I saw them in concert on Feb 15th, 3rd concert location after this concert in Biloxi. It was a great concert! I had NO idea who Arnel Pineda was. I listened to Journey in my high school days (late '70's - mid 80's). I was BLOWN AWAY by Arnel's strong voice, and he sounded just like Steve Perry!❤️ Their music took me back to a wonderful time in my life, when life was so much better than it is today!❤️

I remember all those yrs ago, when they found Arnel right here on UA-cam. Everyone was like, "no way! It will never work without Steve!" I love SP, and I still miss Greg Rolly too, but Arnel sings every bit as good as Steve, and IMHO, sometimes better.
Although Arnel performed well I can tell there’s a difference in his voice compared to when he first started with Journey. I watched him perform live in 2009 and I was impressed. However, 15 years later I can tell there’s a difference in his voice. He cannot hit his high notes the same way he did before. But that’s ok because that’s part of aging. He’s now 56 years old but still going strong. I will always be a fan.
I guarantee there's a difference in any aging singer's voice, even Steve Perry. Had he remained with Journey, he wouldn't sound the same 50 years later either.
My son Matt now 40 spent his first 2 months of life listening to journey. He was a very mellow baby, this guy is good closest I've seen to Steve but there is just a purity in Steve's voice no one can duplicate. Janette 63 and still hopelessly devoted to you.
Arnel Pineda fills really BIG shoes covering Steve Perry's voice,and I agree that he definitely sounds like Steve,but will never be Steve Perry obviously. The shoes he fills still keeps the 80's Journey music alive still today. Oh the memories back then are bitter sweet ones,and I know were all greatful Arnel keeps the music alive with his no doubt amazing talent to fill the shoes of Steve Perry's vocals.
