Many years ago, too many to count, I played shinty in Aberdeen with the Dornie Postmans son. The village had a PO then. And yes the Dornie Bar was a favourite.

was up there a month ago and was lucky - the weather was good - but some of my best shots were on the way back down when it was cloudy - very dramatic and atmospheric - I stopped at Eilean Donan visitor centre and had my breakfast gazing out the window and across the bridge to the castle it was wonderful - but it was very overcast - you dont really need the sun
Being a MacRae I am so looking forward to making a much needed visit to our Family Castle. I know there are pictures of my relatives up on the walls and I am really looking forward to making my first visit with my daughter as soon as possible.

Beautiful, this castle always brings a tear to my eye. Breathtaking.
My brother and I visited Eilean Donan in August of 2010 and will recall it as one of the highlights of our trip.

Sorry to tell you that this is the MacKenzie's castle. Only owned by one of the McRaes in the 20th century.
