It's bittersweet. It's fun to see the kids and hear their little voices, but it does make me miss them being little. I know I'll never have those little kids anymore and even if I had more kids, they would never be Nahla and Jaden or anything like that experience I had raising them.

I got the Sephora after shave deal for my husband after seeing g on your channel. They have a coupon for 20 percent off and I used that too. Hey SRV 😊☕️ the finer you make the grind of your coffee the longer the pour time will be. This is because the smaller the little coffee pieces are, the more water can flow through. If the grind is coarse, the pieces are bigger and less water can flow between them. Just need to find the right grind level to get your perfect 60ml pour. Unfortunately ambient temperature also affects this, as when the temperature is warmer and there is more humidity the beans will actually swell. So the best thing to do is to adjust the grind little by little and test until you get the perfect pour time, and by keeping that grind level you should be golden until the weather changes again. Hope that helps!!!

Sarah - those comments from “baristas” were incorrect. I teach specialty coffee. Your tamp pressure depends on your grind. You should be aiming for an outcome of 25-30ml of espresso (for 1 shot, so your previous 60ml was fine) extracted *this part is important* over a period of 25-30 seconds. That means that if it all comes out super fast, and looks watery with very light and little crema; the shot is under extracted. To fix that, you either need to increase your tamping pressure or make your grind size smaller (or both). Conversely, if the shot takes way too long for the 30ml to come out, you need to reduce your tamping pressure. Beans can also affect whether that’s achievable or not… but that’s a whole other story. If you’d like some resources, let me know! Good luck 🤞

We tried different grind size, different weight of beans ,different time but they just didn’t work for us. Our neighbors on the other hand changed their internal grind size and it turned out to be their favorite espresso bean but they order the beans from the company now so that could be a factor as well.

Beans matter !!! Light roast don’t work for us . We try to use beans fast the older they are the less they work for us anyway ! They pull different. Also when you switch beans it takes time to figure out the best way . Personally I don’t bother but my husband doesn’t add sugar so he needs it to taste good haha !
It could be the coffee beans you’re using. Most of the coffee beans have a glossy look from oil being pulled from the coffee beans like Starbucks brand (roasted for a longer time period) which is actually bad for the machine as eventually the oil starts to clog the machine if you don’t clean it constantly. You might want to look for a dryer bean that doesn’t have a shiny look. Very different quality.
one of my fav podcasts, Crime Weekly, has a coffee company called Criminal Coffee!! They didn’t know what they were doing when they started either but are so successful with it! I would buy SRV coffee any day!!
Also, the perfume sampler was my favourite gift I would get every year for Christmas from our local drug store. I think it used to be 85 dollars and now the price is 130 which is mental, but still, a great gift

You need a tamp mat that cradles your portfilter and protects your counter. Also, weigh your ground coffee beans. Your basket is a 54mm and so grounds for a double shot should be around 19g. If you want to be a little extra, pick up a coffee scale with timer so you know exactly what your pull time is and your output. Mass produced beans will always screw everything up in my experience.
