Great video, one game I do highly recommend (Granted it came out in November) is called Sakuna, of Rice and Ruin. It's a farming simulator and a beat'em up. Weird mix but it's a good game if you want to relax. There is a lot in-depth with the farming section which is surprising and the side-scrolling beat'em up is a good distraction for when you are done with your farming for the day.

I say Crosscode as a all time favorite. While this was released back in 2018 and I played it in 2019, but finally got released on consoles in 2020 where I played it again in the switch
Hey connor- keep up the work you're doing. That's not to say dint experiment or branch out but, rather to say that the content you're putting out has been amazing, and while it hasn't been doing nearly as good as it should be I do hope that it'll help you get more recognition some day.

by far my favorite game this year has been genshin impact, it's practically everything i ever wanted in a massive open world exploration game and gacha to make me keep coming back and big updates like the most recent patch last week which gave us a whole mountain to explore
happy to see paradise killer on your list, it's a fantastic game
hope 2021 will bring good games and with impostor factory it's likely going to be a good year for games

Funnily enough, a game that has been in early access for a decade has been what I've been obsessed with during this year, that being Project Zomboid. Probably the most in-depth zombie survival game out there, with a strong emphasis on avoiding combat, due to the fact that your character is slow to attack and zombies come in hordes of like 50. So, chilling in a house in the middle of the woods of Knox County, Kentucky and making supply runs into the towns nearby is the name of the game for Zomboid, and it's absolutely enthralling for me. I found them out through another game, Neo Scavenger: a finished survival game with even more depth than Zomboid, except it's about surviving the day-to-day life of a homeless man in Detroit/Manchester, selling sewer water to keep gramma's thyroid meds to yourself.
The two best games I played (but not released) in 2020 were Disco Elysium and Pathologic 2. I played them back in april-may, when the UK was under its first lockdown. I think it's safe to say these two games will stay with me forever, both because of their amazing stories, writing, soundtrack and atmosphere, as well as the context I played them in.
Disco Elysium has this constant looming threat of the approaching end of the world, but it's not the main focus of the game at all. It's there, it's inevitably coming, but for now life goes on, and you have a murder case to solve. Pathologic 2, well, is literally about a plague, and the authorities being incapable of containing it or helping the people. There's more to it but I don't wanna spoil anything.
So yeah, interesting how waiting about a year to play those two amazing games in such a strange context has made them even better experiences for me.
My honorable mention is Ultrakill, a fps with smooth gameplay and tight mechanic that even in early access it more than worth it price.
And Library of Ruina, a deck building turn base game that hard to getting in but really fun to play

My honorable mentions would have to be ghost of tsushima. Here are the reasons: beautiful game world, amazinh story, innovative add ons such as guiding winds, excellent combat system (tho i lock on wouldve been appreciated) great customization and skills. Overall a 10/10 experience. Connor if you havent, look into this game. Its a masterpeice

i cannot agree with teardown more it is awesome its like that game you wished as a child where you could destroy anything without consequence even though my pc cant play it without having a literal heart attack and exploding i still love it and i hope the developer goes on to make many games to break many other computers

While I'm here I will use this opportunity to introduce 2 very different games that also came out this year that I adored.
ULTRAKILL (yes it's in all caps) is the sort of game that I'm genuinely shocked hasn't been made yet. It's got the asthetics, story, perspective, and weapon selection of an old boomer shooter but the gameplay feel and style system of a character action game. They even bought out the domain devilmayquake.com which just redirects to their steam page. If you're a fan of DMC or Bayonetta or a fan of old school shooters, the game is worth a try, at least the demo is, even if I think there isn't much content there as of right now.
On a totally separate note, Ikenfell is a story driven, turn based RPG with a story that feels like it's the natural result of all those gay teenagers who fervently wrote harry potter fanfiction growing up to become professional writers. It's comforting, happy, cute, filled with the sort of teenage angst my 20 year old heart hasn't grown out of yet, and it's very, incredibly, stupendously gay.
Wait yakuza 7 is turn based. Honestly that feels odd. Like I've been meaning to try the series but I dunno how I feel about it being an rpg now...

My favorite game from this year was bugsnax! Please try it even if you're only a little bit interested. It's hard to properly describe how good it is, but it's really an excellent game!
Also, ghostrunner seems 100% up my alley and I'm very happy someone brought it to my attention. I'm downloading the demo right now lol.
