Can you review my book?
I’m always happy to hear about upcoming books, but I’m afraid I don’t review self-published books and can only accept a small number of books for review. I enjoy reading classics, dystopian/apocalyptic novels, sci-fi, translated fiction and a variety of graphic novels, YA and contemporary literary fiction. Get in touch at booksandquills@gmail.com
Where is your accent from?
I was born and raised in the Netherlands, studied English Lit at Leiden University (also in the Netherlands), studied in the US for 3 months and have lots of American friends. I'm definitely not Irish or Canadian, I promise!
Where do you live?
I live in London and have been here for 4 years now.
How did you get into publishing?
I did publishing work experience, did a lot of networking and learned everything I know about social media from creating and running this channel. (P.s. You don't necessarily have to study Publishing or English to get a job in publishing!).

booksandquills 2019? :O :)
Rosianna definitely has a better flair for fiction. However, I really liked the line "Sponge and Spiker were the kinds of relatives she wishes could stay distant". Fun game to watch!
Thanks for watching! :)
I'm from the US and can definitely confirm that the pride and prejudice movie does end with a romantic scene between Mr and Mrs Darcy!
Rosianna wins, I think, her lines were really convincing, but I loved your sense of humour, Sanne. 'Reader, I shagged him' is a great last line. I would love to win a copy of this, to try it out with friends, seems like great fun!
Btw, the people mentioned in Pride and Prejudice's last line are the Gardiners, Lizzy's aunt and uncle.
This game seems like so much fun. Just fabulous.
James and the Giant Peach WAS a little creepy. You're both wonderful and hilarious.
I always love the videos you two do together!
You two are so fun together! Mill on the Floss sounds very dramatic, entirely in my wheelhouse :D
This game is so up my street. I may do an improvised version with my family over the holidays...
Ah I love it when you guys do vids together, this game seems like so much fun and I think Rosianna did better except from the James and the Giant Peach line!
Great video!! I really want to have this game now, but I know that none of my family would want to play it with me lol
I had no idea that there was a version of the Pride and Prejudice film that didn’t have that scene at the end!! I love that end scene, it totally makes me all mushy with the cutesy feels💗💗
That was so fun, but I definitely think you should do a video playing Flummoxed, too!
I particularly loved Rosianna's last line for Lord of the Flies (it's just such a simple yet ironic final line that perfectly ties up the novel), but I also really liked Sanne's first line for the Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde (I'm now so intrigued by it!)
I've wanted to try both Flummoxed and Ex Libris, so this was fun! Sanne's The Spy Who Loved Me line was my favourite though! 😂
This game looks like so much fun! Thanks for sharing! :)
I think I prefered Sanne's sentences, but I also really like Rosianna's line for The Spy Who Loved Me.
I think the last P&P line is about Mr. & Mrs. Gardiner :)
+Nina Marie Haha guess I’ll have to wait until I finish P&P to properly see it in context.
The movie James and the Giant Peach freaked me out when I saw it in school.
I really liked both of your first lines for 'James and the giant peach'! I felt like they could both have been written by Roald Dahl.
Such a fun game, I would love to play it as well, so please enter me in the competition.
This a fun game! Especially with a creative and weird group of friends who can come up with great original sentences.
I always enjoy it when Rosianna makes an appearance in your videos!
Thank you! And congrats, you're the winner of a copy of Ex Libris :) Please send me a DM on Twitter/Insta or email at booksandquills @ gmail . com with your address and full name.
@@booksandquills Thanks, Sanne! That's so cool!
I do not know how I feel about this game. It is so spoilery. I mean, with classics you always kind of know the plot and even the ending ..
I think you both did very great!
This was really enjoyable to watch! Also I totally remember seeing that ending to the 2005 Pride and Prejudice in theatres! It's the only time I've watched the movie and I knew it wasn't the original ending and they made it especially for North American audiences (I saw it in Canada).
+laura. Yay, thanks! I had absolutely no idea they did it sometimes until I heard about this instance.
Wait they don't have the "Mrs. Darcy" scene in the UK version?? But that's like the best/cutest scene in the entire movie!! My mind is blown
I think you both were great at the game but in different ways? Rosianna was the more poetic true to style version, while Sanne went with a more ‘cards against humanity ‘ approach in just going for humour- which i really appreciate as someone who could never win and thus would do the same :p
My favorite UA-cam duo! 🔥🔥🔥
this is such a fun idea! ^^
Haha, just finished the last final of my English degree, and we read Mill on the Floss and Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde! Didn't love Mill on the Floss . . . .
Rosianna is the winner here. Sorry! I love you both!
You definitely did better than I would've
This game would have been the perfect present for a friend of mine, but the 20%-off-Code doesn't seem to be working for me and shipping to Germany is 15 GBP :(
Anyways, this game seemed a lot of fun and you both came up with really creative answers! I'd love to play this game too so please enter me into the competition!
Love from Morocco!
I think I just discovered that I know WAY MORE first sentences of books than last sentences of books!
the 20% off coupon dose not work
+TheP0rt sorry about that! It is the right code, but let me check and get back to you.
+TheP0rt okay, it should be working now!
@@booksandquills thanks it working now
booksandquills 😂it out of stock now there must have been a rush on
I'm shocked to learn that the ending scene of pride and prejudice does not exist in all versions and now angry that they felt the need to add it for Americans. I think it is absolutely horrid and I turn it off without watching every time.
