If you are new to Crypto, my suggestion is that you start with buying ~$150 worth of Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin @ Coinbase and get familiar with storing it, moving it around, etc.

By sticking with large, reputable exchanges for your first purchase (Coinbase) and first trade (Binance) you can avoid getting scammed right at the start by purchasing a non-existing coin off a scammy exchange. (You would be surprised how many people fall into this trap)
Don't have a hardware wallet?
Be safe and buy them direct from the manufacturer. (Not just through some random on eBay, Amazon, etc)

dude, I love you! lol, kidding, but you saved me! I had a account with 4 axies that I coudn´t access, I tought It was generated 2 different ronin address with the same seed phrase. If you have 9 words and you know their position, then you are only missing three. In this case it's a straightforward recovery, though it might take a few days to check all the possible seeds.

If you are missing all of them, then you can't recover the seed. (It's just math)

The error means what it says, your seed has a typo and is invalid. If it's just one or two words wrong BTCRecover will fix it no problem.

You likely just got two swapped, picked a close word or assembled your seed fragments incorrectly

Same thing happened to a friend, he used the "import with seed phrase" but it opens up a new wallet which has no assets nor money.
He has all the words of the seed phrase, but, it won't let him log in to his wallet with the assets only a empty one.

Sounds like the addresses don't match due to a typo in your seed.

If you have most of your seed phrase them it doesn't matter if you have formatted your computer. (You can still run the recovery)

Max forgotten words are 3 if you know the position of the missing words and 2 if the position is unknown.

Either you are messing up the commands to use BTCRecover, you are using the wrong address or your seed has something else wrong with it.

You can use the same seed on Metamask and Ronin and will get the same address on both. (As I demo on the video)
You need to know all 12 words, if you are missing more than 3 then you can't recover the rest.

Different addresses mean you have a typo in your seed, so will need to use BTCRecover.

Two missing words will take a few hours depending on your CPU.

BTCRecover will only recover if you have lost a couple of words from your seed... If you have all 12 words, then what's stopping you from simply importing the seed directly in to Ronin wallet?

If you have the screenshots then it's unlikely that you have a typo. If you have lost the correct backup then there is no recovery unless you still have the wallet extension data from when it was working.

Just give BTCRecover a go, if you are lucky the defaults will just work, otherwise you will need to try a tokenlist. (If there might be multiple options for a given word)

Yep, you will just need to read the docco and add an extra parameter for the passphrase.
i found a small security issue with the ledger, the computer software keeps records of accounts even when the device is disconnected, somebody can easily click and get the xpub address from it, it doesnt verify that you are connected to give you the xpub but it will verify to receive haha. have you come across this?
This isn't a bug, it's a feature and all hardware wallets allow it. Check out my video on watch wallets :)

Don't enter your address in th extended public key step, you click cancel for that one and enter it when asked for a wallet address... Just watch the video...
sir we don't remember seedpharase of ronin but metamask seedpharse works in ronin but different address is given can we use that process.
Using a different seed will simply generate different addresses, so you need to find the Ronin one.
My Seedrecover keeps stopping at the same attempt, I've restarted retried and it keeps stopping at the same number. No error messages or anything. I tried doing your example and it stopped at attempt 5317(the same as yours) but didn't display the seed. Any Clues?
Are you trying to reproduce the example from the video or is this with your own seed?

Turns out Mac was using python 2 as default, I couldn’t get 3 working. Anyway, through some trial and error I used your seed saviour and managed to get in! I’ll send you some eth! Those addresses still correct?

Is there any way to recover a wallet's private key? When I logged in my ronin -- same seed phrase and password, it was a different account, I forgot to save the wallet's private key, that's all I need. That wallet has my slp for bills. I hope someone can respond.
The seed is the private key, sounds like you have a typo in your backup. (And if you forgot to get it, you can just get it again through your working install of ronin settings -> "view secret recovery phrase"

You just have a typo in the seed, so made a mistake copying it down. Just follow the process in the video, it will likely find and correct it within a few minutes.
Sir, is it a requirement that you create a new wallet after the recovery? I did run the program offline.
If you ran BTCRecover in a clean environment, so something like live booting Ubuntu, then it is probably fine.

No, you would need to recover the wallet extension data.

Well, yes, always before I formatted the PC, I do backups of all paste. I founded too the print screen of phrase on my cellphone... I'm so glad! But my question still open.
What's the question? If you have the seed then just use that. Likewise, if you have the wallet extension data then you can just use that.
Can i use this to recover my avax wallet seed phrase?. I have all 24 words but i think it's scrambled or I probably have a word misspelled.
BTCRecover supports Avax for simple mistakes in your seed. If your seed is 24 words and you scrambled it deliberately then this won't be recoverable.
Hello sir. I removed my old ronin extension to make a new one. I tried to open my old ronin but it was always stated as wrong password. Do I need to remove the new extension and reinstall it?
If you removed the extension them you wiped the wallet data. If you don't have the seed backup for the wallet you removed then you have caused an unrecoverable loss.

The safest bet is to simply install another copy of Ronin in a other browser

4/12 words is useless, but if you have the files (or deleted them recently enough that if you stop using your PC immediately you might recover them) it may be recoverable.

Ronin is asking you for the 12 word recovery recovery phrase. If you have lost this and don't have a working copy of the wallet, your funds are unrecoverable.

Your ronin wallet never gave you 13 words, you have added an extra somewhere along the way and will need to use BTCRecover to work out where you introduced this error.

If you are getting different addresses then this is due to your using a different seed. (Possibly due to a typo)

If you have lost your seed then the only possible recovery option is to stop using your hard drive immediately and attempt a file recovery of the extension data.

So are you sure that you have the right address? There could also be some other issue with your seed that is preventing it from working.

The max you can be missing is 2-3 words, beyond this It's not recoverable. (This has nothing to do with the software, it's just math)

The only way to recover these funds is to contact the owner of the address and ask them to send the funds back. (And if you sent to the wrong address due to making a typo in the address, the funds are likely unrecoverable.)

Well yea of you have lost the whole seed then this is unrecoverable. This only works to recover from a situation where you are missing a few words.

If you are getting different addresses then this is because of a typo in your seed.

You aren't following the process... You don't enter anything in to the popup for extended public key.

Four missing words is too many and would take a few years. It's not really practice today, but will likely be so within a decade. (So don't throw it out)

If you restored the seed and got different addresses then this means you have a typo in your seed backup.

Ronin doesn't generate 13 words, you added an extra word somewhere.

You cannot recover with only an address or transactions. You need either the seed or the wallet extension data from when the wallet was working.

You can reset your wallet and it will give you a new seed, but this will also give you a whole new set of accounts.
You can't keep the existing accounts but start using a new seed.
