I wish the NPCs would actually use all my carefully constructed markets. They seem so lifeless as it is. It would be awesome if random scavengers or wastelanders (or even raiders) would enter your town to do some shopping.
I know this is an old comment, but I'd like to point out that this is Bethesda's first iteration of the settlement system. I assume we'll see more complexity in coming titles (also assuming they don't microtransaction the shit out of it) I agree though, would be nice if the Inns I built saw some patronage ^^
That would be really cool, Instead though we have settlements filled with settlers that are not much better than those from the walking dead, who blurts out comments like " i hope your not here for me", or " if you work you eat, simple as that" Bullshit.... I would love to reply to those settlers by saying.... "I'm the fucking general, you idiot!! " I don't really bother with good looking settlements now, i give them a few more settlers some defense like turrets, or walls, and somewhere to sleep etc and thats that. If the settlements attacked, sometimes i do go back to try and help out but if im too far away, well to hell with it. This game could of been really awesome if only bethesda put some real thought behind it. Even the main story is fuckin lame. Fallout 3 had a far better story, shame they couldn't be bothered to remake that game.
Charles Lindeman two years later. NOPE LOL. Would be cool if we could all somehow go online and pick a faction and interact in others commonwealth’s. You could be a raider, Gunnar, Brotherhood of steel, Minuteman. Play with or against the creator of the world. For the love of toilet paper, It’s 2020 someone’s got to be able to do it. It would motivate players to build more immersive worlds if they knew the public was going to interact with their creations.
I really wish Bethesda had designed "indoor" versions of the shops that could be more easily integrated into buildings instead of leaving us having to work around a bunch of trashy lemonade stands.
You and me both! I was really hoping they'd add some in the Vault DLC, since using those lemonade stands inside a vault makes absolutely no sense. But alas! They did not.
These look GREAT! I had seen Norespawn's video and yours was recommended for me to view next. I like the way you've improved on the basic concept - especially the ones with the fabric awnings. These little touches make it look like a proper marketplace. You're still inspiring the newest generation of players (as well as us old-timers who are returning to the game). Thanks for sharing your ideas!
I am so late on all this stuff, I played through the game like 20 times and built settlements like a berserk, but never got creative with ANYTHING. Just loaded my first play through file the other day and looked at my shitty and sterile buildings. No creativity what so ever. Now I am on a Minutemen focused play through with the emphasis on being as immersive and taking as much time as possible, and yeah... After five years of FO4 I just built my first greenhouse this week. Yep... Added some "new"(actually super old) mods and man... I haven't had this much fun in a game in a loooong time. Thanks for the video, I just learned to rug glitch through this! I am such a boon.
Are you kidding me? All this time I was messing with the poles, and all I had to use was the rug glitch?! Stupid me, never thought of that, as most structures do not like the clip glitch, just the "hold down" glitch. THANK YOU so much for this!
Yeah, it can get mixed up when the structural stuff will only respond to group-select and the decorative stuff responds to group-select and the rug glitch. Try everything, there are some neat combos made with passing some items through others, like walls textured with the backs of vending machines barely popping out or stairs made from those rectangular raider cages.
Wow. Those stores look amazing seeing them in action. I seriously have to try some of your building techniques. I've always made my settlements work for me, but I never took the time to make them all fancy-like. Very nice job!!
Um, no pun included so no worries😏. I can't help myself, I've scrolled thru hundreds of comments today and haven't stopped o a single one. Except now, when someone says no pun without actually punning it's like me saying bless you after farting😂.
18:05 sometimes it's easier to just change your build order. You could store the shack floors you have in the front and then just attach the railings to the prefabs, then reattach the shack floors to make this whole process WAY faster. Also, I liked the idea of the signs, but why not temporarily attach a roof/floor after the 1st railing, then just attach the 2nd railing to IT? After that you can just store the roof/floor and use your sign as normal, but you don't have to spend a whole lot of time trying to get the railings to line up with each other. For the deathclaw's name... ummm cuddles? lol
After you select an object you can hold X and move the object closer and further. Holding X and L1 moves the object up and down. All while standing still.
Love this and few of your other videos, you build the way I do and want to. (didn't know that carpet glitch thats will revolutionize my builds) oh and the posts. Great video. Liked and Subbed : )
Interesting approaches to stores. I like your mini-mall. Just found your channel (don't know how I haven't before), and a quick note on the issue at 12:10: the group won't jump if you grab the thing you put down _last_. (In this case, pick the ladder up and put it back down before you select it.) At 20:30 or so, try using a post from the wire fence section instead of a rug as the group-select "handle." Its footprint is smaller and it's easier to line things up. It can sink a little, too, which can be useful. Now to check out the rest of your videos. :)
