Let's chat about dreamy books that are all about reading, book lovers and libraries, featuring special guest, fellow BookTuber and also debut author, Anna James! I've been dying to film with Anna for ages and her book coming out was the perfect moment. Check out the links for all the books below.

    Can you review my book?
I’m always happy to hear about upcoming books, but I’m afraid I don’t review self-published books and can only accept a small number of books for review. I enjoy reading classics, dystopian/apocalyptic novels, sci-fi, translated fiction and a variety of graphic novels, YA and contemporary literary fiction. Get in touch at booksandquills@gmail.com
    Where is your accent from?
I was born and raised in the Netherlands, studied English Lit at Leiden University (also in the Netherlands), studied in the US for 3 months and have lots of American friends. I'm definitely not Irish or Canadian, I promise!
    Where do you live?
I live in London and have been here for 4 years now.
How did you get into publishing?
I did publishing work experience, did a lot of networking and learned everything I know about social media from creating and running this channel. (P.s. You don't necessarily have to study Publishing or English to get a job in publishing!).

You have no idea how wonderful this video's topic is!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE books about bookstores and libraries. Just like I love movies set/filmed in bookshops and libraries. Your list is wonderful!! I love how you reminded me to read MATILDA and JANE EYRE all over again. Plus I love your accents. So lovely!! I'm saving this video on a to be watched again playlist. You have a new fan! I just discovered your channel today. So excited and can't wait to check out your other videos!!!! Cheers from Northern Virginia!!

I cannot wait for my nieces taste in literature to evolve. I will definitely be pushing her to read pages and co. How absolutely darling! She’s only 7, but has a ferocious appetite for reading. Unfortunately she prefers much more juvenile storylines which I suppose is to be expected at her age!

I loved those recommendations. The ones that I've read were really good. I would also recommend Mr Penumbra's 24-hour bookshop. Pages & Co reminds me of two German books I've read, Inkheart by Cornelia Funke, and the Book Jumper by Mechthild Gläser

Great video though was surprised no one mentioned the Thursday Next series by I asked Fforde (first book is The Eyre Affair) which is set in a world where literature is one of the most important things and in the first one somehow someone takes Jane Eyre out of the book which causes all sorts of problems. In an effort to get things back to how they should be Thursday Next enters the book and discovers a whole new way of seeing books. I would highly recommend if you're a book lover as there are so many inside jokes you will only get if you love books.

Here’s to hoping this comment reaches Anna James. ❤️ I am so looking forward to getting my hands on Tilly here in the U.S. I am a literacy coach for my school district and I love to introduce students to new books and find that perfect fit. Before I purchase, I wanted to see if there is anyway to get an autographed version? Anna, your spunky personality is so fun. I ran across the video of you talking about Tilly and the Bookwanders and the books that inspired you. I can’t wait to share it.

Oh yeah, I didn't like the fan fiction parts in Fangirl. The book itself was awesome and is still one of my all time favourites, but I did skip the Simon Snow part. What's funny, I did buy the Carry On book that's just the fan fiction... and I loved it!

I love Fangirl, and it's a book I can reread and enjoy just as much - I empathise a lot with the main character, and some of the struggles and development she experiences at university. I wish there were more books set at university, they would have really helped me a couple of years ago!
I'm looking forward to reading Pages & Co when it comes out.

I have the same feeling with the city of dreaming books! I read it when I was 13-14 I think? I really want to reread it (as a 24yo) but I am really scared that it isn't going to be as good as I remember and it will taint the good memories I have of it :O for me its one of those books that you read as a kid that keep haunting you as an adult (in a good way ;) )
