My wife decided to buy a BMW to temp replace her ultra reliable Toyota diesel , due to khan in London and his fraudulent ULEZ expansion-aug 2023 We are hoping that it gets voted out in May.24.
The BMW e91 ,is definitely not ultra reliable, but the straight six engine is nice.
Will try to follow your vid and replace the diversity aerial.
Oh , it's an aerial according to the Haynes manual, it's the US which call it an antenna, the word to describe insects head feelers.

The "Comfort Assist System" is usually the issue. Seems weird but it IS the issue. This according the BMW Master Mechanic who FIXED ours 🤠

Hello, thanks for the very informative video. That's a very thorough effort there. My F07 BMW GT has intermittent key fob issues. It works sometimes but doesn’t many times. I get the key not detected warning on the dash those times. This warning also pops up sometimes when the passenger side front door is opened. The dealership says its the antenna. Have you seen such an issue? Thank you for your time😊

Thank you my friend. It wasn't working until something you said made me realise that the screws that hold it in are actually the earth. Now my central locking is working again 🎉

great video, my key fob only works at close proximity, some times I have to wave the fob about or touch the aerial. any suggestions?
This video is really good.I have a BMW X5 E70 2012 which has central locking but the car key sometimes locks it and sometimes doesn't unlock. i opened the diversity unit and cleaned it with a electrical cleaner and still have the same problem.my remote signal is perfect. please advice me
Hi, I think you might have a broken wire or a stretched wire in the tailgate rubber grommet

Thanks for the video. I hav ebeen searching to narrow down my issue of intermittent fob connection and think I narrowed it down to this booster. I checked the 4 wires and have power to all 12,5,5,12 volt but noticed the fob would work right up to the controller but stop when put behind my back. I think the amplifier is out. Have a $45 replacement coming. Any who... thanks for the info you have shown!

Hi you don't need to code the new unit,but you might have to switch the ignition off and on a few times

Great video! I have no 12v in the last pin! Basically the car closes all the doors ( open tailgate with no problems) but I cannot open the 4 doors with the FOB, I can only open the driver door with the key and closes fine with the FOB! Do you think I need to replace the diversity or might be a cable problem?

Small update: I’ve brought my car to check the wiring and seems all fine! They still troubleshooting with some software! At this point I think or is the fob indeed or the diversity module which still doesn’t bring 12 volt on the bottom cable when the car engine is off! Let’s see the next episode 😅

Both fobs aren’t working on my car. If it’s wiring is it the wiring on the right hand side of the diversity antenna which I need to check for the voltage? Like your video. If no voltage then wiring issue? Thanks!
Hi, is the central locking from the button inside the car
@@thefix9823 central locking works with the button inside the car and the emergency key. Just not either of the fobs. Everything else works as normal.
Check the wiring from inside the rubber grommet for broken wires.

My keyfob works when it’s closer to the diversity antenna. Can you let me know if this is a keyfob problem or something wrong with the diversity antenna

Great Video, thanks. A BMW specialist have confirmed my Diversity Antenna is toast. Going to get a replacement on eBay and give it a go changing myself. One question, is the module plug and play, or do I need to code it to the car or the keys? Thanks

Hi, that sounds like the wiring is broken
La chiave non apre e non chiude le porte. Col pulsante interno funziona tutto, Quindi escludere che sia la centralina la causa. La radio riceve bene. Alla concessionaria senza controllare l'auto hanno detto che si tratta della batteria della chiave scarica. Praticanente di prenderne una nuova per via che la batteria è saldata all'interno e quindi non può essere sostituita. Domando: non c'è un accessorio o un modo che assicuri che la batteria che la batteria sia realmente scarica-grazie

Hi, if your key is ok, check the fuses, and if the fuses are ok, look inside the diversity antenna for water damage and also press the boot release button on tailgate without ignition on and check last wire for 12 volts do this before checking the diversity antenna,if you have voltage there then you have got broken wires in the tailgate grommet

What a botch, 2 plastic dowels on the spoiler forgotten to loosen, then scrape with the screws over the roof. The 3rd cable also has voltage only when you turn on the radio. The diversity is almost never broken, it is usually a cable break.
Too brutal …. ITS a Trick to fix it So Waste of time if YOU replace it