Thanks! Someday I'm going to make a "methods" video myself (so far it's only settlement tours) but I'm still figuring out how to record audio, and without audio it's kind of hard to explain what I'd be doing. I'm learnin tho. ;)
I don't know what XB1 is like, since I've never used one, but the way I record using PS4 is with a capture card (Specifically the Hauppauge Rocket), and I plug my headset mic into that.
You are , byfar the only woman i know of that likes Fallout ; series game ; you are an insperation to us all ! For your videos : i like the way you set up buildings, and. Little shops ! Thank you !
I am having trouble placing this build onto a shack foundation, as the prefabs and floors do not snap to the top of it. Are there any recommendations, or tricks to make it square up nice and neatly?
I make my shops super realistic. I put down a "small shack" then put a box with no entry to the outside world (to prevent other settlers out of my shopkeeps bed) and put those as close as possible (similar to diamond city.
You may not have known this, but if you fast travel to a couple of places after you use the rug glitch, you can come back and remove the rug without the object sinking. Try it out it works. if you make a video regarding this tip, remember my youtube name is MrWillsin lol mention me in the vid.
To stop things from jumping up when you group select them you have to make sure the item you're selecting is the last item you had selected individually. So you can just select the stairs, cancel it, then group select on the stairs and it won't jump up.
Ik it's been 2 years but for anyone else wondering, it's wasteland workshop DLC, which grants the trapping of various wasteland creatures. Using a beta wave emitter, any usually hostile creatures, aside from humans, will be friendly to player and settlers, and provide a defense rating.
if you're somehow still looking for a deathclaw name, 2 years later? as soon as you said the male was named Clarence, the only name i could give the female counterpart would be Alabama. it's from one of my favorite movies, True Romance. ua-cam.com/video/8F5QZpJxrto/v-deo.html
nice video with lots of helpful info! I assume that the rug glitch and other mentioned tricks are only available on PC? I play on XBox One, and was wondering if these same tricks can be done on this platform.
Some of them are really finicky. Try putting only one of the back legs of the stand on the rug and see if that works. Usually does for me. But no, they haven't been patched. I think it's the general trader stand that's the hardest one to work with. Just try different angles, and placing the different feet on the rug one at a time until you find the sweet spot.
+Wasteland Dovahkiin I got it to work, you can't do it so easily with the small one, you have to use the slightly larger ones, like the emporium and the one blow it
You could use flag poles. Then use the draping lights between the poles. Just to bad the draping lights aren't colored. Also, why not place the back walls after the stores are placed in?
I might have a mod that has them but I've seen Minuteman, BOS, USA, Hammer and Sickle, Railroad,++,.... But, the flag poles actually look as though the wind is blowing.
Loving your videos and wanted to ask you a question, I've just noticed you rug glitching in the shops how do you select it again after you've positioned it, without selecting the whole unit?
With the actual rug glitch you don't select the whole unit, just the rug. Are you talking about the select all feature? If so, then you can't select items again without selecting the whole unit. You have to remove them and start over.
+Wasteland Dovahkiin Yes I thought that if you selected the rug, then everything else would be selected, thank you for your prompt reply ...I'm .still learning lol
I cant use the raider poles and tents 8( they look uninviting and dangerous... I wish bethesda would have implemented more stuff like the special bunker hill traders spot. I love the red fabric- imagine wed had some of those in different colors without the brahmin tub...so many possibilities!
Come on Modders. Create a fallout New Vegas or fallout four public interactions world where players can share their world with the public.Where the public can interact in the games. Choose a faction Gunnar, Raider, Minuteman, Brotherhood of steel and play in someone else’s created commonwealth. Either with or against the creator of the world. With enough people playing in someone else’s world you may never even meet the creator. That would be so kewl! I’d pay a one time fee of $10 a year or $1 a month for that service. X at least 1 million. MONEY MONEY 💰
Those Stalls look awesome girl, Its just a shame that they are so lifeless like Hedgehobbit says above. But typical of bethesda making a game that's only half finished. Instead they left it all to the modders to fix.
Over 19,000 views, yet only about 500 people have bothered to click the 'like' (or dislike) button. Lazy arses or just a sign of the times? A lot of effort goes into making these videos, so c'mon people - give some encouragement!
i dont like the shops they look terrible and the sign on top and side flaps stops you from putting it in a building without glitching ............. never heard of norespawns before this video im now watching them thanks for the info
What type of porn do you watch that has this as background music? That's what I wanna know. xD Song does get on my nerve though, I'll agree on that. Still good content though
I wish the NPCs would actually use all my carefully constructed markets. They seem so lifeless as it is. It would be awesome if random scavengers or wastelanders (or even raiders) would enter your town to do some shopping.
+Hedgehobbit Yeah, that would be really great. Maybe some day there will be a mod for that.

