Tbh he did really well movement and decision wise, in the end streaming is about entertainment and he showed up to the 30 minute mark that he knows very well what to do and how to properly evade, and when it's also not needed.
I'll miss the Vampire Survivors series once he got Red Death, but I have some hope he might go for MissingNo and maybe some fun modding (like infinite weapons or unlocking all weapons for 1 run. Having 55 of them going off all the time is a kick)

Thanks for putting these videos out dex! I’ve been playing this game constantly since asmon started playing it. You’re practically the only person i can find putting out this info on the game, glad you’re getting the exposure from such a big streamer!

Asmongold has some deer DNA in him, guy panics and would run off a bridge at the sound of a limb snapping. I don't get why he is panicking when he literally made it to the 30 minute mark, got the orb, and now just needed to calmly pick the items for his build that he had on the other screen.
With the game paused he could literally just rewatch the video for the correct decisions again. He couldn't even say words! And wouldn't move while leveling up!
Because he is doing it on purpose for content.
People dont want to see him "win" they want to see him loud and mad.
He did the exact same thing in Elden Ring... playing it stupid on purpose and fake raging bc his viewers think its funny and believe him.
He even said once that you're stupid when you believe that UA-cam/Twitch is real

Dex is such a legend, that dude has an insane amount of knowledge and puts out incredibly detailed guides and information, love to see him get the attention he deserves
i've been checking Never_Nathaniel lately and the dude has huge ammount of knowledge and explains things really well. Not only he says "this is good" but he also says "and this is why" with every detail availiable.

Don't worry guys, he definitely threw on purpose. No way he accidently missed the two most important items (Laurel and Lancet) when the whole strategy relies on those two

@@karenemy1098 I love when he does that, truthfully, because it always enrages a lot of the chat. Only time it ever annoys me is when he plays Souls games lol.. but that's because he's actually good at them (watch the streams he's done of them in the past on his second channel) but he goes HARD on the cluelessness and obvious suboptimal decisions when he plays them as "Asmon", as opposed to Zack.. just to trigger the gatekeepers and make them *_REEEEEE._* Like I said, it even annoys *_me_* but I still enjoy every minute of it.
PSA: This is the failed run where he didn't get Clock Lancet. Just in case you didn't want to watch a 100 minutes long video.

I did the clerici method just yesterday and it works easy.
I would recommend to watch Never Nathaniel for that.
Its a 3 minute easy tutorial which works 95% of the time.

Yep. Clerici strat, followed Never Nathaniel's guide, did it on my second try - first try I didn't get Runetracer with the green gem. Easy.

I did not plan to beat red death, but it happened with this. Level was library. I cant remember which character, but it has growth every 5 levels or so. So i was level 140 at the end. But have everything evolved, runetracer , holy water, fire wand and guns. I think the most important was evolved lancet. and 240% area. When the red death came at 30 minutes i just go right. Somehow lancet has freeze him and also he have half health because evolve. At first i did not see that i kill him because its hard to see because 240% area, then suddenly screen zoom in, bells was ringing and white death appeared. I was lucky because it was my last revive. Also once i get to 33:45 min with red cloak or that branch evolve which limit death damage to max 10 but it did not help me in the end.
So he went with the new Reaper kill method with Leda. Nice. The 2 other most priority items i see there is laurel and lancet besides getting the starting tome.
Imagine being able to pause the game and still being under soo much pressure. Take a second asmon... Grab a Raw Dr Pepper... Take a few sips... Take a deep breath.
Actually, more stuff does spawn as you move around. That's why no WR kill videos have people standing still. the more you run, the more things spawn, and the more things die off-screen.
I unlocked the Reaper with Clerici lv2 Runetracer Library strategy before the new Arcanas were introduced. It took me 3 attempts (technically 2 becouse on my 1st try i forget to turn off Hurry).
the only reason asmon doesn't do that is it's not good content, he's looking for ways to make unlocking the red death fun to watch. or milking it as some might say. perfectly fine reason IMHO.

