so sick dude. just got a new frameset and am so excited to get it built up when it arrives. recently got into fixed gear and im addicted
Thank you so much bro! Happy for you also! What u got there??
@@ericmaternofficial I just got a state bicycle co 6061 Black Label v2. The new wutang collab. Looks super sick hyped on it for sure.
@@roach2107 thats is SICK bro! Love that frame! Black and yellow right? Nice one!

@@ericmaternofficial yes i also ride, i ride a single speed gravel bike. Im from thailand! :)

I'm not into fixed gear bikes, but that definitely looks great. Even the video editing was awesome to watch right down to the blacking out the video frame on the beat of the music.
Thank you so much bro! Fixed is super cool to ride, you should give a 2nd chance hehe glad you liked my edit also ❤️🔥
That was a joy to watch. Awesome bike, mate.
Thank you so much Justin! Cheers 💥
My opinion is not worth much but that was a perfect bike build. Refreshing to watch. Cheers and thank you.
Oh Brian that means a lot! Really! Thank you 💝🥰 I’m really in love with this bike 👌
Great video man! nice work and that bike looks excellent. liking the G&F hype. LETS MAKE CONTENT!

and also the video looks super good, you're an artist
Thank you so much!
Yea in the last part I did a quick ride around the street, but I’ve been using the bike since then and it is incredible 👌
Love the build!
Cheers bro 🔥
Brooo what a dream build....
Cheer bro! I’m loving it!
this is so satisfying to watch :D it's just perfect
Oh bro thanks for that, I felt the same when recording 🤩

