If you are new to Crypto, my suggestion is that you start with buying ~$150 worth of Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin @ Coinbase and get familiar with storing it, moving it around, etc.

By sticking with large, reputable exchanges for your first purchase (Coinbase) and first trade (Binance) you can avoid getting scammed right at the start by purchasing a non-existing coin off a scammy exchange. (You would be surprised how many people fall into this trap)
Don't have a hardware wallet?
Be safe and buy them direct from the manufacturer. (Not just through some random on eBay, Amazon, etc)

Yep, 3 missing words where you know the position of the missing ones will be no problem. (Though it will take a few days to do the recovery)

If you have the wallet extension data and the password then you can recover with that.
Your Metamask password is useless unless someone has the actual extension data from your PC.

What is the running speed of the program, is it gpu dependent or cpu dependent, I tried it on rdp and on my own computer, both at the same speeds, is there a method to increase this speed?
If you are using opencl acceleration then it uses both your GPU and CPU. (Though how much of a boost this provides depends on your system)
If you don't enable opencl then it just uses your CPU.

You just have a typo in the seed phrase, this is very common. Just follow my video on using BTCRecover with the defaults.

Hi, I try to explain my problem about Ronin wallet. I'm not able to access to the Ronin wallet because I have lost the password..and of course I have lost also the seed phrase. BTCRecover doesn't support bitwarden.

This works fine for Ronin, as I demo here. Are you saying that you know the password but don't know the seed or that you know the seed words and they are just scrambled?

Hey quick question that's partial unrelated but you might be able to help me with. I'm having trouble recovering my metamask phrase. So I tried to vault decrypt the extension tab data but before that I removed the metamask from my extension tab a couple of times and didn't have any luck besides getting my most previous seed phrase. I have the brave state logs i don't know if those would be of any help.
If you removed the extension then this wiped all your data.

If the possible password just generated random garbage then it doesn't mean anything. (There are examples of what a correct password will generate in the possible passwords file)

I've done some manipulation with it already. but the output in the log file is always the same. what else do you recommend? why is the line not decrypted: (vault data) do I need to carry out any manipulations with it to get the result?
The decrypted data is likely random garbage.
You basically need to have either a passwordlist/tokenlist + typos produce the correct ppassword to correctly decrypt the vault data.

I used my seed phrase but i don't see the account in which i had my assets. I know im using the correct network as i have searched the address on etherscan and it was on ethereum network. There isn't any mistake on SRP as i have saved in notes and took a screenshot of it. How can one possibly find it?

You probably just used the smart chain as I demo in my video on recovering from Binance smart chain. If you are already on Metamask then you can just add the smart chain to Metamask and your funds will be there.

If you overwrote metamask with a new seed you will want the old vault. You will need to use your own password and also wallet folder path.

If you are just using extract scripts and dumping vaults you don't need opencl at all

If you are using a password lost then you just write it out complete. If you are using a tokenlist then you need to break it up.

I'm on windows, with the metamask extension in chrome. I had forgotten my password, and I was decently sure that I had the recovery phrase written down. I tried 4 different recovery phrases and all of them was correct and led to a wallet, but none of them were to the correct address.
I followed the steps on how to extract vaults, and I'm pretty confident I have the correct vault. Is there a way to run password recovery to vault decryptor or something similar to attempt to recover my recovery phrase? I have an idea of what the password was been but I haven't been able to crack it manually.

If you have no other backup of it your only option is to stop using the PC immediately and try a data recovery.

Did you try dumping it with BTCRecover? Are you sure you have the right password?

If you have the 12 word phrase then you can just use BTCRecover with that, running on any other system. (You don't need the wallet data)

One or two words wrong is no problem, you just need to use BTCRecover for seed recovery as is covered in my other videos.

Just watch the video to the end, I cover exactly this. Your old wallet is still there, you will just need to use the extract script from BTCRecover to get the old vault.

It used to be quite straightforward to extract the wallet data from iOS, but now it isn't possible unless you have jailbroken the device

Well yea, you just install Metamask, select that you have an existing recovery seed and enter the 12 words. All your funds should then be found and you are good to go.

You would need to jailbreak the phone to be able to extract the wallet app data. Once done you could then just that with BTCRecover to attempt to recover the password.
I had a metamask wallet chrome extension on my laptop and than I bought a new laptop. I synced Google user account and than accidentally removed the metamask extension from chrome in my new laptop which automatically removed the extension from the old laptop. Now I can't access my wallet since I don't have my seed phrase even though I know the password and the wallet address 😢. Is there any help in this type of situation?
Unfortunately you have likely caused an unrecoverable loss. The only possible solution would be to immediately stop using the PC and attempt a data recovery for the old wallet files from the hard drive.

No, I am talking about stopping using the PC entirely and using specialized data recovery tools first. (The same as if you are trying to recover a deleted file)

Any tools for recovering deleted files and there are services that offer this all around the world. If you stopped using the PC immediately after causing the issue, it may be recoverable, but if it has been a while, it's unlikely that there is anything useful there.

No, if you have no idea of the passwords and no seed then you can't recover.
The reason why you can't do a password reset without your seed is because of the way that cryptocurrency wallets work to deliberately prevent the wallet vendor from being able to steal your funds.

@cyprian ladd agpoon have you found a solution to your problem? i encountered the same problem today. Ronin wallet did not recognize my password so i entered the seed phrase but it only created a new wallet address without the assets. I can open the marketplace too but can't do transaction as it said wrong ronin wallet address. The marketplace asks to switch the wallet address.
UPDATE : I did try again to import the wallet using the seed phrase and it restored my old ronin account.
This means that you simply had a typo when you entered it the first time.

Can you please help me? I have spent days on this. I lost 1 phrase from my phantom wallet. I found all the possible seed phrases by generating new wallets and finding the unique words. I did it about 1000 times and it stayed at 2048 unique seed words. I have 11 of my 12 phrases. I must've missed one when writing it down. Ftm is just an Eth clone, so just use BTCRecover for the seed recovery, it should fix it in about 10 minutes.

I just updated the docco for Firefox, turns out it's straightforward and you can pull the hash directly from the squlite file for the extension. (It's in your profile folder)
@@CryptoGuide Thanks for the guide. But it didn't help. I got the hash and tried it against a passwordlist but no match was found. I used the --yoroi-master-password and --passwordlist argument. And just to make sure that i wasn't doing something wrong, i created a new wallet in chrome and tried cracking the newly created password and had that exact one in the passwordlist file. But still btcrecover couldn't crack it. Am i missing an argument that i should use?

If you wiped the extension data without a working backup, then you have caused an unrecoverable loss.

What do you mean "stolen"? Is someone else has your seed there is nothing you can do to get the funds back. If you have lost access to the wallet you were using, you can just restore your seed and you are good to go.

You don't need the password if you have the seed, you can just click to import using secret recovery seed, or to install it in a new instance of the wallet in another browser... What's stopping you from doing that?

When you say private key, do you mean address or did you somehow export an individual private key for the address you were using? (Ronin wallet doesn't let you import or individual private keys like this at all, though I did find out where you can export them...) It might be possible to manually craft a wallet file for it based on how Metamask does it but that wouldn't be straightforward...

If you don't have your 12 word secret recovery phrase then your only option is to attempt to recover the wallet password with something like BTCRecover.
@@CryptoGuide I had it on the bar in mozilla and it never really gave me any words, I just entered the password and it was logged in. They had to do something with this program so that it was not possible to log in.
Metamask always gives you the recovery phrase as part of the initial setup, you just need to find out what you did with it.
