Born, Raised, Live in a small Summer beach resort town, on an island in Southern New England, USA...we don't get rips, waves as bad as Bondi, but grew up, been around Lifeguards my whole life...HUGE respect to you guys...

Jesus loves you!
You are desperately trying to keep your head above water as the tide drags you into its deep abyss. Your lungs are burning, and your hands are pawing frantically and just as you’re about to accept that this is the end, a hand grabs you by the hair and pulls you onto a board “DO YOU KNOW WHAT THE RED AND YELLOW FLAGS ARE?!” Gotta love H!
He grabbed the lad by the hair and yanked him up just to yell that at him then slapped him a little later when trying to get him onto the board 🤣🤣🤣
I felt sorry for Troy and Corey having to rescue that body and hang onto it for an HOUR!It must have been so traumatising for them,i hope they both got counselling and recovered from their ordeal.May the poor man concerned rest in peace,my heart also goes out to his family.I got a cold shiver when they said Harries nearly had an encounter with a great white shark,he was very lucky. Those guys were great who helped the man who'd been biten by a shark.
Jesus loves you!

Love your name ♥️
H is a legend man, he is the lifeguard you want when people dont listen to you
Anyone else just binging every episode of Bondi Rescue 😂
From season 1
I have been watching episodes from all seasons
Yep! Embarrassing that I have lived here 30 years and never swum at Bondi. Got caught in a rip on a beach (unpatrolled) south of Port Macquarie many years ago. I was a good swimmer then and by some miracle, obviously survived. I thought I was going to die. Please don’t take the ocean for granted, swim between the flags!!
YES
Meee 😊
My first unsuccessful recus was 20 yrs ago. I still see her face. Vividly. It’s no longer scary, just kinda like a friend visiting.
We're sorry you had to go through that. We can imagine that experience left a lasting impact. It's interesting how our memories evolve over time. Sometimes, they become a part of who we are.
How traumatizing to Troy and Cory to have to take a dead body out of the water and then having to hug it to you for over twenty minutes while a shark is circling you. I am so proud of both of them to be able to do this, not panic, to act so professionally, respectfully towards the body of someones love one, you both were amazing. Even thou you handled this situation so well, we need to acknowledge that this definitely will effect you emotionally, without counselling. I cannot say enough good things about how well they handled this situation like seasoned professionals, these young men should be commended, as likely no one would have to handle a situation like this possibly throughout their whole career as a lifeguard. Wow
Did anyone ever figure out what happened?
Beautifully said.. Agree, nothing can change the outcome, but am pleased that they are all there for each other as support
@@parkerflorence5332ummmm he died buddy
@@mials.that’s not what they were asking💀 they’re asking how they died, read buddy
@@parkerflorence5332 It's assumed he commited suicide.
Mad respect to the lifeguards during the summer heat waves they are literally cooking alive to keep us from drowning literally watch this kid pale as heck in the beginning of the episode and it's barely halfway through and he is red as a lobster his face is just sunburned beyond belief😮
Rigor morris (his arm was up in the air) last 24-48 hours, and the smell starts immediately. He was practically hugging that guy, that’s is rough. Troy was 21 when this happened, he is now 37! Wow! Old man now!
Rigor Morris??! Do you mean rigamortis ? 🤔
@@Pluviophile73 lol yes, the automatic spellcheck changed it. 😂
@Pluviophile73 it's actually rigor mortis
This was in 2009! I would love a where are they now episode....seeing where all the lifeguards are now in their lives. That would be soooooo cool.
I’m pretty sure the show is still going or it might have just ended recently 😊
The chap at 21:14 sadly died from cancer.
How do you make that big of a mistake
I just yesterday watched the Mark Bouris podcast here on YT, he interviewed Reidy 3 months ago to which I enjoyed. Mark also interviewed another Bondi Rescue Gent yet I cannot recall his name, my apologies yet check out Mark’s YT. 👍
Yes, yes, YES!!! I totally agree, a "where are they now" special would be SOOOO cool!!!
The boys were so young here
How old are they now?
Yes I spent quite a few nights out with the boys when I lived in Bondi, they were all great value and my friends and I spent many of our very few days off on the beach and were call on to assist in the odd emergency when they were flat out (them knowing we were Drs) great times.
@@TayTay_4Lifer there 11 more days old
@@TayTay_4LiferI don't know about their ages, but this season aired around 2009. So it's around 14 yrs ago. :)
@@TayTay_4Liferhe was 21, born in 1987, so he would be 36 now. This was filmed 14/15 years ago.
The first part was so devastating. I cried for everyone in tht situation. The man, the family, and ofc at tht moment them young men who recovered him. I couldnt even look most of the time. A tragic and sad reality. Only God knows what really happened in his last hours.
I agree.Who is your favourite lifegaurds? Mine are Harries and Harrison?
50:19 IM SORRY I LAUGHED WHEN HE GRABBED HIM BY HIS HAIR
Props to the camera crew who are *also* in the water with the lifeguards
Bondi is my comfort show
Mine too. When I need to relax or slow down, I end up here 😅
Same . I’m binge watching while ill in bed
How in the world has this not been released in the US??? These lifeguards and show are bonzer! Top notch!
The Bondi lifesaving teams, have their job cut out for them. Each member is a complete professional. Thanks everyone !!!
I’m American and have never been to Australia. This makes me want to visit so badly! I’ve always wanted to go for the wildlife but now I want to come watch people get rescued haha
Am rooting for maxi..he’s my favourite since year 1 of his training 😂❤
Legend says to this day Max is still trying to make up to Kerbox for dinging his board 😂
"she's just crazy. she's estonian" as an estonian, can confirm xD
I can relate to the feeling when you find a dead body bcuz I have been there.I worked at a hotel.Someone had called down & said they didn't want their room servied until they checked out.The hotel had a rule that stayovers had to have their room cleaned after 3 days & well the time came & that's when I her body.I couldn't get the image out of my head for a very long time.I will never forget it, but have moved on.
I have a very High respect for lifeguards bcuz of being in a wave pool & trying to get out, but kept getting knocked back in the deeper water & felt someone grab my hand & pull me out of the water.I looked up to see the lifeguard & was so relieved.😊
I'm so sorry you experienced that situation. It must have been so shocking . I'm glad you are at peace with it now. I find this show uplifting, even when tragedy happens they are so respectful.
We hope you're all enjoying these amazing back-to-back full episodes of season 4! If you haven't seen part 1 which includes episodes 1-6, then check it out here 👉 ua-cam.com/video/nhnvM6LBr04/v-deo.html