gorgeous build man.
Thank you so much bro!
That’s awesome mate
Cheers bro! 🍻 é noissss
Great vídeo.!!! Gut gefilmt.
Que vídeo legal. Gostei. Da hora!!
Danke schon ☺️
Awesome build!! Deep rims always looks super cool 😎
Cheers Bro! I always wanted to get those deep rims! Let’s see how they feel in the windy London weather 😅
@@ericmaternofficial well whats the verdict on that?
Windy here as well. I opted for lower profile rims recently though not for that reason and my previous ones weren't as deep, only 48mm I think. The wind didn't bother me with them.
@@ericmaternofficial how deep are they
@@Nathan-zs9cd 88mm bro 🎃
Sicckk! Btw why you don't use a -7 degree stem? i think -7degree stem are the perfect match for the build but still sick build though. 🔥🔥
Cheers bro! Actually atm I swapped that one from the video to a Thomson X2 -10° bro 😉 But I’m still looking to find a -17° one 🔥
What bottom bracket are using bruv, cuz i want to get the pistard air but i do not know what miche bb to get
Hey man! This is the Niche Evo Max BSA
Wheel review would be tight, I see these listed everywhere and people always give mixed reviews in how they really are.
Hey mate, I wish I could talk more specific things about it but I have no clue on how to build wheels and all, but it’s not making noises, not bent, and riding good. For what I can tell after a month is that they are amazing for the price bro. I don’t ride in the track, so for my experience jumping sidewalks and crazy ridings around the city, I would buy them again. The wind is kinda crazy in London now and pushes me a lot, so I’m always w both hands on the handlebar holding it down so I don’t fly 😂
Hey bro are those Ebay Carbon wheels reliable? How are they to ride?
Exactly! Got on ebay for £289 the set. I’m really enjoying them mate, look really solid. The hubs are super basic though, but I’ll keep using them like this. I would buy it again, if that’s what you’re asking 😉
Uh la la, chulada!!
Obrigado mano! ❤
Does anyone know the part number of the ratchet that is used in the video please ? Also very good video and it seems to be a very fun bike !
Thank you mate! It’s a very cool bike to ride indeed!
The ratchet is 15mm, was that your question?
Hey will a Thomson X4 1.5 stem 95mm 0* fit ? Im also building a vortex. Thanks
Yup yup 1.5 is the go to for the modern frames
how are the wheels holding up? i'm considering buying a pair but im kinda skeptical
Had any issues with it yet! They look really solid! The hubs aren’t the best but they get me to places 😂
Should I apply grease?
ALWAYS 🧚♂️
where do you learn about all of this
Messing around, watching videos and asking people. I think thats one of the reasons I love riding fixed, it’s so simple and easy to understand it.
全速力を漢字で書いてあるのかっこいい!
Ohhh I never knew it was that! Thanks!
hello, im new to fixie and i wanna ask if having a thick tire (not thickslick) makes it more hard to skid more than a thinner one? thankyou
Hey bro, I don’t think the thickness makes it harder, I think the kind of tyre or rubber makes the most difference. Like with this 28c gatorskins I feel much harder to skid as a pair of thickslicks with the same 28c. Plain tyres is what you’re looking for.
@@ericmaternofficial thankyou so much!
When you buy the wheelset, is the fixed cog already on the wheel when you take it out of the box?
Hey mate, yes it came screwed on but I removed to lube it properly. I also remember I could choose which size of cog I wanted.
Is there specific wheelsize to get im also building a Engine
Just go for 700 wheels, tyre limit is 28c
great build!!!! how long did the shipping take?
You mean the wheels right?
I bought in November and they arrived in January, so about 2 months
Are there deep rim wheels for mtbs as well? Im quite new to cycling since i just got a bike from my brother. (I am planning to buy a rb this Christmas)
Hey mate, I can’t confirm that to you cause this ones are track rims with fixed cogs on the back. I’m pretty sure you can get something similar to the Enve’s for cheap in china market though
No brake?
What are brakes???? 😶🌫
Wooow! Brings me the memory of that guy touching my Duck!! 😰
Yeah that was a nice Foie gras 👌
my dream bike :)
Cheers bro! I’m so glad my dream is real now! Soon you’ll get yours ✨
@@ericmaternofficial insyallah
hey just coming around and i was gonna build a vortex with the same crankset what size bb did u use 68 x 42 or 68 x 46?
It’s the Miche Evo Max for Oversized spindles of 24mm diameter, Thread 1,370 x 24F inch (BSA) ☺️
How were you able to skid with SPD pedals, I'm having a hard time with them because they clip out at times and they're the only option have.
@@Hakuratallica hey mate, are you using a good brand? I never had big problems with the shimano ones, they also have a tension adjustment that you can make it harder to unclip
@@ericmaternofficial I'll try adjusting the tension and changing the attachments, thanks. Gnarly build by the way
@@Hakuratallica cheers mate! Yea do that, should be fine
What size bike ?
This one is a size Medium 54cm
nice bike!
what frame size is this and how tall are you btw ? :)
Thank you mate! This is a medium frame 53 seat tube C-T, I’m 1,71m tall. Fits really nice!
Great video link for the wheels would be much appreciated thanks
Of course bro, I think they’re really well built, still loving them after a month riding 🔥 www.ebay.co.uk/itm/272662663729
hi how much did the frame cost
Hey bro, I paid £400 used here in London
ю камеры
bro you are the second owner
@@user-sp1ey8qn7t yup! It was brand new!
Sorry, one question, completely new, same price 👍🙏🙏
Oh I don’t know bro
How are the 88s feeling with the wind as of recent? Thinking of getting the same ones but not sure if it’s suitable for London
Mate I did some long rides and it’s safe to ride, many times you just can’t take both hands off the handlebar otherwise you’re pushed, so that sucks a lot, I’m kind of always making an effort to do a straight line too. But beside that, when sprinting I feel I’m super fast and gets me moving and the sound it makes is sick too! If you want my advice I would go to something smaller than that, like 60mm which still looks cool and will be better for the winds around here 😉
what tire use for 8.8 rims
Those are gatorskins 28c. That’s the max I can fit in the frame though.
I ride G&F what color scheme is this..?
hm did you spend for this awesome build😩?
Hey man, was around £1000 buying most things used from ebay
what is the name of the bottom bracket that you used?
Hey bro, it’s the Miche Evo Max for Oversized spindles of 24mm diameter, Thread 1,370 x 24F inch (BSA) ☺️
Is it flat frame?
What do you mean bro?
The type of the top tube
Sloopy , flat and persuit right?
@@mazdatsuki5275 ohh you mean like the angle of the top tube, in this case I’d say it’s flat / horizontal
Ok thanks
Nice build. How much does it weigh?
Thank you bro! I don’t have a scale but I think it’s less than 7kg 👌
I'll drop you on my single speed,any time,lol!!!!! 😆

Nothing expensive
Mavic Ellipse or something from Miche, aluminum of course! I ride every single day,and I got that clumpsy nature! 🤣😁 Your build is awesome, I can't afford something like that! And, it's been a very long time, since I've rode a fixed gear bike! SS is better for my legs, being 39, so pretty old! 😂😁
@@kris4645 mavic looks great in every bike indeed! But you have a point, after these 8 months with the bike I prefer a slightly smaller rim wheelset. I ended up buying some Stayer ones 60mm that looks fantastic. That will be on my next Dream Build 🫣
Funny thing, now this engine11 is my wife’s comute ride, and I swapped it to SS and put some miche express 😂
Can i know what size this frame and your height?coz my height is 173cm
This is a 54cm frame, I’m 1,71cm and it fits both os us great bro 👌

total weight of this build?

