    They’re suppose to follow up with you. 24h, 48h, 1 week, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year etc. Then also reach out to you to invite you to any events at the dealer. That’s how I was taught to do it when I worked at the stealership

      My dealer hasn't said a peep to me. Haven't heard anything. In fact when I bought my bike, it was rather unceremonious (which I like), but I hear and have seen other dealers do the whole bell ringing crap and pictures. Not mine man, I walked in, sat down.with the finance guy, bought the bike, rode out. Quick and easy. No small talk, no BS.

    I bought 5 new Harleys over the last 15 years. Good salesmanship but when it came solving issues with the bikes it was like pulling teeth again no answers and no return calls. Bikes were bought at two different dealership and the same terrible service after purchase of bike. It's like once you buy the bike your no longer a value to them. Sad so sad. Really like your videos and perspective views. Thank you

      Thanks Henry! I wish I could say that our experience are outliers and not the norm, but I think sadly it's the opposite. I know a lot of people who've sworn off Harley after receiving such terrible service. I still love Harleys motorcycles but I can't say I'll be supporting the dealerships.

    The reason the dealerships never get better with things like that , nobody calls them out . If you put their dealership out there with a bad review on social media and they see it , they might change the way do things …….

    I’ve been to several different Harley dealerships in FL and ND. With one exception, my experience was very negative. In two or three instances I was ignored completely and finally had to ask if there was a salesman available, only to be made to wait for 10-20 minutes. In every dealership save one I was made to feel like I was doing them a favor just walking in the door. Add to that the overpriced cost for a less-than-reliable motorcycle, I’ll probably never be seen on a Harley. I’m surprised the company is still in business.

    I was at our local dealership helping a buddy that want a bike. We asked the out the door price which was given. We left went to another place to check out another. Decided on the one at HD so returned. Verified the OTD price and was told there is a 2k additional charge for Doc fee and prep. Such deceptive sales practice, so much for the Out the door price. Told them to go screw, I would never buy from that Steelership ! No your not venting I am.

    I have been dealing at my local Harley for years.. Ive bought a 2009 Rocker C, 2014 Dyna Wide Glide, 2021 Street Glide and i still have all 3. Back in 2014 I bought a new 2014 Indian Chief vintage back when this local Harley was selling Indian, that bike is long gone.
    anyway, sorry about your experience, mine has been great with the Harley dealership i go to which is handy because i live 20 minutes from the dealership.
    There was 1 time they screwed up and they were supposed to do the stage 2 on my 2021 Street Glide, i wanted them to pick it up before i left to Mexico so it would be done by the time i came back, they forgot.
    That being said, while in mexico i gave them the code to my garage and they came and picked it up and ut it back 2 days later so i would have it by the time i got home. Love my Harley dealership!

    When I bought my 21 Sportster 48 the sales part was good. After I bought the bike that’s when the problems started. First I was issued a license plate for a BMW R18 and I wasn’t made aware of this until six months after buying the motorcycle. Then I discovered the BMW R 18 was put in my name for a brief time. I found all this out when I got a tax bill in the mail for a BMW. Took another 4 months for them to resolve the issue. I had to call the state to figure out what the Dealership had to do because they didn’t know. I couldn’t renew my vehicles because I had a tax due on a BMW that I never owned. Several other issues but that was the main one. Don’t ever go to Harley Davidson of Louisville.

    • @IronBornRider
      @IronBornRider  Рік тому +1

      In the states, we pay the dealer a tag and title fee and they process everything with our dmv. Typically you get the license plate the day you go home with a new bike.

  • @bensatterwhite5694
    @bensatterwhite5694 Рік тому

    The dealerships sell quite a few bikes in a month and they are too busy or lazy(you choose) to file the paperwork to get your bike registered. They sit on a pile of these bike registrations until they pile up and then make about one trip a month to the dmv to get the registration process going. In the mean time they bullshit you, make excuses, or just don’t know what the problem is. This is common at car dealers as well.

    I have bought 4 Harleys and yeah I'm just about done with Harley Dealerships. Each time I had a similar experience like you after I signed the paperwork. The last time I purchased a maintenance package that covered "maintenance items" (I should have read the fine print) for $2500 for I believe 3 years. 4 months later i took the bike in for a maintenance schedule and an air filter was not covered! (This was a used bike I purchased) I also asked if they could change the oil in all 3 holes... I get my bike back and they only changed the motor oil!!!!! 😡 I then asked that my primary and transmission be changed and was given the run around.... Let's say I stayed at the dealership for 7+ hours just for an oil change that was already scheduled! $2500 wasted just for "oil changes"...... I feel the same way as you.....

