Im hopefully getting a Skoda Citigo Monte Carlo Im 16 and hoping to get my theory done this year and my test + car next year insurance is £132 a month for 9 months
Hi guys, I'm 21 yrs old and got my first car (a Ford fiesta st line red edition). Insurance is with more than, was quoted £2.3K, called them a negotiated down to £1.7.K. which is pretty decent considering that I work in an estate agency, my area isn't great and I have no ncb. Best thing to do is call and negotiate!
B7 TMY I don't know what kind of retail job you work in. But I find it hard to believe that someone your age can afford that car, all those mods, insurance and running costs. Without being heavily subsidised by your mum and dad. You give false hope to impressionable young people.
Admiral are good to be honest. You can log in online and request a quote for different mods and they get back to you really quick. Was £19 to add my Mountune Catback to my ST.
Joseph Quirke i have been with them first year of my driving i was on provisional licence and my partner was first driver the insurance was 170 a month when i passed my test called them they put it up to 306. on a 1.4 golf 80bhp
To get cheap insurance make sure to do quotes 3 weeks before and not the day before and make sure to check back on those quotes every week; you'll see that it'll go cheaper and cheaper every week. If you do it the day before they charge thousands because insurance companies know you need it desperately. My insurance was quoting £1300 with 4 years of NCB, I managed to get it down to £840.
spot on with the job role mate, im a heating and vent apprentice, if you put you work for the fire service etc, it drops quite a bit, where you live is the biggest factor though. i live in leeds, and if i put i live in scarborough, it drops by atleast £500 depending on the car.
Adrian flux were brilliant for me. It's more expensive in a locked garage as theoretically if a thief was to break into you're garage they could be in there all night working on getting into your car without getting spotted. On a road they have to be quick and more chance of being seen
No it's more expensive for a locked garage cos every fucker lies on their insurance which means when their car gets stolen from the road it pushes up premiums for everyone who ACTUALLY has a locked garage, cos they lied when they took the policy out.
Locked garage is rated higher as the companies view it as a higher risk, someone breaking into it is no different to someone breaking into your car on the street, but it's what else is in the garage. If you park in there, then you might drop something off a shelf, the door might close on the car, you might walk next to it and bump something into it etc. Best insurance tip is straight up to be honest, they will try anything to get out of paying, & yeah multi car is banging. I used to work in admiral and it's honestly insane how much it saves you.
Not just that but if it's parked in a garage attached to your house, it's obvious the keys will be more than likely somewhere in the house, where as if you park your car on a public road, you could be parked 4 houses away making it harder to distinguish where the keys will be.
Well your typical garage has alot of junk in it something falls on your brand new car and puts a good dent in er your more likely to claim because your excess is cheaper than the repairs
I said i worked as air cabin crew they get it cheap, also do it on a thursday or friday cus when companys havent made alot of sales they drop prices to end the week well
everything depends on what car you get and where you live tbh. if you live in a very congested area like London for example, you'll be spending so much doesn't matter what job you have. just because your car has a very high chance of getting nicked or damaged. that's why you have people putting there insurance addresses outside of london because its less populated therefore the less the chance of your car getting stolen. but for some reason a vaxhuall corsa comes out at a great price in london.VX corsa 2017 LE comes out as just over a grand. so you really wanna drive then thats your best bet. but if you want to get a good first car and you're not in a rush then just wait a year and get that 1 year ncb and you'll see a big difference in price.
Here in Canada (Ontario), the bigger the vehicle, the cheaper the insurance (at least for my insurance company) .....of course it also depends on your driving experience, record, and area. When buying a used car, better pick the biggest you can get(engine size dont apply). Also check and see if the vehicle has high theft. For example, to insure a mustang or camaro here would be way cheaper than your fiesta ST. As for SUV vs pickup truck, the pickup would be cheaper because its in the "commercial vehicle" catagory. :)
Lowering springs indicate you may be more iterested in speed and handling than just posing with an aftermarket exhaust. Also...if you crash on your own on a bend for example you're more likely to be travelling faster = more damage!
