The moment in the 2nd match when Bison goes for the super scissors kick and Daigo just starts a jumping motion was made even more epic by that short slow-motion effect. Good times.
in the japanese version, M. Bison is Vega, Balrog is M. Bison (Mike Bison; name changed to keep lawsuits away due to similarities to the boxer) and Vega's name is Balrog.
he's charging back as soon as the first scissor kick begins the animation. Or you can charge back, tap forward and immediately tap back+kick, and the scissor kick will come out while allowing you to charge for the next right away.
I thought that too. It's a lot more noticeable if you look at the one at 2:22, since Ryu has more health and you can see exactly how much it takes down.
Yoshinori Ono confirmed recently that T. Hawk and Dee Jay have already been developed into to pre-texturing 3D models. They might be downloadable characters or they will be in an updated SF4.
there are a few reasons why that happens...the strength of an ultra depends on how full the revenge gauge is, damage increases at a decreasing rate depending on how many hits in a combo has occured, the distance between the characters when the ultra starts...and damage of ultras are random by short amounts...in the first match inoue's revenge gauge was full.
Balrog was named M.bison over there because he was created after Mike Tyson but when the game came to US they didnt wanna get sued so they changed names around.
I noticed that sometimes before a Super Art, the camera does a showy zoom in like with Ryu, or the player does a personal action, like with Dictator, but sometimes the Super Arts are performed without that effect. Anyone know what determines that? As for the fighting, it's good stuff. Nothing less than I'd expect from these players. Dictator seems to be high tier. I hope I'll be able to get some hands-on time with SF4 soon.
That guy playing as bison is awesome man for real look at the short 6 hit combos along with his ability to fake enemy with focus attacks an false air jumps guy is preety awesome man.
lol true, but you can tell this was Daigo at an early stage in IV. His ranking wasn't Grandmaster yet then. And plus, he usually has his Ryu in his alternate color 6 but I reckon those weren't available yet at that time.
@adgjmptw4 its because its japanese, japanese version are permitted not to use M.Bison for the actualy bison character in sf series because some guy payed capcom not to or something
its probably the MOST 'worth it' thing you can do with your super bar. if you have a dp, it gives you a super-safe and invincible way to combo into ultra. it can also extend stuff into guaranteed ultras. there are a lot of ex moves that allow ultra like ryu's ex hurricane in the corner, but when youre midscreen and someone is pressuring you, its definitely worth it. dp fadc ultra has become almost synonymous with sf4.
It's interesting watching this and seeing how the top players' games have changed. I'm a Daigo fan and I learn a lot from watching his vids. He does make quite a few mistakes in this match and is much more airborne than in his later ones, where he seems to be glued to the ground.
In Japan, Balrog, Vega, and Bison had switched names because M. Bison (Mike Bison) was originally the boxer, but Capcom didn't want to be sued by Mike Tyson. So the names were switched around. Best to just say Claw, Boxer, and Dictator.
Did nobody see that this was uploaded in September, 2008? I'm not saying that's a good enough excuse for Daigo to be messing up combos, considering he's been playing Street Fighter since the mid-'90s, but it certainly would explain things.
Sakura and Ibuki were suggested as possible console characters. But they haven't been confirmed yet...... Unless you are saying Sakura HAS been confirmed recently...
@erickheadshot doesn't happen often, but Poongko also got a single perfect on him as Ryu vs Ryu I believe...and I want to say I saw him get Perfected by a very capable Akuma once...
Yes, but my point was that this was an early stage in Daigo's Ryu. Which was probably why he missed a few combos compared to today where rarely ever misses one and has over 200,000 BP (Grandmaster ranking)
the names were altered because m. bison sounded very similar mike tyson, and with both being a black boxer, they were afraid of a lawsuit or something. i don't know the full details, but that's the jiss of it
That is true but that also means the person will be set in their ways, which can get really bad when someone figures out how to pick apart their style and exploit it
it's low punch x2 -> medium low kick - SC Kicks. and if doing it w/o focus... can throw a ex Cancel and juggle him wiit dash repeat low punch x2 grab (or head stomp if it lands go all out with punch after head punch should be stuned by all that) if blocked head stomp move your char back.
Allright, so somebody PLEASE tell me. Is this "Inoue" the player who is also known as Kazunoko who is the no.2 Yun in AE behind Daigo in the Japanese arcades now? If so, it would make a lot of sense.
Look up Daigo vs. Choi. He MURDERS him with Balrog against a projectile spammer. With or without a "shoto" (ryu/ken based characters), he will find somebody, and this game is still kinda fresh in the arcades.
