    After getting the ferry from the Isle of Arran back to mainland Scotland, we had issues with the motorhome again.
    This time it was the motorhome going in to limp mode as we had a blocked DPF.
    The diagnostics came up with codes P2463 and P246C.
    In this video Karl shows you how he cleaned the blocked DPF and what he used to clean it.
    Our motorhome is an Elddis Encore 255 on a Peugeot Boxer cab and is a 68 plate model with Euro 6.

    Glad to see someone used both a strong alkaline cleaner and a strong acid, they both break down different byproducts of the dpf.

      Thanks very much. I did my research before doing it. It did help for a while but we had to get a new one in the end. Thanks for the comment. Karl.

      @roaminginraymond surprising, did mine around 8 months ago, backwashed mine around 30 times for several hours, and used air as well. It dropped from 250mbar to 50 at 3k idles a 6mbar now as well. Did you reset all the parameters in the ecu after you cleaned it??

    • @roaminginraymond
      @roaminginraymond  7 місяців тому +1

      Yeah did all the resets. Unfortunately it was all broken up inside. Great to hear it worked well for you as these things cost a small fortune to replace.

      @roaminginraymond yes they are ridiculous price for a proper original one. The aftermarket ones often fail as well. They have fewer restrictions, which the ecu doesn't like so it throws a code again.

    Looking an interesting method. I used to clean out 2 x stroke engine exhausts by putting paraffin inside and then putting them onto a bonfire. Showing my age now. I am hoping I never have to use your method. But if it works why not. Thanks for sharing. Cheers from old George

      @@roaminginraymond The good old 2-stroke days.. I have played with many a 2 stroke exhaust silencer trying to put bigger outlets pipes on them to get about half a horsepower out of the engine lol

    Hi- did you diagnose the faults yourself with a diagnostic tool? Thanks

    • @roaminginraymond
      @roaminginraymond  10 місяців тому +1

      Yes, he's an ex mechanic so already had diagnostic equipment anyway. But he knew what it was without the diagnostics. These DPF issues with the adblue are an utter pain in the A! We also don't know if doing what he did in this video worked, as we had issues after this. He said realistically you need it cleaning professionally or a new one.

    So what type of vans / engines have a dpf filter I have no idea if my Ford custom has one lol - not seen posts stating challenges with them

    • @roaminginraymond
      @roaminginraymond  2 роки тому +1

      Karl said virtually every new diesel vehicle has a DPF filter. They're designed to cut emissions. It started in around 2005 we think.

    Did the fault codes stay off once you had cleared them? If you use a product called Oilsyn Hybrogen (not Hydrogen) that helps keep the DPF clean by adding the product to the diesel fuel.
