  • In this video I walk through the I-Arpeggio on the Roland JUNO-X Synthesizer. I'll demonstrate how to use different styles (algorithms) when playing with multiple parts, as well as how to perform and play live with the I-Arpeggio. I’ll also use some of the Roland Cloud model expansions like the Jupiter-8 and SH-101 (a video on model expansions and Roland Cloud coming soon… 🙂).
    Hope you enjoy!
Let me know in the comments what you think I should cover in the next JUNO-X video…!

Its great to see tutorials on the Juno X. There are plenty of reviews but not too many learning resources.
Many thanks for taking the time to make this video.

Thank you, are they any topics you’d like me to cover in the next one?

@@boyesm Thanks Mike. My Juno X arrived at my home but I will only get there in another 10 days to get my hands on it. For the videos. I have seen most current videos on UA-cam. I did not see much on the effects and assigning effects. Can they be assigned to each individual part or only on main outputs?

One thing I’d love to see is if there’s any way to assign velocity to parameters for the Juno 60 and 106 models!

Just received my Juno X and I’m pretty blown away by the X engine to the point where it’s not AS critical to me to find a way to map the velocity for the classic models, but it still would be nice! Haven’t found a solution so far myself.

I found a solution in the scene edit menu on the second page. “Velo sens” does the trick. Duh… 🤦 but now I’m trying to see if I can map it to the SL1 control slider. So far no luck there. The only way I could see it working is if there’s some way to do it through CCs. Time to keep digging!

Thanks for the video. Very helpful. Have you found any way to change scene's without stopping the rhythm?

This is helpful. Hopefully this will apply to the Jupiter XM as well.

I want to say THANK YOU too for making this video! Finding a video on how to set up the internal TR drum machines took a lot more UA-cam searching than I had expected. So, can I ask this question: Where did you find the instructions on how to do this? Obviously, the manual that comes with the Juno X does not cover any of this. Did you just figure this out by playing around with it, or can you provide the link to these instructions? (Granted, I have not really searched the Roland website for this info... I should have probably done that first.)

Can you please provide me advise on the following:
How do I setup the arpeggios on a Juno-X, so that they play independent from each other other multiple keyboard splits? I tried to setup keyboard ranges for each parts, but no matter what I do the arp's do not play independent. Play an arp on one split and it affects the arps on other split. It looks like the arps cannot be separated and are triggered by the entire keyboard, despite the key ranges. Thank you in advance

Kann man mit dem Fantom 06 den Rhythmus auf die gleiche Art programmieren?

Thank you. I discovered audio beat sync on Yamaha synths. I'm not sure if other synths have this. Do you know if the arpeggios sync up with external rhythm.

I've decided to stop watching Juno x videos until I can afford one. It's just to painful.

I think that I can do the same thing with my Jupiter-X ? but your screen is in the middle, very well but the screen of the Jupiter is really terrific because far on the left side, a mistake of design.

Both screens could be much larger and better positioned, i could imagine more screens like prophet has

I try to make the arp stay only on the left side to play it only with left hand, but its everywhere...I go to edit part 1 go and i see range to C . But the part 1 has S NOT K. i don't know how to make it K . Maybe that3why it doesn't work. Manual is no good. Also no good tutorials on UA-cam

good video, but it puts me off more than it triggers me. So much menu diving on a tiny screen for...almost nothing. It is not powerful enough and poorly implemented. Arpeggio seems better on my Novation Summit (also poorly placed screen). Not a single synth out there has perfect design, except maybe Sequential

Great tutorial however for a simple arpeggiated sound I had to wait quiet a few minutes. A bit too much "vocal" few "instruments" :)