When you’re referring to the garage being more expensive. I asked that question, the reason behind that is if the garage was to collapse the vehicle would be ruined. I found that saying you park your vehicle around the corner from home at night, and a secure public carpark in the day; it brings it down, mine came down £800. Just from that, also when you say change things, change what you can legally comply with. But not too much or they clock you fiddling with it then you are screwed, some insurers will disappear and the ones left will be high prices. That’s on compare the market 👍🏻
Hi mate great video. I work for Adrian Flux and you are correct in this video! The whole end of the month is a myth. It's all based on claim stats.. example when you was saying about scaffolders. They are very high on claim stats compared to a sales assistant which is good. Great videos keep them up. Toby
I'm currently 20 years old too and I found a way to get cheaper insurance too: Got my brand new 1.4 corsa in 2016 when I was 18 and I paid £855 on the day I drove away with my car and last year I paid £700 for insurance without a black box. The way I did it was putting my first year on Admiral Multicar with my parents' car and having them named drivers. My parents had to change to admiral for 4 months and paid £80 for their car and I got mine for 855. The second year I used my 1st year's insurance quote to find cheaper deals (as with any insurance company they'll drive the price up and hope you just pay) then through comparison websites and got 700. My next quote is looking ~580-630 so definitely worth a look into multicar with your parents if they're okay with it!
19 and had an ST at the start of the year, cost me £1,300 with 1 year ncb. Crashed it, lost my no claims and now insured on a fiesta 140ps and that costs me £1,500 - think I got lucky haha.
I got a 2014 Mercedes A-Class A180 D Sport. My insurance for the year was £1800/£2000 I can't really remember. Big tip, my first car was a 1 litre 18 year old little nissan micra. Then I'm in a 1.6 sport. They see that as I can't handle a faster car because I'm experienced on a slower car. So, be smart with your upgrades.
Great vid. Compare the market has always worked out cheaper for me over the years. I get a round about price and then ring the insurer direct telling them I've had a cheaper quote (never give them a price) just ask them to run you a quote and 9/10 it'll be cheaper than it was on the comparison
On the road is cheaper than drive or garage. Do a quote as far in advance as possible at least a month before. Dash cams put up insurance. Make sure you get a like for like quote. If you are up for renewal and your looking around you will need to make sure they are the same. Having one named drive is cheaper sometimes than two. Anything incorrect WILL invalidate you insurance. If you claim and you want to cancel your insurance policy after you will still have to pay for the whole policy even if you are less than 14 days in to it.
Price comparison sites can be very helpful. My insurance cost slightly less through Compare the Market than when I went directly to Hastings, plus now I get 2 for 1 cinema tickets and exclusives meerkats toy.
absolute legend you saved me £1500 on my brand new porsche 718 insurance with elephant by putting my parents on the insurance and by saying its on my drive... £1100 for a 20 year old. thank you bro
The locked garage is more expensive because of the algorithms they use. If 90% of the population picks third party only insurance for example, then the fully comprehensive becomes cheaper than third party. So do not assume anything in an attempt to make your insurance cheaper and fiddle around with the settings as you say and you might end up with a fully comp insurance when you only wanted third party in the first place
I believe the reason it's cheaper roadside than driveway or garage is because car thiefs now break in for keys, if it's parked roadside they would be unsure which house owns it.
For me - the biggest factor was postcode (like by orders of magnitude more expensive). Insurance these days is bonkers mate - don't even get me started on the blackboxes they're forcing on young drivers.
Maybe just insure a car which isn’t brand new and powerful, start of low and gradually buy better cars, suck it up and stick a black box in for your first 2 years, not only does it save you money but helps you learn to drive more efficiently and safer on some policies. I’m 22, 2 years no claims (both years with a black box) Started with a 05 KA and now driving a 2005 Mazda Mx-5 for £490 per year on Admiral.
Got a Fiat Bravo 1.9 Turbo Diesel (2008) and mine will cost me £1200 with no NCB for my first year. There's barely any of these cars on the road so they're not at all high in crash statistics making it an incredibly cheap car to insure.
My 1.9 turbo diesel for my first car is £95 a month to insure fully covered including every additional add on... such as windscreen cover, break down cover... and a personal layer if I have a crash...
I remember paying £900 on my 1988 0.6 litre Citroën 2CV back in 1997! 😯 It's great now im 39...paying hundreds of pounds a year! Good things come to those who wait...or who are loaded! 😂
reason why its ore expensive when you say your car is parked in a locked garage is because most people say that for their insurance aswel and when they crash, the system sees that people who park their car in a locked garage overnight have more crashes.
