      Thanks! Definitely made it look a lot cozier & less industrial! 😅☺️ we’re liking it. 👍

    Good idea to add a woodstove! Maybe put it on a table or the wall to make more space to walk by? it's also easier to cook on and tend.

      Thanks!! Well the clearance requirements say it has to be a certain number of inches (I think it was 16? maybe more?) from the wall. But we did feel like in hindsight, elevating it would have been a good idea!! 🙌

    Guys, I love your woodstove. I have a Tiny Wood Stove also but your vent pipe is not rated for woodstove. It’s rated for pellet, stoves and gas stoves. It could melt and burn your home down.

    Omg 😂 the man and his hat!!!! Ok ok I agree a man needs a good collection of hats....his natural sarcastic sense of humor is definitely entertaining and top notch....I could totally get along with him for this specific "hat" I am reminded of the movie " the sand lot" the young feller that the kids question about being the "9th" teammate "small's" wicked good stuff you got for content I enjoy being subscribed to view all them funny shots and learning about houseboat life!!!

    I suggest a split air/heat system, spilt systems are so efficient you can run them on solar and much safer. It does look better with Black pipe.

    • @KeepingAfloatWiththeJoneses
      @KeepingAfloatWiththeJoneses  2 роки тому

      Oh we would love a mini split in a perfect world 😅 we’ve crunched the numbers and our solar couldn’t support it as-is, we’d need to add a few more panels & batteries. That combined with the cost of the actual unit is just way out of our price range currently. Maybe one day, or in our next house! 😉 & agreed, we’ve seen the silver pipe pulled off in some houses but in ours it just looked so industrial! The black is much cozier. 👍

    As a tiler. Flooring company. Cut the base mud it to wall. Cut the floor set Tile on a matt. Flush with floor. Loose the third tile. You logs are not slopy walkers. She knows .....no blowys. For him. Till he gets it right ❤

    At the front end Amzon has a wood burning stove tri fold heat barrier (stand alone) to protect children and furniture from stove.
    Even fire mat, to protect floor, that can be placed in the front.
    There were diferente color back boards.
    Men have favorite hats, gloves, shirts, ax, hatchet, ...
    Just so that you know there is also a Marine wood stove for small boats.
    We looked into is and it's very efficient.
    You are correct the wood stove will balance out the humidity in your neck of the woods.
    The humidity on the windows is very similar to what those that RV experience. Thus the small boat marine wood stove.
    Sarah "hat collection" is a guy thing. I have mine. To incl. various
    Ballcaps (Squadron, CV(N), SAR, RSO, SO,
    Cowboy, (Stenson, straw, felt)
    Fishermen, (grn, brn)
    Summer,
    Winter,
    Etc. (use a two hangers top to bottom w/ various hooks).
    When I saw the wall hole for chiminey.
    An idea for the nautical theme is a "porthole" window.
    Nice outdoor brace.
    12:34 consider some treated "Fatwood" and cut it into 1/3 or 1/4. It witll triple it up. Keep Amazon packing, stuff toilet paper roll and 1-2 of smaller "fatwood" (great starter). If you can even add egg carton, break off a piece and place roll on top.
    Enjoy the vid.

    Recommend checking out a Heat powered stove top Fan. I believe the heat from the stove pipe turns the blades. They use them all the time on canal narrowboats in the UK. A bunch of the narrowboat channels on You Tube. Just a thought.

    I see the stoves start at about $695 before discounts. It should be kept in mind that they will probably last a few generations. Thank you for the video.

    • @KeepingAfloatWiththeJoneses
      @KeepingAfloatWiththeJoneses  2 роки тому +1

      Correct! The one we got was the cheapest one of their line. We felt these were surprisingly reasonable prices in comparison to other sites we checked out (starting over $2k!). And you’re absolutely right, these are built to last & are an investment for decades and decades to come. Thanks so much for watching, Eric! 🙏

    Random thought....you might want to get one of those "cute" pots that sits on top of your wood stove to keep full of water to add humidity to the air. With that space being so small, it will get really dry in the winter when you are burning almost nonstop. Your sinuses will thank you!

    • @KeepingAfloatWiththeJoneses
      @KeepingAfloatWiththeJoneses  2 роки тому

      We would LOVE for the air to be nice and dry this winter! 😂 that would absolutely be a welcome problem, & sounds like it would be easy to solve if so! We’ve seen some of those little water pots on wood stoves before (& you’re right, they’re so cute)! 🙌

    Check the rating on the vent pipe looks like venting for gas not wood!!! I think you will be very happy with the wood heat!!!

    • @KeepingAfloatWiththeJoneses
      @KeepingAfloatWiththeJoneses  2 роки тому +2

      The vent pipe is actually a pellet wood stove pipe from duravent, it’s rated for 1000 degrees max continuous, 1400 degrees brief forest fire, and 2100 degrees 30-min tested. Much higher than the kind of heat output we’d have with our mini logs! 🙂👍 & thanks!! So far we are absolutely loving it, so cozy!!!

    Still using this stove? Just wondering how it worked out and how long the burn times were for you

    • @KeepingAfloatWiththeJoneses
      @KeepingAfloatWiththeJoneses  Рік тому +1

      We just sold this house last week and we left that wood stove in it! We used it all last winter though and loved it. Typically if we packed it pretty full before bed at 10pm, it would burn unattended till around 3 or 4am & then just have hot embers till morning. Won’t burn as long as a full-sized wood stove but with our house being so small & decently insulated, even if it didn’t burn all night it was rarely cold in the house by the time we’d wake up in the morning. so it met our needs anyway 🙌

    You don't put pelit Stove Pipe in won't hold heat

  • @rtoguidver3651
    @rtoguidver3651 2 роки тому +1

    The first burn should be outside (Toxins) and each burn after that let it slowly get hotter each time to temper the stove..
    I like to throw a large chunk of wood in & forget it for a few hours so a mini-stove won't do it for me..
    My pipes came black, but not shiny like yours..

    • @KeepingAfloatWiththeJoneses
      @KeepingAfloatWiththeJoneses  2 роки тому

      We made sure to do the first couple burns outside before we installed it inside! 🙂👍
      Yep sounds like the mini might not be the best fit for you then, but no reason not to have a normal sized one if you’re not too limited on space.
      If you like the shine you could always coat your pipes with the high-heat paint we used! It’s got a glossy finish.
      Thanks for watching! 🙏

    Why such a small stove You have plenty of room for a larger 1Looks kind of out of place Big pipe Little stove Somebody was thinking too hard

      it’s a 225sqft home, that tiny one was rated for over 300sqft. every time we used it we wound up opening windows it got so hot in there haha. the better question is why get a bigger one?