I love that I randomly came across your channel, you have given me more ideas and help for my settlements!
+Ivan Gonzalez I love that you randomly came across my channel too! :) Thanks for stopping by!
@@WastelandDovahkiin you need to use the level 3 emporium counters for those kinds of places, I guess.
I almost shit myself when the deathclaw walked by, then i remembered the cage dlc thing :P
Love your building work. I suggest Molly as a name for your poor half-blind Deathclaw who keeps running into walls.
Oh God, I can't get that music OUT OF MY HEAD!
But seriously, you and Davey both have given me lots of inspiration for settlements.
Thanks!

reminds me of some of the bazaars I had seen when I lived in Europe. Very nicely done.
Wow. Those stores look amazing seeing them in action. I seriously have to try some of your building techniques. I've always made my settlements work for me, but I never took the time to make them all fancy-like. Very nice job!!
+Jonathan Lenig (JMaestro101) Thank you so much! :)
Why is there 160 beds
😂😂😂
I realize I am years late to the game (pun intended), and I just discovered your building videos which are exactly what I need. Thank you very much!
Um, no pun included so no worries😏. I can't help myself, I've scrolled thru hundreds of comments today and haven't stopped o a single one. Except now, when someone says no pun without actually punning it's like me saying bless you after farting😂.
Great video, loved the tour. You're very creative and talented.
Really cool!!! Love to watch the whole building process Then the all setup tour at the end :)
Every settlement needs a tame deathclaw called Smellsbad. Just saying.
I like using the concrete window. It looks really good as a storefront once things are glitched into it.
18:05 sometimes it's easier to just change your build order. You could store the shack floors you have in the front and then just attach the railings to the prefabs, then reattach the shack floors to make this whole process WAY faster.

+Douglas Blackmans Thank you! :) The rug glitch is the bomb!
This year is my first time discovered fallout 4, and i really helpfully with all ur video, and i think it will my long journey at fallout😂
"Dont mind my deathclaw"
Me who has no Deathclaw pets: *Cries in no deathclaw*

XB1.
I don't know what XB1 is like, since I've never used one, but the way I record using PS4 is with a capture card (Specifically the Hauppauge Rocket), and I plug my headset mic into that.
Great ideas! Beginning builder here bit by the bug. Thank you for the tips and tricks.
Just a casual Death Claw walking around checking stuff out...🤣
Just subbed, love your vids definitely inspired!
Welcome to the channel!
Awesome video! Thanks for the great ideas and tips. :-D
You are , byfar the only woman i know of that likes Fallout ; series game ; you are an insperation to us all ! For your videos : i like the way you set up buildings, and. Little shops ! Thank you !
Really nice video and tips. You just Got yourself a new sub. :)
For the problem at 18:00: Just remove the floor temporarely, put the railings and then the floor back in place.
I like this video for its uses of building shops in this way. PS, watching this in 2022.
Clawdette
I like that!
That's totally me in the beginning just put a shop anywhere lol 😂
Impressive thank you for the tips you seem like a very nice person
great video, with plenty of great ideas.