All comparison websites I found slightly increase the price, as they want a bit of the money. For a 17year old first time driver, there should only be a few companies to consider: Black box - ITB or Tesco No black box - Churchill If you can’t afford the Churchill quote, change your car or get a black box. Simplw
Cheers for help I’m getting a Celica and comparison helps to see price of Insurance I have looked at 6th and 7th gen Celica seems older 6th gen cars are much cheaper. I’ll try to haggle when I phone the insurance company thanks for the tip.
I never understand why some people pay so much. 2008 BMW 135i fully modified (over 400bhp so it's not a slouch) and claimed on insurance. Told them about my speed awareness course aswel and I'm 21 and I'm with admiral and had no issue with mods. I'm playing £1400 with 3 years ncd. Also if your using comparison websites, after every quote clear your history and cache. Took me a couple of days to get it cheap, other quotes were like 5k so you can get lucky
Any lad my age (19) should just be using brentacre insurance. Visual modifications are free, no blackboxes and they're cheap. Just payed £2400 for VXR insurance with them and I've only got a years no claims
When i was younger i was quoted crazy when i bought an Escort XR3i The price was based on if i got a Taser along with a Rottweiler and slept in the Car I made a joke back when they gave me the quote i told them i was not selling the car Insurance companies are just a licence to print money
I’m 17 and I’m driving a 2017 seat Leon cupra r and I’m insured on a range rover and their is no way of getting cheaper insurance unless you get a Mercedes on a business package 👍
Yea, as a mechanic, my occupation increases the price as they think as a mechanic im going to tamper with the car and make it more likely to be unreliable, etc.
A locked garage comes up more expensive because they see it as if they can get in s locked garage to steal your car they’re not just going to take your car they’ll take possessions too
???? And exhaust makes no difference to handling but lowing springs do ... if there fitted incorrectly you can do some serious damage.... my first car was a ford escort xr3i 😁 £450 a year the joys of being old lol and if you dont care about the payout for your car dont declare mods ...
It is more expensive to keep a car in a locked garage as it is private property so it is addition cover required on your insurance, where as if it is kept on the public road then it is covered under your bog standard insurance policy. (This is my understanding of it from what I've read, could be wrong)
Yet another reason England is a dump extortionate insurance prices! In New Zealand I can insure my 4L v6 Holden Ute ,modded, lowered ,rims ,sounds ,tints exhaust, aftermarket ECU for less than 1/4 of the price of your shitty old lady’s car. The uk is shit everyone drives around in little 1.2L Cora’s and Vauxhalls and think they have a fast car the place is a joke lol.
How would I go about getting insurance if I’ve had cancelled insurance before and how would I approach it I’m 19 and only been driving nearly a year with no no claims built up yet
I just got quoted £480 for my Astra SXI, have been looking at getting a new car in the next year or so and got quotes of £900-£1200 for 63-65 plate Golf R's, GTi's and VXR's. I can get 63 plate Audi A3 S-line for £600 and this is after having two accidents one from over 5 years ago which I don't have to declare and small crash from 2 years ago, don't see why people pay so much I've never paid over £700 and I'm 23, don't see why people pay so much compared to my situation. Never had a black box either, did a quote the other week for a 2005 Ferrari F430 for a laugh and it came up at £1300 I was pissing myself😂
How to get cheap insurance - buy a car with insurance you can afford. You’re welcome :) lol. 😂 Other than that - Toyota Corolla SR, £1100, 22years old. Next is a bmw 320d insurers quoting £1300, not bad, affordable 👌🏽
Your job is a tiny proportion a massive factor in insurance is you policy start date if you do your quote to start 2 weeks ahead of time instead of doing it last minute this can literally save you thousands especially if your under 25
Adrian Flux were the only ones who would insure me for my skyline at 21 years old £1700. If you mod your car you care more about it, this is how Adrian flux see it.
Wow bro this is painful. I’m 20 and registered my GMC Yukon and my Porsche 911 (business owner, got extremely lucky) for full coverage and I get charged $551 a month in Texas. Yes that’s around £4700 a year but we’re talking about two brand new vehicles. I do wonder why it was so much more expensive in the UK. I couldn’t pass my UK test first time and we have 15 year olds on the road here yet it’s cheaper
For anybody wondering I use Infinity auto insurance. No claims but only been driving for a year. Got a similar quote from State Farm. But chose infinity because 24 hour service
i drive an elephant, insurance is only 4 bananas
Haha that's so funny
😂😂😂😂
Looooool
Just laughed lol
saqib hussain 🤭 trying to not to laugh but I did

