I can understand why they did it tbh. I doubt its just on performance alone, although Nyck is getting on a bit now and unlikely to improve whereas Yuki is still a youngster likely nowhere near his full potential. But also, I feel like Yuki's personality really comes out well when he's paired with someone outgoing and fun, like with him and Gasly. Nyck is pretty boring and dry, and doesn't bring the best out of Yuki. Yuki is fan favourite when paired with someone who can bring out his personality.
I worked at Corwoth/Renault F1 as an engine engineer and that took me to be at RBR during the glory days with Sebastian Vettel. Even the demote / swap driver isn't anything new under that structure my thoughts were that Alphatauri needs points and that translates into a more lucrative budget for next season including the new name and eventual part ownership sale. but I will believe that Nick makes someone mad inside the red bull high table (Helmut Marko )
This could be good for all parties. It's good for Alpha because Danny is an experienced F1 driver who could potentially help them with the development of the car and he's a good benchmark for Yuki. If Daniel does well in the alpha tauri tractor, it increases his chances of getting into that RB seat. This also adds pressure to Checo. It's like one move impacts so many more people
People keep saying that if he screws this up his career is over and the certainly true. But if he doesn't drive his career is over anyway. So it's worth a shot. Especially if he's feeling good about himself right now. Last throw of the dice for him. Here's hoping it comes up trumps.
I hope he doesn't replace Logan Sargent, it's been good having an American driver on the grid, even though he hasn't scored points yet. He's done decent in qualifying, making it to Q2 a couple times.
Everyone thought that Daniel would beat Lando. He didn't. I think it's indeed disrespectful to Nyck. First of all let him finish a full season, Yuki got a second chance (probably Honda) . Also the amount of posts from f1, RBR and AT is too much.
2:29 ‘RB is ruthless..’ Not necessarily a fair remark considering any team on the grid would be the same way, and every single ruthless decision has paid off for them. They just have two teams to play with so it’s more visible. Was McLaren any less ruthless? Merc? Haas? It’s the name of the game. On top of that, RB has kept and matured the drivers they supposedly ‘axed’. They kept Kvyat for years, continued to develop Alex Albon and campaigned for his Williams seat, kept Gasly and developed him until he graduated to Alpine. In my mind, none of these actions are ‘ruthless’, they were necessary.
with the closer team up with redbull with some of the car parts coming from Milton Keynes could they use Ricciardo to bring the b team close to the front ?
Not great when any driver gets the axe but am pretty sure that Nick was probably there on a probationary/discretionary contract basis, especially considering his legal woes with past sponsors/backers. Anyhow, none of us know the real detail so we really shouldn't be so quick to accuse anyone of being... disrespectful. Very pleased for Daniel though. Will be great to have such a great character back on the grid.
Danny Ric, this is his chance. If he competes well, and scores a few points, even just a handful it would look well for him getting a seat back in the future.

Nyck not belongs in the F1 he is to arrogant he though to be in front from yuki noway..
@@RayTitske His only job was to beat Yuki and didn't . Riccardo also failed to dominate Lando and both I think relate their preferred driving style. Danny Ric likes sharp front ended cars and Nyk cars that he can drive lol It will be interesting to see how Riccardo compares to Yuki for sure.
Great Analysis as always Kym! 😊
Giving KPI's is like asking a baker to bake a cake without providing any ingredients.
If Yuki beats him pretty consistantly then it tells them and Red Bull that he is the guy they can back going forward and for Danny if he does well and he outperforms Yuki then it might show other teams he's still got it.
Is Torro Rosso coming back as the new old name of Alpha Tauri? It would be funny that Danny Ric comes back in Torro Rosso team again.
No, it’s been confirmed it will not be toro rosso or alpha tauri.
Daniel vs. Perez for that second seat at RB…game on! Checo needs to get his act together…fast! I guess this is what it takes for a ‘soft-drink’ company to be in the top tier of F1…
Kym, it was two years at McLaren, albeit long ones being 2021 and 2022.
I feel for De Vries. How many times have Red Bull/Torro Roso(Alpha Tauri) ditched their drivers? Doesn't seem like a reasonable strategy.
@Christopher-Jayden Allah chose the Jews as his favourites and Muhammed married Aisha at the age of six and took her "virginity" when she was 9. This is what it says in the Quran. Muhammed was a pedophile.
They dont care, they have a team and they can get any driver in...they only care about Max and finding the next Max ...but they cant find the next Max and they cant have the good 1-2 dynamic
Just imagining the press conference between him and Lando. 😁😁
Thank you for your insights on this,me I knew from the moment Daniel was announced for the test, that this would be the outcome if he would perform in the car and turns out,he did👊👍😍
Those tyre testing at Silverstone would have made had a lot too do with RB choice, Driving Verstappen's car Danny Ric clocked a 127.415 pretty impressive I think considering it's not his car and max's pole lap for the gp was a 126.720 and he had 2 seasons at McLaren 2021 and 22 kim
And now you understand why Lando didn't sign to drive for RB.
So what happens if Ric gets smoked by Tsunoda? Bin him after 10 races as well?
Its so cool you were able to whip this vid up so fast... Props to ya kym awaiting ur big screen debut with Brad Pitt 😂
You may be waiting sometime
Exciting times... 🍾🥂👏
🎉 Dani's BACK 🔥🔥🔥
I'm a brit and honestly I couldn't be happier. Vegas baby. I guarantee he'll be back at RB next season 👏
2:29 ‘RB is ruthless..’
Not necessarily a fair remark considering any team on the grid would be the same way, and every single ruthless decision has paid off for them.
2:59 correction - 2 at McLaren
Netflix will be stoked.
with the closer team up with redbull with some of the car parts coming from Milton Keynes could they use Ricciardo to bring the b team close to the front ?
I would love to see next year Daniel Ricciardo and Liam Lawson racing for alpha tauri next season
If he competes well, and scores a few points, even just a handful it would look well for him getting a seat back in the future.
is it true that alpha tauri will change its name next year? i tought the purpous of that name was to promote the second brand created by red bull.
I thought the deal with McLaren was they would pay him - as per contract - unless he found an alternate drive. This would seem to qualify.
Poor Checo. RB is not setting him up to be sacked, but to be exxed.
Ricciardo is a great driver, but the AT is a soapbox. He will not score points, its just not possible with that car. Nyck was send home to quick.
And so it is that the stars align, the World returns to normality and our man DR3 returns to the grid.
Where did you buy that Alonso merch?😂😂
