@@bigtexas7580 thank you!!! I was thinking that maybe there was different attachments for the bigger engine. I'll be getting mine tomorrow with a cultivator.
I was informed to grease the shaft for maintenance on these machines. Ever hear of this? They said to remove the coupling, remove plastic sleeve and shaft and grease around the plastic sleeve so it has less friction and won’t burn the plastic
Sorry about that. It can be challenging as a dealer. It feels like we’re “upselling”. But ultimately it’s a service to the customer to at least share the option.
I like your presentation. You're not wrong about the pride you have in owning one of these machines. Chuck some Stilh HP Super oil in the petrol to keep it stable for up to 6 months.
I run a Stihl and Husqvarna set up, in my opinion both companies make the best tools. My HS81R is a freaking legend though my combi is a 535LK! Just bought a pair of PB30'S as I'm sick of substandard loppers.
I have the KM131R very powerful tool nearly 2HP at your finger tips and i love how compact it is it is a little heavy but the weight disappears as you get use to it and with it being a 4 mix it uses half the fuel that a 2 cycle of the same displacement does.
I bought a 131r this morning, woulda loved the kombi head but it didn’t even come with at least a string trimmer attachment . For the same price of a complete 131r trimmer . I couldn’t justify paying another 140$ for the trimmer attachment just cuz they cut a shaft n put a coupler on it to fit other attachments.
I just bought the KM 131 R and a few attachments. Love them so far. Very high quality and powerful. Upgraded from a Husqvarna 128LD with a couple TrimmerPlus brand attachments. That storage rack you showed to hang them on the wall. Is that something only your store has or can I get it anywhere?
One thing I wanted and couldn't find was chaps for wearing in hot weather. Won't run the line trimmer without long pants, face shield, and a soccer player's shin guard on my forearm. Didn't know about the garden mulcher or blower....
I believe the Stihl introduced a pair of chaps just recently that or lighter in weight songs to assist in reducing that heat factor than normal Chaps bring.
Can you tell me if the Stihl head, will fit Craftsman attachments? I tried calling a local store and they didn't know. Google searches giving mixed messages too.
@@Carlsmower Yes, exactly. I have a craftsman chain saw, string trimmer and tiller and my craPsman motor died. RIP. Looking for a better one to replace it.
By no means does Stihl recommend it and if you damage the coupler it would not be considered warranty. That said we have many customers who run Craftsman attachments on their Stihl power heads. Just know the Stihl will wear out the craftsman attachments quicker because they aren’t made to handle the power.
@@Carlsmower All good to know. Most of my attachments don't get used much so as they wear out I can replace with stihl parts. I think this is a good plan. Thanks for the replies.
@@Carlsmower Thanks so much for honestly answering this question. This information has proved very difficult to find online and is the one thing that has held me back from buying a Stihl Kombi power head so far. As a homeowner, some of them are only used a handful of times per year anyway.
You will get an answer just not immediately I need to do a little research I am pretty positive that the driveshaft and drive tube for the 220 is slightly larger than the standard machines so that option may not exist I’ll do my best to get back to you
I have a fs94rc great unit and you can grease the gearbox.....also I have the kombi for hedge trimming and I have the line trimming attachment but there is no grease nipple or anywhere I can grease the gearbox.
Are you talking about greasing the gearbox on the line trimmer or the hedge trimmer. There was a short time that some of the Kombi line gearboxes were non serviceable. The hedge trimmer should have a screw you can remove to add lube.
Anyone know if the you can interchange the heads with just one shaft. For example I have just the edger head. Could I buy the straight line trimmer attachment and remove the auto cut head and attach the edger to it?
The gearboxes are interchangeable but there is no savings if you already have the Kombi. Generally people with just the trimmer FS.... will buy the different gearbox attachments.
Thanks. I have most of the gearbox heads which I use on my fs91 but wanted to buy the kombi engine so I can put the carbon fibre shaft extension on it for the pole saw. So if they can interchange then I will buy the bed redifiner attachment which I don't have and just keep switching the heads on the end of the redifiner pole.
They will make your neighbor jealous, no doubt. Don't ever leave anything Stihl sitting out unless you've got your eyes on it. #1 sold #1 stolen for a good reason!
I love the mom I system but I always wonder why didn’t Stihl put a grease fitting screw on the trimmer head but when you buy a string trimmer there is a grease screw on the trimmer head. I guess if the gear box ever goes bad you could just replace the kombi trimmer head not the whole unit
We have had customers do it. It works well with edgers, brooms, brushcutter, line trimmer, and cultivator. Not so well on hedge trimmers and polesaws. Also the price is not cheap to convert over.
Agree, run the gasoline out and store it with trufuel - moto mix by sthil. I have 5 chain saws and store them when not needed with trufuel and have had no carburetor problems. Myself I like the dedicated tools better.
