Another great job, Jimmy! I believe it is possible to replace only the temperature sensor, to avoid buying the whole mirror - it should be an NTC, that can be bought at any electronic parts store, after confirming its nominal value on a working mirror, with an ohm meter.
not really some thing the average person or even mechanic is going to try to do. you can, of course find a matching sensor, but not one that will mount easily and it's too much work to retrofit. by the time a mechanic will spend on trying to adapt and mount a part, the cost for the original becomes cheaper than the additional labor.
@@JustMe-Dude Yeah, you have a point there. I tend to reject this trend of expensive parts being made disposable, when they could be easily repairable.
Good job Jimmy, I’m surprised you don’t get more motor homes to do because of some just doing lots of short journeys. Will your ryobi compressor work the dpf gun?
the exterior temperature sensor is available off eBay on it's own for a tenner, but of course that does mean stripping down the mirror to fit it ...
the alternative is to just cut the sensor wires and solder in the new sensor and tape it to the door skin. Leave the existing sensor in situ.

Hi I had fault code 2643 blocked dpf on focus edge econetic 1.6 tcdi and engine light was on. I just used a tin of this in the sensor put some shell v power diesel in and drive for an hour and the engine light has went off itself reading no codes. Is that normal I thought at least I would have to delete the codes there was two both the same 2463 fault 1 and 2463 pending and now they gone safe to say I’m happy 😂
@ORileysAutos the codes came back can you tell me is it just a matter of clearing the blockage or will I need to look at the codes?
I fixed mine by adding diesel additives then checking normal oil level then topping up with diesel premium then giving it a blast on the motorway. Foot right down. Over 3000 rpm for 45 minutes. Unplug battery overnight. sorted.
Turning on the AC is another trick.

Yeah you can try that. There is an option to force a regen then to click on replaced dpf to make it think it's ok. If you think about it it's right it needs stuff to pass through it for it to clear hence why I now use diesel premium and diesel filter cleaner additives and give it a good motorway run once a week.
Umm not looking good for the cheaper launch mot and kingbolen k10 is it as that’s rather a lot of times you’ve had to ditch em for the big boy 😁
Seems most diagnostic tools under 2.5k are mostly gimmicky to me 🤷🏻♂️

Mate i have a vehicle with the same engine with a check engine light on DPF 400% full DPF sensor showing 0 mbar {ordered a new sensor} checked the plug all good readings have the gun and Launch cleaning fluid ready to change the sensor and clean the DPF had the Autel and Snap On scan tools on it to see if it would reset the soot value no joy any ideas where i go from here?
drive it and it should eventually measure the correct soot readings.
Probably needs reset via a scan tool. It's a calculated value. Sort it, clean it, reset it.
re-set it with what? i;ve had two top end scan tools on it and both were unable!! @@alexanderhughes1540

What i get from what ive seen so far, you dont get many faulty Crafters,Transporters, Etc. So are VW vehicles actually better?
To be honest I do refuse a lot of VW as they always have very difficult underlying issues when a DPF blocks. Like the EGR cooler that is around 12 hours labour to replace

Even the local National tyres and Halfords branded garages are cowboys, with low quality repairs, but over priced. The feeling of ripped off after each visit..
im in the midlands, and most of my family use a mobile mechanic, he has a Launch tablet sized scanner too!