@@ericmaternofficial i’m sure it’s more around 8kgs with those cheap 88mm Chinese carbon wheels. No light components on that bike
How many mm is that? I feel like my 50mm rims is small just by watching this vid😂
Haha 50mm are super nice, but yea this 88m feels like those disc wheels also 😂
@@ericmaternofficial our biggest enemy is wind😂 ride safe dude!
@@frxsti1304 Indeed! Still alive tho! Cheers bro!
What’s fixed gear
It’s the type of this drivetrain. The cog is fixed so you can pedal forward or backwards. Because of that you don’t really need brake pads because you slowdown just making opposite force against the forward motion
Plus it's the Best bike for speed like Track cycling they use Fixed gear no brakes heavy gear big muscular riders aside from all that fixed is the lowest maintenance of all bikes which is good if you don't want to cry Buying parts
wheigt?
7.4kg
Hi Eric, what spokes did you use for your wheels? Thank you.
Hey mate, to be honest I have no idea 😂 I bought the wheels already build from ebay(china)
@@ericmaternofficial Oh, ok thanks. Just liked how thicc af they look haha.
@@FBflashbomber yea they are aero spokes
Please learn proper way to use torque wrench. epic build!
What have I done wrong? I always used it like this…. Cheer mate
@@ericmaternofficial Go slower and stop immediately after the click. Idk if you kept going after it but sure seemed amd sounded like it✌🏻
@@eurobeatmachinist732 oh yeah makes sense. What I normally do is set my torque to a bit lower than max, like my stem which is 5nm, I use my torque set with 4nm so I have a gap and don’t over tighten it
Also, the torque set on the wrench, will only be reached if you grip it at the handle. Firm grip, not loose. I've had to teach this to a lot of apprentices along the years. (20+ years as an aircraft mechanic)
What is the name of that wheel?
Just carbon 88mm bro, www.ebay.co.uk/itm/273933698806?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=78auDSzORBm&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=bg5upv9csp2&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Whats that brand with the sad looking faces?
It’s “God and Famous”, super cool brand from NY 🔥 check’em out
i want to ride a fixie
Yea bro fixed is the best ❤️🔥
Go ahead but be careful tho cause it's quite dangerous for beginners especially if you don't know how to brake
How much is this kind of fixed gear?
Hey bro, around £1000
Very nice build, well done, mate! I have the same wheel set (quite tricky with the valves though), and now also opting for the Miche Pistard Air :) Are you happy with the crankset?
Thank you bro! Yea the valves took me quite a while to learn them… when I was recording the video I had to stop, go to Decathlon and buy some valve extensions haha thats way the video got darker when putting the wheels together. It’s working pretty great now. Do you removed the the valve core? Or you just leave it opened(my option)? I’m a fan of the pistard air, my mistake was buying it 172,5mm, so it’s a bit too big for track and crit races…. Apart from that all good.
please dont clamp the top tube, aluminum bikes can deform if you clamp the frame. most bike shops clamp the seatpost.
Thanks for the tip bro! It really makes sense 😉
Sorry but aluminum is too tough to deform from clamping With a little force enough to hold the bike 😂😂 shops just clamp the seatpost Because They can focus on most parts like example fixing a road bike They clamp the seatpost Because they can Work on Cables derailleur they can reach it well in fixie We clamp the top tube Or seatpost depends on how we like it fixie don't have Cables that's why we don't clamp the seatpost we instead clamp the top tube but don't worry Aluminum is too tough to deform it needs Tons of force or weights to deform an aluminum And plastic clamp don't have Much force to deform an aluminum it has a force of 5-9nm enough to hold the bike
@@Jay-Jo4580that and there’s extra padding on it too so I don’t know what this dudes issue is lol he acts like it’s aluminum foil
@@christianishima7098yes it's not aluminum foil it's aluminum alloy

And i have the same frameset engine 11 crit d 2018. Do i need to put some spacer to the non drive side?
Hey Bro, that’s not happening to me at all, since I built it its been great. I would say the thing is to remove it, clean it well, grease it and put it back, with the right torque if you can 😉

Awesome! What’s your dream bike??
Is this a real Novatec wheelset or custommade?
Novatec are the hubs, the wheels are Chinese carbon fiber. It came all together when I bought it from ebay(China)
DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUDE! Awesome build man, beautiful.
Oh maaaaan thank you!! ❤️🔥
dangggg🤩
🔥 🔥 🔥
How much was the whole build..
I was holding to do that math for my peace of mind, but since you asked I decided to put everything together and I spent £1046 on everything. The handlebar was excluded because it came with another bike and I didn’t purchase it. And I got basically everything used from ebay, if not it would be at least 1500 pounds. Well I guess I’ll just go do some extra working hours because I though I had spent £800 on it 😂
I'd like to recommend to put locktite on the Miche Adapter and then put on the cog.
I’ve never had any issues with it getting loose just using regular grease thought. Did have problems with it?
@@ericmaternofficial It did not happen to me, but mechanics at a bike shop that I trust recommended me to use locktite. Without locktite metal is touching meta, and the cog and adapter can wear out.
@@andrassanislo2321 but that’s why I use thread grease for these type of parts. Cogs are things that we swap a lot so don’t see a point of glueing it there, also cause there’s a locking to avoid it getting loose.
Sometimes I like to swap it to different wheelsets for exemple or use threaded cogs, so glueing it doesn’t work for the way I ride.
But I think if you’re really not changing it at all, loctite might be an extra safety thing.
Do you know where you got those 88mm rims? They look good
I found them on ebay from China, took a bit more than a month to arrive but I think it was worth the £300 for the set