Big fan of this guys trim, barbers down my way can't do shit
Hi guys, I'm 21 yrs old and got my first car (a Ford fiesta st line red edition). Insurance is with more than, was quoted £2.3K, called them a negotiated down to £1.7.K. which is pretty decent considering that I work in an estate agency, my area isn't great and I have no ncb. Best thing to do is call and negotiate!
This video has randomly become very popular and I can’t keep up with the comments but I hope it has helped some of you guys out with your insurance!
B7 TMY end ov the moon g tru
B7 TMY I don't know what kind of retail job you work in. But I find it hard to believe that someone your age can afford that car, all those mods, insurance and running costs. Without being heavily subsidised by your mum and dad. You give false hope to impressionable young people.
yes g
3rd year 2year ncd £311
the key is to bullshit
Admiral are good to be honest. You can log in online and request a quote for different mods and they get back to you really quick. Was £19 to add my Mountune Catback to my ST.
Joseph Quirke i have been with them first year of my driving i was on provisional licence and my partner was first driver the insurance was 170 a month when i passed my test called them they put it up to 306. on a 1.4 golf 80bhp
Jozef Hurny same mate I was 760 on leaner insurance now 960 on my own car fiat punto 2007 Im the full owner

Bmw 120D 2013, i oay £99 a month & im 19 with direct line no ncb.. 💪🏾
J Dubbz black box?
spot on with the job role mate, im a heating and vent apprentice, if you put you work for the fire service etc, it drops quite a bit, where you live is the biggest factor though. i live in leeds, and if i put i live in scarborough, it drops by atleast £500 depending on the car.