    Don't they know that they are dealing with a famous HD motovlogger!?? Unacceptable! 😂
    From my experience with many dealerships (cars), HD is no exception; they are all about squeezing the most amount of $$ from the consumer, regardless of how you feel about it AFTER you make the big purchase. Luckily, I haven't had too much of bad customer service at my local dealership but I have been caught getting frustrated with their warranty policies that seems to change every time I talk to them. But my dealership at least has tasty free coffee that I get every time I go...so I just need to make few more thousand trips for the free coffee and I will be even for the cost of my bike.

      Put some respect on my name! I have almost 3k subscribers on UA-cam! lol. Yeah Harleys warranty loopholes is exhausting, and the worst part of it is that it takes weeks or months to get an appointment only for them to tell you that it's not covered under warranty sometimes. I'm doing most of my own work now except the serious stuff.

    Not to say all HD dealerships are like this, HOWEVER there is a local powersports dealership near me that deals with metric bikes such as Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki and others, and they treated me the same way. If I was not purchasing a bike, they acted like I was a bother to them. I tried to purchase a bike from them once, and asked for a test ride of the bike I wanted to purchase. I asked them how much for the bike, and they stated $2400 for it. I said fine, lets do it. They did a credit check on me, and they told me that the carb needed to get rebuilt and other checks before they would allow me to ride it. Then I was told that unfortunately they could not sell it to me because of my credit! Then they basically ignored me. The dealership did not want my bad credit, and the fact that I did not want to put down a deposit made them think that I did not have any money at all. So, I then took my bad credit, and purchased a $3500 bike from a private seller, and I use a local shop that is farther away, and do not deal with those that did not want my money because of my credit.

      It's not the dealer's fault if you have crappy credit. Banks don't loan on toys with no down payment to people who are financially stupid. The dealer was not at fault here, and you made no effort to tell them you COULD pay cash. What did you think they were left to assume, if you said no cash and were only willing to buy on credit. which you didn't have? I wouldn't waste my time with you either, and neither would you.

    I bought a used Harley from an individual, and my local Harley dealership treats me great(even though I bought elsewhere). From parts to mechanics, even sales staff.
    Additionally, I have been treated great at dealerships that I have visited while on the road. I have watched them bust butt to get people back on the road that were from out of town and broke down.
    Most dealerships make a lot off of upgrades, and Harley apparel it would be crazy to treat you poorly after the original sale.

    I feel a Harley dealer should be a destination. The ones in my county don’t even offer you a cup coffee. Out of my area,upstate and out of state do something every weekend during the spring and summer.

      I do enjoy visiting various Harley dealers and I agree. They should make it so that visiting dealers is a big deal

    Same thing happened to me. In PA your temp tag is good for 90 days. I was close to that time and in the mail I received all the dealer paperwork back from the DMV. The dealer messed up the total owed for the tag transfer. Took the paperwork back to the dealer to correct. A few weeks goes by and nothing on my tags. I call and they have no answers. Called the DMV and they never got the paperwork back. In PA PennDot processes all sent back paperwork within one day of receipt. So it didn’t add up. I called the DMV a week later and they sent the dealer a notice to correct. Magically a couple days later they “found the paperwork on someone’s desk.” It was never mailed back. So within a couple days of that I had my full registration. I know mistakes happen but they didn’t seem to care until the DMV got involved. Makes me worry about going back as I was a first time buyer from them.

      I for sure wouldn’t go back there. If they drop the ball on details like that it wouldn’t give me any confidence that they can take care of big matters. Good luck brother!

    Harley has been acting this way from 1999 when they refused to replace the junkie cam bearings in the new Twin cam engine.
    I had two different dealers steal parts from my bike. One dealer worker switched my good mirrors with same type but damaged chrome on mirrors. Another dealer switched my rear wheel with a rusty wheel. This same dealer tried telling me that I needed a new engine , saying my crank bearings were bad. Im still running this bike.
    I never take my bike to a Harley dealer for anything.

    Glad I've never had the desire to own a Harley
