    A review of the Master Grade Crossbone Gundam X1 Version Katoki.
    Review number "I'm still doing these."
    I had to cut a lot of stuff out of this review. The original audio was over 15 minutes! I mainly went into how I went about painting, some details on the gimmicks, and how I applied the chest decal. Feel free to ask any questions you have, and I'm more than happy to help you, since I feel like I glazed over a lot of the stuff that warrants questions.
    Expect a review of the Crossbone X3 soon, since it'll be a solid little 4-5 minute follow up to this.
    Other than that, I need to stay on the exposure levels. I think I put too much faith into the sensor on my camera for this review. I think it focused too much on the black background, so when I cranked up the ISO so my shot was properly exposed, the actual white of the Gundam ended up being blown out. Ah well, lesson learned.

    ** If the video isn't playing, manually set the quality to 1080p **
    Some kind of glitch on youtube's part.

    I just stumble upon your video for the first time and I have to say I really like your style; structural review with each aspect clearly separated. Also, that painting guide is very helpful and easy to follow.

      Thanks! With this Crossbone I figured a painting guide was a must lol

      A technically impressive kit, but that eye sticker made me never want to build 1/144 again.

      Too small! I know how good of a kit it is but honestly, Bandai should just scale up the molds and make the exact same RG but in 1/100.

      Blows my mind how a modern RG has better part and colour separation than an older MG
      And MG ver.ka, mind you

    May I suggest you include height comparison if possible on your future reviews! I do watch your reviews because it is simple and not lengthy! Hoping to watch more reviews from you!

    You mention it doesn’t have an issue holding the weapons, but I’m having the opposite experience. The hands on this kit won’t hold onto any of the weapons at all, no matter how I slot them in. I can feel the peg slide into the weapon, but just touching the Gundam afterward will knock it out of the hands. Really frustrating. I wonder my particular unit was just bad or if I’m doing something wrong.

    Not sure if I should go for this one or the Full Cloth. I hear that despite all the accessories the full cloth is barely poseable.

    Actually I think you can get the beam brands over the hands you just need to turn the wrists over so the fists are facing the bottom of the arms.

    Anyone else having trouble with playback on this video? It consistently freezes at 21 secs for me. No other videos are having this issue.

    • @redheadphones6
      @redheadphones6  5 років тому +1

      finalbladecrisis Yeah, I had that issue for a while. No idea why. Worked fine for 2 years, then randomly has this. Works fine on mobile, and started working a few days later. Same file format and everything as my other videos. Just a random glitch I guess.

    • @redheadphones6
      @redheadphones6  5 років тому +1

      Just did some double checking around my older videos. A lot of them have the same issue on desktop. But I've found by manually setting the quality to 1080p, a lot of them will start working, including this one. Very strange. Sorry about that.

    How did you apply the emblem on the chest

    • @redheadphones6
      @redheadphones6  6 років тому +2

      Sorry for the late response here.
      I used one of the dry transfers. Basically, I applied the decal and noticed there was a crinkle on each side where it popped up to fit the curved surface. I got my newest, sharpest, exacto blade and carefully cut a slice under the bottom of the crinkle so it could fold over itself and fit the curve better. It's a nerve racking process, but it's worth it imo, especially since you get a spare dry transfer for back up.

      Don't know. Aside from the thighs, mine's been pretty sturdy. But my MG Turn A, which also doesn't use polycaps, can't even stand up straight any more because it's so loose. T_T I guess it's just luck

      Personally i prefer the rg, however those screw whips are really cool and it doesnt come with those

    • @redheadphones6
      @redheadphones6  4 роки тому +2

      Coolio Ash It depends. With the Crossbones coming from a fairly old and debatably canon manga, the idea of ‘anime accuracy’ is kind of out the window lol. There have been takes of the weapons in gray and gold throughout the years. Personally, I went with what was suggested in the sample build in the manual, which was gray. However, I’ve noticed newer kits tend to go for a gold. It’s up to you! Regardless, judging from the sample build provided in the manual, gray is the correct color for this master grade, so thats what I went with.

    Wait you knocked down points on a model kit for requiring some painting? Lol......what.......painting is a integral part of Gunpla.

      Thanks for watching another one of my videos! lol
      Like I said in the Hi-Nu review, this review is aimed at an average gunpla fan, most of which won't do extensive painting/detailing. I've found that the people that don't care about painting or detailing tend to not really need reviews because they're experienced enough to deal with whatever comes their way. But beginners and casual fans tend to be turned off by an abundance of painting, so I make special note to mention that stuff.
      Thanks for the input though.