He has the most BP, and the best record in Japanese Network Play. That doesn't mean that he doesn't lose though. He lost to RF in the JPN National Tourney, but he won several other significant tournaments, and he's still the first seed player.
Well, its just that its not like him to miss links like the SRK into Ultra. And I remember he always played with the alternate costume. So I'm not so sure if this is really him. Just my thoughts, no offense intended.
this was daigo, in the beginning when sf4 first came out. so thats why he made lots of mistakes, but if they played again i think things would be a lot different. but trust me its daigo just in his early stages of sf4
that little 2 hit combo in the air he did at 1:46 with bison, how long did he have to charge for that ultra to come out? it looks like he didn't really have to charge that long right after that air combo. i know he was charging in the air but that was really fast.
No... lol It says LINK MATCH . In the arcade , two player is only possible by link , meaning connecting to a different arcade cabinet . It is nothing like online either , since it's no lag and its right by .
Man i was so excited for sf 4 but after playing it for a good while it just didnt give me the same feeling as when i was playing super street fighter 2 turbo
Lol that's not a taunt, it's just the animation when he starts off his Ultra Combo. Super Art is the term in SFIII, but in SFIV there's the regular Super Combo and the more powerful Ultra Combo.
Honestly, i understand what your saying and where your coming from, but i've been there, and trust me, your underestimating them. Style is not an option.
the firhting in this game looks great!!! some people said that the fight system was like sf2 but looking at this match i can tell it better the sf2 and sf3
This is either not daigo or he's having a really off day. Usually he moves alot faster and doesn't make too many mistakes. I've never seen him come close to getting perfect'd
at 0:35 thats the first time ive seen daigo mess up on a fadc to a metsu he usually gets it every time but he ended up doing an ex shoryuken, i guess even pro's make mistakes.
inoue is mimicing the touch of death ST bison, while this used to work when the game was newly released, now that poeple have learnt to deal with it, a lot of the stuff that's shown in this vid is really easy to counter
Yes i do this is a VERY old video.I remember see him try it out the week it came out and he couldnt really get the hang of FADC, he could do it but his dash was a lil stuned cuz after his FA, he wont DC for another moment @.@ But this is Daigo, has his play style just...Slower Its much more enjoyable to watch Daigo play agasint Momochi or Shiro @.@ cause he loses
Haha i mained in 3rd Strike Urien and since i needed a new main for SF IV i picked Bison because inoues playstyle was so amazing that i wanted to try bison also.
Just because Daigo is really good doesnt mean he can't lose. Good job making him seem like a god, Inoue is obviously a great Bison so the two were matched great.
Bison(Vega, the Dictator, whatever) really rock in SFIV. I allways knew how to play with him, but never used him very often But using him in SFIV is really awsome, usefull weapon aganist Ryu/Ken/Gouki(Akuma)/Dan/Sakura in my opinion
Even if this was an early SFIV play by Daigo, one thing is for sure: Inoue is a beast with Bison. My main is Bison, and i can perfectly see how skilled his combos are, no piece of cake for sure. Anyways, if this was an early play of SFIV between them, remember the fact that Third Strike had parrying, and IV has FA. This involves two very different playstyles, and some time to adapt, too. I believe that Ryu's Daigo for sure, even pro's make mistakes sometimes, and they also need to adapt.
Man I wish people still played Bison. The fact no one does use him besides one good player that I am aware of is the only reason I force my self to stick with him in my local ranbats.
Well after reading all the comments I believe its Daigo, but just because of the comments. The fighting style is very different then the ones from his other videos. He is normally MUCH more aggressive, and in this video he barely tries any of his super combos.
Very good Vega matches! Thanks for upping them.
Awesome Vega. Vega's one of my favorite characters in the series, nice to see him rock Daigo a bit there.
he's charging back as soon as the first scissor kick begins the animation. Or you can charge back, tap forward and immediately tap back+kick, and the scissor kick will come out while allowing you to charge for the next right away.
I thought that too. It's a lot more noticeable if you look at the one at 2:22, since Ryu has more health and you can see exactly how much it takes down.
Check 3:26. It's a regular Super Art, but he does his personal action. It looks like it might have something to do with hit confirmation.
Yoshinori Ono confirmed recently that T. Hawk and Dee Jay have already been developed into to pre-texturing 3D models. They might be downloadable characters or they will be in an updated SF4.