I have spent so much time with the runetracer strategy and I kept on failing that one over and over again because I did not get any chests and I didn't get enough kills to level up at 30min. When Toasti strategy came along, I killed the reaper after 2-3 hours of trying it with a slightly different build than in the guide. Haven't yet tested this strategy.
I managed to get the runetracer work two days ago and that one was really close one.
I haven't and won't go messing with the files to get the missingno. I'll wait for it to be added to the game or I'll just never get it. I have found out in the last 20 years that nothing kills my interest in game faster than when I start personally modifying the files because at that point I can do whatever I want so why do anything. Game loses its meaning for me with that.
The only thing about killing the reaper that makes me sad is that he just fades away without any spectacle at all.
If you do more damage you get more kills, more kills means you get more experience means you get more levels means you get more damage. It’s a circle like a carousel around and round up and down.

I just accomplished this. it was a very clean run. got lucky with a x3 chest on my 2nd chest though i lost track of the arcanas so i only found 1 which i took slash over awake. worked out because i got the kill after a 31:30 on the dot without needing a revive. i actually made it to 33:25 without a revive. My first attempt at death i hit lvl 3 at 28 mins by accident and could not kill death so staying lvl 2 seems to be huge
never use lightening ring it will auto hit the other reaper and bring them to you
If you edit files you can play the RNG survivor "missing no." I did it the other day. You add the name of a unplayable sprite then edit the save with a file patch that replaces the wrong header. Boot the corrupted game then restore back up in options menu.... just remember to copy backups If you edit files.
The exact moment he pressed thunder loop without looking at the video I cringed.

I remember my first ever run on this level, i got the green reaper at the start of the run lol safe to say i died at warp speed
Shows up with a 23% chance. It shows up, Red Death run is automatic over. Good for those still unlocking Toasty though.
Just watched Never Nathaniel attempted this method earlier today. Successful in killing a Reaper in the end.

To make it easier, you have to play aggressive until the gems stop dropping to keep a bigger area to move away from bosses to kite them into your loot zone

RNG really screwed this run - he never got clock lancet offered; it wasn't that he didn't choose it, the game just didn't offer it.

Finally got my reaper kill with toastie. Pretty much either you fail in the first 10 minutes or you get a kill. Although it did take 3 hours of just sitting at the reaper waiting for it to die.

You don't have to refund. You can just disable upgrades you don't want.
tried this strat just, everything went perfect up until about 28minutes'ish where i gathered a couple crystals and went level 3, got the perfect build and arcana's but being level 3 reaper kill takes a little longer at 33mins 30 secs and 3 reapers I lost track of the lower level reaper and lost all revivals and failed :'(
I unlocked red death with Porta. It's heavily RNG based, but you need to get Laurel up asap and stay lvl 2. Cooldown-tomes are a must have too.. hence why you'd wanna do this on the library map. This way you'll have infinite laurel charges (because of your ~90% cd) as long as you stay lvl 2.
Damn what a great run!! Very optimistic about the next episode
I feel like level 2 runetracer build has fewer variables than ballsack method, Never Nathaniel's method worked for me first try, but this is great content either way!

The advice is good at the end but I would also say avoid ALL breads, and ALL grains including oatmeal and drink water only and NEVER EVER EVER drink fruit juice. And stay away from fruit.
Love this content man the only flaws I really saw that would net you the win if done differently next time is to not pick lightning ring and to move click using the joystick while leveling up. That way you can pick up the chests and move around while leveling us so you don’t die before evolving your weapons just write down the weapons and artifacts you need and refer back to those notes when you get to the 30 min mark and you’ll be fine good luck tomorrow I’m looking forward to it

With the nerfed cats it takes about 4 hours until the first reaper dies.

@@Ashuowl toastie strats nerf hard, cat have a dmg cap now, around 100ish, before the dmg scale is unlimited... So... Lol it need like 6 hours of waiting to kill one reaper. I think asmon mention it too in this video
