Wow that would be dope. Imagine playing elder scrolls for the first time with zero idea of what the game is abt. A guide like this wouldn't have spoilers but it would show you generally all the skills you should focus on to be good and get all teh loot. I've not played too much samurai showdown as well actually. Shame bc i really loved the original arcade game as a kid
Kof XIV is my first KoF game and its really hard for me to find any info on it right now. This video is great at teaching me the core pacing and strategy of the game. Now to find some combo vids or wikis with actual annotations!
I'm not even playing, I was able to win games just by watching the first 8 minutes of this video. Sure, I have experience with other FGs. But, KOF is a different beast. This video is so helpful and expedited my learning process of the game. I'm now playing KOF '02 and KOFXV and I feel MUCH more comfortable and know what to do in this game. I've been playing for just a week now and this is probably one of the best FG experiences ever. There's something about this series tbh. I love SF since it's my first real try-hard FG, 3S specifically. That said, KOF is something else.
KoF 98' is my all time favorite fighting game of all time and I owe all of my thanks to this ingenious video that broke down most of it's basic systems. I used to play a little of KoF in the arcades, back in the day, but struggled to understand it as it was different from what I was used to (Street Fighter mostly) had no idea that it would become my absolute favorite fighting game series.
very well made. almost professional level. kyo talks like if it was the real kyo from the kof series and this help me get a better feeling of kof games.
Professionally well done, and I can't believe how much that helped me, and i've been playing KOF for years. Yes I knew about most of what was in this but being explained in such a well constructed manner really helped. MUST WATCH FOR ALL FIGHTING GAME FANS
This is easily the best guide for a fighting game i seen. Never player Kof before (mostly because no one ever talked about it) but this is definitely giving me some knowledge on the game when i get to it.
This is old. And it's fakken fundamental. It's a manual, a KOF bible reminder of the basics. It's profound than just the tutorials from Kof14. Thank you very much. I hope KOF14 didn't take down what this teaches and the future like KOF15
I laughed when Kyo said. "If you speak English and you play fighting games, chances are you don't play much KOF, right?" ahahahaahaahahaahahahah yeah basically.
KoF and GG are games I've always wanted to get good at, but have never been able to. KoF 98 on Switch, Fightcade and Steam plus this tutorial will be a big help. Thank you very much.
+AMVGFan i see where your comin from. At the end of the day,it really all boils down to what your comfortable with.Or in my case, who you have the most fun playing as. Honestly,if it wasnt for the majority of KoF games having team specific endings,i would have Kim in every single team that i made. I honestly love how Kim plays. His moveset is overly complicated, but it is elegant in its simplicity. He's always been my favorite SNK character, and will continue to be. Also, im just glad this guide exists. Its hard enough to get people to play fighting games these days(let alone ones that don't have palette swapped ninja's,tons of gore, have 4th wall breaking mercenaries, pit video game mascots from a single company against each other, etc) and a guide like this helps. Yeah, KoF is technical. Nobody ever said it wasnt. But when you dig past all the different kinds of hops, jumps, character specific combos,DM's and SDM's and the massive character rosters,it really is just a fun fighting game at heart. No more,no less.
Hi, I got Kof 96 some months ago but it was too difficult for me and now I wanted to learn it again. That video helped me so much! Thank you very much brother And God bless you!!!❤️❤️❤️
Thanks a lot dude. I love KOF since I was a kid back in 94 but I never got some mechanics quite right. You have explained it really well and it has been helping a lot.
Very informative. I'm definitely coming back to this guide when KOF XIII hits. Now, all I need is some money, and a confirmation that those loading times won't be much of a problem anymore.
Woooow! This was an amazingly made guide! It not only showed me some tatics I can use in other 2DF's, but it showed me how DEEP KOF is! I had no idea there was so much potential for mindgames and the such. I play SvC chaos but I had no idea about all the stuff you covered in this vid! 5*'s!
this is such a gold. I used to play 98 as a kid and recently went to an arcade parlor. I have forget the nitty gritty of the game however, I am happy that I was able to dish out desperate moves.
Thanks for the video, hopefully this can help me with my struggles. Don't know why but I just can't get a handle on how to approach KOF14. It's my first for the series. I've never had such a difficult time with a fighting game.
I've been playing sf for years, well. I cannot play this game. It destroys me. Edit:literally after watching the videos first tutorial about neutral I started to win arcade matches in garou with Rock. That's when I noticed how significant light to heavy combos are and why the buttons are mapped this way. It feels so different constantly dashing forward and backwards instead of tapping forward constantly for pressure and pokes and then cycling back to a block state. (Like SF.) After watching this video I feel significantly more comfortable with the games as whole because before I was looking at them completely wrong. These games are way more complex than their peers and you made great tutorial for it, and for the first time im really enjoying it. :)
@@ThusSpokeSpooky For sure man. Specials are naturally different as is a lot of characters. And he wears a bomber jacket! Haha) But, neutral and concept wise, absolutely. Dude I'm still a beginner too lmao. There is no Dunning Kreuger in the fgc because we all get the whoopin sometimes lol and constantly learn. The games are all free on gamepass and available on steam and ps as well. Edit: also if you play DBFZ, Master Roshi was just released and he has the KoF hops! They are essential!
Pretty cool. Never played a KOF game, but this little tutorial makes me feel more comfortable stepping into one. I could never get that short hop motion down. Maybe will have better luck using the tricks you've shown.