Daddy my insurance is due on that car you got me 😂😂😂😂
Chris 2017 do You speak English
Agree get daddy pay it for you like this guy did... I'm 31 and an ST to insure is £1700 with low excess
Jealous much😂
Brandon Yeates stating facts can't make you jealous

TheActionModz *Your name is TheActionModz* I highly doubt you are a partner to Adrian Flux mate. Go home
abstractnova Yeah, what team you on man?
Toby Pleass Adrian Flux is rubbish for insurance. Quoted me as if I was driving a Ferrari. Tossers!
Well they insured me on my S3 for £1000, compared to the next closest quote of £1600+ lol
ZeusAC93 sounds fishy to me
I'm currently 20 years old too and I found a way to get cheaper insurance too:

I’d want tommy to make a video about all the insurance companies in the uk that do modify insurance
bet that car gets rammed full of fanny
19 and had an ST at the start of the year, cost me £1,300 with 1 year ncb. Crashed it, lost my no claims and now insured on a fiesta 140ps and that costs me £1,500 - think I got lucky haha.
Daily Dose Of Davis how you crash man?
LewisAO driving like a bit of a prat down a bumpy country road - destroyed a load of small trees and went into a field - was great.
Lucky as fuck I crashed my Ibiza FR this year insurance paid out and I got the exact same car but now I’m paying £1,700
I live in Birmingham.
With 2 years NCB I have been quoted £5,000 to get insured on a Ford Fiesta ST.
Had a ratted and slammed 1967 beetle as my first car, £1400 fully comp and all claimed with Adrian Flux. Damn fine deal.
I got a 2014 Mercedes A-Class A180 D Sport. My insurance for the year was £1800/£2000 I can't really remember. Big tip, my first car was a 1 litre 18 year old little nissan micra. Got a zr 160, 1st year driving in uk and got insured 450 a year, comprehensive on classic insurance.☺
Sponsored by mum and dad lol
😂😂🤣
All depends where you live! If your in london expect to pay a lot lot more or certain areas in the country!

The best is doing illegal insurance.
Leon Lalo and how lol
I really don't want to pay 3000 for a shitty Ford Focus, would rather have an integra or some shit
MiniAssassin I'm having to pay nearly 3000 for a shitty 1.2L Corsa, I think they mistaken my Corsa for a lambo
Ben Dover I think most of them just lie and that's how they get a cheaper insurance.
Yellow Waffle is it easy to get away with lying about not having mods like exhaust kit, rims and turbo
Price comparison sites can be very helpful. My insurance cost slightly less through Compare the Market than when I went directly to Hastings, plus now I get 2 for 1 cinema tickets and exclusives meerkats toy.
You drove down my road a few days ago, that's how I found your channel
absolute legend
you saved me £1500 on my brand new porsche 718 insurance with elephant by putting my parents on the insurance and by saying its on my drive... £1100 for a 20 year old. thank you bro
mattysfreerunning hairdresser
Woop insurance is great for young drivers especially with no NCB. They also do unlimited mileage (black box of course)
Thanks for this got my cheapest quote for a a3 at 1.4k the mileage isn’t unlimited though
When I was 19 I had a Saxo VTR and it was £1500 per year. I'm 33 now and I drive an old Civic Type R EP3 and its only £275 fully comp.
The locked garage is more expensive because of the algorithms they use. Any lad my age (19) should just be using brentacre insurance. Visual modifications are free, no blackboxes and they're cheap. Just payed £2400 for VXR insurance with them and I've only got a years no claims
I'm insured with admiral , fully modded BMW 325i (remapped, exhaust system, etc etc), 1.6k and I'm 20 so this is accurate
Great video, I wish my insurance would be that cheap
When i was younger i was quoted crazy when i bought an Escort XR3i
The price was based on if i got a Taser along with a Rottweiler and slept in the Car
I made a joke back when they gave me the quote i told them i was not selling the car
Insurance companies are just a licence to print money
I’m 17 and I’m driving a 2017 seat Leon cupra r and I’m insured on a range rover and their is no way of getting cheaper insurance unless you get a Mercedes on a business package 👍
I would advise to use Chis Knott also, play Chris Knott and Adrian Flux off against each other .. both specialise in modded cars.
Yea, as a mechanic, my occupation increases the price as they think as a mechanic im going to tamper with the car and make it more likely to be unreliable, etc.
Thats a fuck boy car

Fiesta st insurance isn’t bad at all most companies don’t even ask if it’s an st and your just paying for a 3cyl fiesta insurance
A locked garage comes up more expensive because they see it as if they can get in s locked garage to steal your car they’re not just going to take your car they’ll take possessions too
17 y/o male, mk6 fiesta zetec s. Got a job at M&S🙄 pay £1300 a year. But have a good postcode.
I work at M&S too with a Mk7.5 Red edition and I'm only £700, at 18 with 0 no claims

