- This week on Hauk Machines the body for the Bilstein Unimog arrives back at the shop with a fresh new coat of Sting Gray paint, and final assembly begins on the project. Kenny and crew bolt on all new Hauk Designs armor pieces including modified front & rear bumpers, skid plates, side steps, and a brand new Warn winch. New seats from TMI are installed as well as a custom fabricated roof rack complete with Rigid LED Lights, a new Targa top from Bestop, and numerous random accent pieces from Mountain Machine and Expedition Imports.

I hope mine turns out half as good when I'm ready with it.
It's like everyone just puts the biggest possible tires on anything, period. With portal axles on a Mog like this, you get crazy clearance (equivalent to a 50+ inch tire when running 40s). Unnecessarily big tires only raise the center of gravity and impede articulation.
The Bilstein Unimog is sweet, they should put some Fox Shocks on it and make it even better! 😁
