Thanks for the video. Just one thing for feedback and info. I got one of those exact Mulga valves from Screwfix myself that you are using here. They are generally well reviewed on Screwfix and do have a 10 year guarantee, but the hand dials for pressure and temp are really very difficult to adjust when soapy and wet because of the design of the dial itself - almost impossible to rotate. Thought Id mention this as I would definitely question their suitability in situations where this may be problematic for some more than others. Also, the reason I am reviewing your video it that I have had to replace the valve after 10 months use as the cartridge within the valve is broke! Thankfully Screwfix will cover the replacement as it is still under guarantee. Thanks again for the video.
Thanks for this info. Up to now there have been no issues with this one I installed, however it is only a guest room so probably only used a few times a month. Hopefully your replacement will last longer. Hope all goes well swapping it over.
Good job once again, you would have thought you would be able to replace the individual hot or cold valves, seems like more expense than is needed by replacing the whole unit
I probably could have sourced a replacement part, however it will have actually been more cost effective for the customer, for me to replace the whole shower valve as I did. The valve only cost around £45 and it would have meant two visits, one to diagnose the problem and identify / source parts, then a return visit to install. As always, thanks for watching and the comment, much appreciated!
Just wondering, if the valve is linked to a shower pump, is it just a matter of closing off the flow and return to the pump and then go ahead and replace the valve? Thanks
If linked to a pump, there will probably be hot and cold feed to the pump and then from the pump to the shower valve. Yes, isolate both of those at the pump then double check you have no water at the shower valve and you should be good to go. Thanks for watching and the comment!