It's all logarithms sometimes you do look at the right time and it's really cheap and then an hour later its very experience
I’m 19a nd I’m paying 3000 a year with a black box on a standard fiesta tdci and that’s cheap for me😂

I reccomend woop cover for a 17 year old with no no claims it is 1438 for a 1.6 vtec sport honda civic
wreckless 501 that depends on where you live though
Daventry and cars are robbed all the time here
Make sure you put better brakes on your vehicles as that will help with your insurance i know this as someone i know has a 600hp evo
18yo and paid £683 fully comp on my corsa. Admiral for those who want to know.
???? And exhaust makes no difference to handling but lowing springs do ... if there fitted incorrectly you can do some serious damage.... my first car was a ford escort xr3i 😁 £450 a year the joys of being old lol and if you dont care about the payout for your car dont declare mods ...
151CHAVIN I'm with you mate. 1st car Nova SR 2nd XR2I 3rd saxo VTS
I don't think this is a very good video
I'm having trouble just finding someone to give me a quote, they all turn around and say they cant quote me.
It is more expensive to keep a car in a locked garage as it is private property so it is addition cover required on your insurance, where as if it is kept on the public road then it is covered under your bog standard insurance policy. (This is my understanding of it from what I've read, could be wrong)
Lad love the vids,I’ve got the same model and do u have any trouble with your stereo
I got a quote for an ST with 2 years no claims bonus from Adrian flux, which came back at 2k with a smart box or 4K without 🙁
I got the same but what i did was If you add a parent as an additional driver it brought it down to about £750
Use chilly drive app. It's like a black box but my insurance on a 1.6l TDI DS3 is less that 2 grand
I’m with sky insurance 22 years old 3 years ncb Nissan GT-R and it’s insured for a public road
I got an A3 1litre for £1500 at 17?!?it’s really all to do with the time you buy it, changes 24/7
Nathan Coulter
What company ?
How would I go about getting insurance if I’ve had cancelled insurance before and how would I approach it I’m 19 and only been driving nearly a year with no no claims built up yet
Garages are more expensive as alot of accidents happen with the car getting damage going in and out.
Really good vid mate
17 years old, ford fiesta 1 litre ecoboost turbo, £650 no blackbox
If the car is in a locked garage and the house burns down then ...
The reason why its more expensive to insure a car in a garage is because they have to fix the broken locks when they break in and steal the car
I'm 17, 64 plate mini cooper 5 dr, £750 with Tesco black box no bull shit
A female car
@@jckedwards65 oh no in so offended 😑 it's a first fuking car what do you expect an rs5
@@Naspirated sly did I hit a nerve?? And 'females' tend to get cheap insurance
@@jckedwards65 yeah tbh most females cars I've been in they're shit drivers. But yeah true. Also merry Christmas man !
@@Naspirated merry Christmas buddy hope you got that RS5 😉
How to get cheap insurance - buy a car with insurance you can afford. You’re welcome :) lol. 😂
Other than that - Toyota Corolla SR, £1100, 22years old.
Next is a bmw 320d insurers quoting £1300, not bad, affordable 👌🏽
Lad knows what he’s talking about tbf, sound lad

Sean sean cheers mate gunna give it my best shot. Good luck with yours, what did you fail for on your first attempt?

Your job is a tiny proportion a massive factor in insurance is you policy start date if you do your quote to start 2 weeks ahead of time instead of doing it last minute this can literally save you thousands especially if your under 25
Adrian Flux were the only ones who would insure me for my skyline at 21 years old £1700.
If you mod your car you care more about it, this is how Adrian flux see it.
How much insurance did you pay for the m4 ?
Anyone with Tesco bank box, how do you check the score for speed and other scores. It only shows the mileage on the portal.
But chose infinity because 24 hour service
you can be a named driver and get no claims with learn direct and either coop or sainsburys insurance one of the two.
It mostly depends on where you live