His EX headstomp is anti-air, like Vega's when he jumps and hits the dude before hitting the wall? AWESOME!
there are a few reasons why that happens...the strength of an ultra depends on how full the revenge gauge is, damage increases at a decreasing rate depending on how many hits in a combo has occured, the distance between the characters when the ultra starts...and damage of ultras are random by short amounts...in the first match inoue's revenge gauge was full.

I hope I'll be able to get some hands-on time with SF4 soon.
@Narutofan103 look at the date of the video, it was when sf4 was released
yeah, whenever you punch or use a move you can press medium punch and medium kick at the same time and it cancels it to a focus attack (used to combo)
In the Japanese version, M.Bison is Vega, Vega is Balrog, and Balrog is M.Bison. They switched the names to avoid a possible lawsuit from Mike Tyson.
Look at the date this was uploaded...this match probably occurred early September, or August.
@adgjmptw4 its because its japanese, japanese version are permitted not to use M.Bison for the actualy bison character in sf series because some guy payed capcom not to or something
@fearandloathinginNY hey, look at the date of the video, it was right after sf4 was released
at around 2:00 - 2:03, the jump in fk and then jump in mk is brilliant. the spacing was perfect.
its probably the MOST 'worth it' thing you can do with your super bar. if you have a dp, it gives you a super-safe and invincible way to combo into ultra. it can also extend stuff into guaranteed ultras. there are a lot of ex moves that allow ultra like ryu's ex hurricane in the corner, but when youre midscreen and someone is pressuring you, its definitely worth it. dp fadc ultra has become almost synonymous with sf4.
Yeah, did you see the final round of the first match. That was just insane.
It's interesting watching this and seeing how the top players' games have changed. I'm a Daigo fan and I learn a lot from watching his vids. He does make quite a few mistakes in this match and is much more airborne than in his later ones, where he seems to be glued to the ground.

the revenge/ultra combo can really turn tides when used correctly.
I believe this was when the arcade just came out, last year. U cant expect him to have mastered the game before release.
good question, there's moves that wall break a focus attack but I don't know more than that
Still love watching this in 2019! Hope that for PS5 or other consoles they will bring back SF4 or USF4!
this must of been when daigo was still learning the game, hes not beasting like he usually does.
plus he hasn't got his alternate costume yet lol
Did nobody see that this was uploaded in September, 2008? I'm not saying that's a good enough excuse for Daigo to be messing up combos, considering he's been playing Street Fighter since the mid-'90s, but it certainly would explain things.
Sakura and Ibuki were suggested as possible console characters. But they haven't been confirmed yet......
Unless you are saying Sakura HAS been confirmed recently...
yeah that was classy timing, id love to see his handwork on the timing of his charges
@erickheadshot
doesn't happen often, but Poongko also got a single perfect on him as Ryu vs Ryu I believe...and I want to say I saw him get Perfected by a very capable Akuma once...

Nice control of Dictator.
Isn`t the damage of the last attack at 05:52 a little bit too big?
Allright, so somebody PLEASE tell me. Is this "Inoue" the player who is also known as Kazunoko who is the no.2 Yun in AE behind Daigo in the Japanese arcades now? If so, it would make a lot of sense.
you can tell this is 2008, daigo actually missed a FADC>ultra at 0:33
Look up Daigo vs. Choi. He MURDERS him with Balrog against a projectile spammer. With or without a "shoto" (ryu/ken based characters), he will find somebody, and this game is still kinda fresh in the arcades.
wow well played really enjoyed watching this :)
isnt the guy on the left name bison? i dunno much about sf4 but i thought his name was bison and vega was the claw guy?
This game was so badass 😢
Bison always makes matches interesting with his rapid mind games.
@ 0:35 Did Daigo just miss his bread and butter uppercut/canel to ultra? . . . looks like it. . .
He has the most BP, and the best record in Japanese Network Play. That doesn't mean that he doesn't lose though. He lost to RF in the JPN National Tourney, but he won several other significant tournaments, and he's still the first seed player.

It does look like it, but it's the close st. RH from Alpha/Zero 3 that Ryu and Gouki had
PC makes good for styling on people.
Ex. FA(3) -> dash forward, s.hp, ex pc crossup -> mix mix mix.
that little 2 hit combo in the air he did at 1:46 with bison, how long did he have to charge for that ultra to come out? it looks like he didn't really have to charge that long right after that air combo. i know he was charging in the air but that was really fast.
hehe i know that.
it just makes me feel better knowing that someone as good as daigo still misses his links from time to time.
