- Опубліковано 3 сер 2024
- In this video we talk bass with Spy vs Spy frontman and bassist, Craig Bloxom. We talk basses, amps, strings and more. Bloxy talks about his own Bloxy basses (that he makes!). There's a big plug for the guys at Turramurra music who came to the rescue of the Spys back in 1983.

What a fantastic interview! Thank you ❤️🎼❤️🎼❤️
Thanks for interviewing the great Craig Bloxom. Bass player & massive Spies fan. Loved his enthusiasm and attitude to life and music. A pleasure to watch.
🙏🤘
Fantastic interviews Dave, congratulations. The true essence of Craig is his fun and humility, that has been captured so well in these interviews. Brilliant. Great when you get to know your hero and find out they’re such a top bloke.
Such a great story about Turramurra music. Great store to this day. Thanks so much for this incredible interview ❤
Craig is such a humble human being! No airs and graces. Just a down to earth good bloke!
💯!!
Great series too. Well done!
Boom!!! - awesome interview with one of the best fellas
And I’m the other half of the crankin surf podcast, so lucky to chat with Blox for our little cast. My daughter has a great guitar built by Blox too
Your cast with Blox was awesome (and where I got some info - like his F# head 🤣). Great stuff 🤘
Very good and enjoyable interviews. Craig's a very interesting person. Thanks for getting the interview and sharing, most appreciated.
Exceptional interview. Thanks.
Outstanding interview with an absolute bass legend.
the Spys are one of my favourite bands ever, thanx for an awesome series of interviews! go Craig!
Turramurra Music store still has the same awesome owner. Back in the day in the late 70's early 80's it had a record bar on one side of the shop. If your lucky you will see artists like Jim Moginie or Paul Wheeler there. It's an absolute mecca for music supplies. Nice they helped Blox and the band out when their gear was stolen. ReggaeSpys sounds awesome. But it's always going to be good with Blox in the band. I always thought Craig was inspired by The Clash. It's now proven.
The best. Can still hear the bass from the shows in Melbourne. My ears have never been the same.
Great band I remember supporting them at Avalon Rsl.
That was so awesome! got to love a raw honest no ego fucking legend interview!
Turramurra Music! Legends. Got my first new amp and guitar there. Didn't get to pay em off when I could afford it tbf, but still great effort to support the Spies!
Gday Dave....a very awesome interview with Craig....
12:25 Craig: 'do you wanna have a play?' haha hell yes!!!!
AND DEFINATELY STAND UP!
Looks like he really enjoyed sitting down with you making this.......
Congrats also on reaching 1000 subscribers and of course many thanks to Craig Bloxom for B/B 1st Interview
I definitely had a play afterwards. A really nice bass!
Dave, what a legend Blox is.
Thank you for an awesome eye-opener into his life.
Cheers

Loved this series of interviews. (Yet another) Bass player and massive Spies fan who as a teenager had Blox as a major influence! So glad to see Blox getting back into some music locally.
Amazing... i'm a big fan from Brasil since 90's.
Outstanding!!
Absolute legend!!
Great guy. Fantastic band.
Great gig at Currumbin with Craig and the boys! Thank you for the pure vibe!

Great interview with Craig. Great to see him get back into it. Had a laugh about where his bass hangs, I put Fender on me one day with his strap and it was at my knees hahaha.
Could we have a part 4, 5, 6, 7.... please! What a great series. Thanks Blox for spending the time with Dave and Dave thank you for producing such an awesome series of interviews with my idol. Hope to see you in Melbourne soon Blox!
We could have kept going for hours, but Bloxy had a rehearsal to get to! 🤘. I'm so grateful for the time he gave - he's very generous.
Xenophobia was the first CD I ever purchased - so loved hearing Craig talk about The Golden Mile - what a legend. Thanks for this interview series. Part 3 my favourite.
