Hello ! Than you for your classes 🙏

No. I do a lot of martial arts and weight training, running, swimming and lots of burpees, pull ups and push ups. Qigong helps me move through the pain and heal and recover more quickly from training. 🤙

Hi, I have a question. All the times I heard a noise on the exhale, does that mean your mouth is open on all these exercises? I have been doing some qiqong under this one instructor and it seems we only breathe out of the mouth on purging exercises. So I just want to make sure that on these, the mouth is open on the exhale for these right?

Yes that is correct. In most cases any practice with an external aspects such as a pushing there is an exhalation through the mouth. And yes this is a practice of purging and detoxing but this type of practice also generates internal and external power. Anytime you are doing a meditative type of practice where there is very little exertion then there is no reason to exhale through the mouth one can breathe in and out through the nose. Or simply not emphasize the breath at all just let it do what it's doing. Anytime we exert an effort such as in a pushing motion or twisting or hitting a baseball or punching like in karate we exhale through the mouth and contracted the abdominal area. Soft-style people will say that is not chi gong. Because they hardly emphasize the breath that way because they don't need to because they are exerting little to no effort. The moment the level of effort goes up the brass needs to be an exhalation through the mouth. I am generalizing but overall this is true. And for example when it comes to falling such as in a martial art practice the moment one hits the floor one has to contract and exhale immediately to prevent broken bones. One can be very soft when it comes to certain chi gathering practices as long as the practice is still a very internal focused with very little to no exertion. My personal style overall is mostly using purgation practices followed by stillness practices in which the breathing is in and out through the nose