DAIGO'S BACK!!
And how does M.Bison do that long jump without charging for 2 seconds
thats really old news...he played in nationals and btw these matches are not from a tournament
For early game play, this is some pretty clean execution by Inoue.
at 1:30, inoue PURPOSELY leaves a gap in his pressure string to bait Dragon punch?????
Top tier tech, right there.
No... lol
It says LINK MATCH . In the arcade , two player is only possible by link , meaning connecting to a different arcade cabinet . It is nothing like online either , since it's no lag and its right by .
Man i was so excited for sf 4 but after playing it for a good while it just didnt give me the same feeling as when i was playing super street fighter 2 turbo
of course it is look on other videos for same matche they show them before the match.
In japan 3 names are different.
M.Bison in America is Vega in Japan
Claw[Vega] in America is Balrog
And the boxer Balrog is M.Bison in japan.
As an addendum, to avoid confusion, most people call the Shadoloo leader 'Dictator,' the Spaniard 'Claw' and the boxer.. uh.. 'Boxer'
Lol that's not a taunt, it's just the animation when he starts off his Ultra Combo. Super Art is the term in SFIII, but in SFIV there's the regular Super Combo and the more powerful Ultra Combo.
u dont see to many dictator players like that. that was just ridiculously awesome
Honestly, i understand what your saying and where your coming from, but i've been there, and trust me, your underestimating them.
Style is not an option.
Watching this is like watching poetry in motion. Freaking beautiful lol.
the firhting in this game looks great!!! some people said that the fight system was like sf2 but looking at this match i can tell it better the sf2 and sf3
practice, and a solid community that shares information.
yeah i'm curious on what the pros think too.
Looked it up. UAY!
Strange that she is still in her sailor fuku though...
Cammy, Fei-Long, and Dan are already confirmed for console versions.
how do you change the position that pisons down punch thing comes down at .
Best Bison iv'e seen... awesome bait on wakeup when he does slide to ex head press :D superb!
Ino was so on point in those matches, no wonder he defeated Daigo in CVS2 @ Evo '03.
The camera zooms in for Ultras but not Supers.
yup at around 30 secs he misses the ume-shoryu into metsu hadouken...he doesnt miss one of them today...
This is either not daigo or he's having a really off day. Usually he moves alot faster and doesn't make too many mistakes. I've never seen him come close to getting perfect'd
just tech it. can't you anticipate? plus grabs have start up frames now.
Focus Attack , it can counter an in-coming attack from the other player
why the ultra combo tkae some time big life like in the first match and sometime it take so low damage like de first round of second match ?
at 0:35 thats the first time ive seen daigo mess up on a fadc to a metsu he usually gets it every time but he ended up doing an ex shoryuken, i guess even pro's make mistakes.
How does M.Bison do the ultra without charging while going back, he does it immediately OMG!!
inoue is mimicing the touch of death ST bison, while this used to work when the game was newly released, now that poeple have learnt to deal with it, a lot of the stuff that's shown in this vid is really easy to counter
is inoue even still playing havent seen a vid in months
I hope there will be an option to do that in consoles.
Yes i do this is a VERY old video.I remember see him try it out the week it came out and he couldnt really get the hang of FADC, he could do it but his dash was a lil stuned cuz after his FA, he wont DC for another moment @.@
But this is Daigo, has his play style just...Slower
Its much more enjoyable to watch Daigo play agasint Momochi or Shiro @.@ cause he loses
How does m.bison dicator do his devils reverse so quickly with out chargin
Haha i mained in 3rd Strike Urien and since i needed a new main for SF IV i picked Bison because inoues playstyle was so amazing that i wanted to try bison also.
@adgjmptw4 u do reilize that bison is vega in japan right?
DAMN! got a perfect... makes me see Bison (Vega) in a whole new light.
That Vega was pretty sweet.
Just because Daigo is really good doesnt mean he can't lose.
Good job making him seem like a god, Inoue is obviously a great Bison so the two were matched great.
Bison(Vega, the Dictator, whatever) really rock in SFIV.
I allways knew how to play with him, but never used him very often

Well after reading all the comments I believe its Daigo, but just because of the comments. The fighting style is very different then the ones from his other videos. He is normally MUCH more aggressive, and in this video he barely tries any of his super combos.
This was also almost a year ago too lol
Why is Vega(Bison) being called "Dictator" for match purposes? To avoid the name confusion?
On 2 occasions Daigo tries to tech a grab attempt on wake up and is punished by EX stomp.