Grim Raper you can assign settlers to there own beds
Nice vid! thanks for making this ;)
I cant do the rug glitch. when i try and move the shop stand it just picks up the rug and not the shop
I'm still playing this like it's just been released, is that healthy?
I feel that, homie 😌🤙
Lol same
Awesome video!

To stop things from jumping up when you group select them you have to make sure the item you're selecting is the last item you had selected individually. So you can just select the stairs, cancel it, then group select on the stairs and it won't jump up.
why there is a deathclaw inside sanctuary? :D
Take a shot every time she says rug glitch.
Whoa!!!😱😱😱 3:08
i dont care about the 160 beds. but why there is a deathclaw lurking background? @8:18

thanks for the vid!
on pc are there mods to make npcs stay where you want them. highlight an area and they wont leave it?
I've seen special mats/rugs to put down and the settler will stay there. Some even trigger actions, like drinking or smoking.
Does the rug glitch still work for the stands, I can't seem to get it to work
Some of them are really finicky. Try putting only one of the back legs of the stand on the rug and see if that works. Usually does for me. But no, they haven't been patched. alex... btw i know this is 2 yrs later xD also that's my recommendation for the deathclaw thats probly named
You got a pet Deathclaw...
Name her Lucy. lol
Cool video
How is there a deathclaw just chilling in the background?
I'd stopped playing FO4 and I've missed a lot.
Wasteland Workshop DLC. You can tame wild animals. Deathclaws provide 10 defense each to your settlements.
+Wasteland Dovahkiin ohhhhh.
thanks.
You could use flag poles. Then use the draping lights between the poles. Just to bad the draping lights aren't colored. Also, why not place the back walls after the stores are placed in?
Because I didn't think about it before I placed the walls? lol! Also, flag poles? What flag poles?
I might have a mod that has them but I've seen Minuteman, BOS, USA, Hammer and Sickle, Railroad,++,.... But, the flag poles actually look as though the wind is blowing.
Yeah, that's a mod.
nice tips
I feel like the 3rd store would be best in the slog. it looks very slog-like
I called my deathclaw Tiny.
That background music (what was it, a 10 second loop?) was grating at me.
Can you show us how to make your tree house?
Loving your videos and wanted to ask you a question, I've just noticed you rug glitching in the shops how do you select it again after you've positioned it, without selecting the whole unit?

Yes I thought that if you selected the rug, then everything else would be selected, thank you for your prompt reply ...I'm .still learning lol
Love your channel..new sub here
I'd suggest that you name your Deathclaw... Claudine, as in Claw-deen.
I cant use the raider poles and tents 8( they look uninviting and dangerous... I wish bethesda would have implemented more stuff like the special bunker hill traders spot. I love the red fabric- imagine wed had some of those in different colors without the brahmin tub...so many possibilities!
160 beds is INSANE
Lol theres just a random deathclaw roaming in the background
great
I went from not caring about settlements to learning everything about it, fo4 is 10/10 better than Minecraft
I need a bar for Strong hahaha it only sells human milk
Still relevant. 😉
Why no XP Points?
Lots of stored objects
Omg is that real deth claw 😂😂😂😂😂

Just what I was looking for. what is your PSN username?
Is this UA-cam royalty free music? 31K views and you use this music, Fallout 4 has a plethora of in game music you can use...
name ur deathclaw Lurcetia

Witchcraft!
Seriously, good tutorial.
Bubble
Hi
good ideas and sound nice but keep forgetting your err.... words xx
I'm sorry, but does anyone really need tutorials for the first 3? Lol
Why'd you put porno music in the background
What type of porn do you watch that has this as background music? That's what I wanna know. xD
Song does get on my nerve though, I'll agree on that.
Still good content though
Name her Hillary, after the most influential Deathclaw from our world😂
