Well, seeing Bacterian has brought about some disturbing Genocyber flashbacks.
I honestly like that giant eye design. They actually capture how the vessels in the eye branch out from the optic disk. really cool

Very impressive! I remember the SNES version's lag was unbearable at times, almost like the entire game ran in slow motion.
But it made it easier. At least there's a patch.
That Choking weed boss was so bad that it screwed with its graphics, parts of it would cut out or look transparent

@@lucasmr3215 I'm the opposite. I suck at Gradius 2 arcade. I usually struggle at the crystal stage lol. But in Gradius 3 AC, I can go as far as the lava stage without deaths
@@EirinYagokoro you’re more skilled than me. with excessive use of the Konami code, and on ps2 easiest difficulty, i can go as far as stage 9 with the cube rush.
That’s why they toned down the difficulty when it was released on SNES.

There are some very interesting bosses in this. I see alot of those sand beetle type things in old games but that first boss is by far the biggest one.
That Golem looks like big brain with arms.

Now I know the real meaning of Moai heads: It's the ancient rpg. The line up are boss battle while scattered heads are random encounters.

I loooooved this game when I got it for my super Nintendo back in the day... I am still convinced that the level with the super fast part and closing walls is impossible without the speed down upgrade

2:22 if gradius 5 had this bosses behaviour i would be speechless how this one gets very erratic.
Gradius 3 seems to be dangerous than gradius 4. But it has low sound effects
Gradius 4 on higher loops is said to be tougher than 3 on higher loops is. 3 and 4 together represent Konami when they really were psychos when they wanted their games to be diffiult to challenge the player.
man, i can't even beat this with four options and the konami code.

This one's perhaps the hardest of the Gradius saga. The most challenging parts is no doubt the infamous tunnel flight; one small mistake will send you back straight to the last checkpoint. And here I thought that the Ace Combat saga was the only one!!
I know this is the original game but I really love the snes version, anyways that's the one I played when I was a kid, but this one is awesome and very superior to the snes port. Thanks for sharing.

8:42 I'm more curious of how the hell you evaded the crystal blocks without barricading yourself. You probably went on full hardcore to learn their pattern (only the Y axis of their spawn is random, their X axis on when they fly towards you is fixed, as well as which one flies towards you. I only remember it's block 1, 4, 5, 8, 9... but that's it)
The final boss makes weird sounds when you hurt it.
THAT was pretty sick to watch. Love konami.
You know what? When I saw how insane bosses in this version, I think I will stick to the SNES version. I am probably will not gonna beat this game. Holy bacterinans, that was outsanding.l!

I've got Gratis three everything looks similar I've never beaten it full with options & lasers. I realize now I'm not the Gratis master.

Hi, I kinda low-key hate you rn. I haven't even made it to the third boss yet. I'm getting better but much more difficult than the SNES' Gradius game. Although, I must admit that I'm improving quickly b/c I played the heck out of the SNES version.