I thought a shark smelling blood was a myth is it not?
HELLO from Ontario Canada 🇨🇦
I just wanted to say that
Australia and Hawaii are on my bucket list of places I want to visit before I leave this world, I’m originally from Lansing Michigan BUT I have lived most of my life in Ontario Canada and as most people know, Winters are absolutely brutal here.
I have always loved the Australian accent and their down to earth attitude.
I just recently started watching BondiRescue and I can’t stop watching, IF I get the opportunity, I DEFINITELY want to spend it at Bondi Beach ESPECIALLY during Christmas holidays.
The life guards are ALL HEROES ❤
As a person that has been saved my the lifeguards I can say I truly appreciate the effort that the boys in blue put into every single rescue
H is hilarious 😂, after rescuing that guy by pulling him outta the water by his hair just immediately yelling “DO YOU KNOW WHAT THE RED AND YELLOW FLAGS ARE?!” I lost it at that point 🤣 I officially died of laughter at 50:40-50:44 when H smacks the guy to get him to focus 😭😭🤣🤣
I can't believe how many people jump right in who can't swim!!
Jesus loves you!
He's much more handsome than Kevin Bacon !
I am so addicted to these that it is unhealthy.
I grew up in costal Florida and have been caught in more then a few rip currents, none particularly that strong but the best advice I can give is do not freak out, stay relaxed and either tread water until you can get help, or swim parallel to the beach, they rarely excede being 100 feet wide( a swim most people can reasonably make although they’ll be tired) you’ll feel the current let up then just go with and let the waves help take you in once you feel the current subside, it’s not the easiest thing to do but a decent swimmer should be able to do so, i wish more people knew how to get out of them, it would save so many lives
I grew up in Hawaii. Rip currents are part of life out here. Sounds nuts after watching all of these inexperienced swimmers get caught in Bondi’s rip currents, but our parents would take us out to the beach and make us practice swimming parallel to the shore in a rip until you make your way out, or swimming diagonally through the rip. It really helps because you get so used to it that you don’t panic, and more importantly, you can look after yourself in the ocean from a relatively young age. Also, how NOT to tense up when you’re being rolled by a wave or get hit with one. You go as limp as possible in order to prevent injury.
In Australia, we are taught to swim parallel to the beach, or float until the current stops, put your feet down, and feel for the bottom. There will always be sandbars on either side of the end of the rip. Staying calm is the most important thing you can do, and also the most difficult.
But so many people at Bondi are tourists not familiar with ocean swimming at all. Never taught about coping with rips
It's so interesting how living different places makes some things so regular for some, and wierd for others. Where i live in the US, average water temps in JULY is about 15c. Winter is about 10 to 15 lower. Wet suits are pretty necessary here.
I think they said 15c OUT of the water…which I think is 59f? So yeah, not really the best temperature for going swimming though I can see going for it in the spring when you’re tired of cold weather. The ocean’s going to be pretty cold though if it’s not even 60 outside and you’re just coming off winter weather.
@@bookcat123So I watched it again, at 26:27 they begin to give an explanation on how "there's a heat wave on land, and now a cold snap in the water."
Where i live in australia in summer the water can be around 18-20c (65f) and below 15 for all of winter
Lol if I looked up from almost drowning, I would think I had died and gone to Heaven of one of these Angels were there!!!😂😂😂😂😂😇😂😂😂 💖
Rip Terry 😢🙏❤
Great to see most of episodes again, my hat’s off to all the Bondi lifeguards!
Gil from California
I felt sorry for Maxi damaging Kerrbox's surfboard. I am glad Harries won the race.
Amazing programme! Amazing lifeguards! I was swimming in the sea in Bournemouth Uk when I was 10 with my mum and out of nowhere we couldn’t touch the sea surface, being pulled out further and further and my mum screaming swim swim swim! Was incredibly scary, unless you’ve experienced it, you can never understand the terror. Hats off to these total heroes who leave legacies such as this! 👏 👏 ❤
Soooo... mom's a nurse but her 10 year old isn't wearing safety gear for skateboarding?!
And the fact he had a WHOLE SKULL FRACTURE?!
Yes as a child you can wear a helmet when you leave and remove it once away from your parents. Kids do it all the time
@@MMz_5150I was injured in dance when I was 15 and told not to dance. I would wear dance shorts under my regular shorts and at least walk thru my dances until my mom pulled back into the parking lot😂
I was thinking the same thing!!
after watching all of the episodes i can I have learned whats interesting is different cultures respond to near death very very very different. Americans ( of which I am one) can either be very very thankful and respectful or obnoxious. We have no middle ground. Which is unfortunate. Asians are very thankful , but, i think their natural response is to laugh out of fear and panic. There have been a lot of Indians who seem just in a panic in the water, but when on land are sooo respectful and thankful. Germans are thankful... I can't think of any other common ones that i have seen
What about us Brits, how would you sum us up?
@@BrianKitching-wv5nh uh. Well i honestly havnt seen enough of you on the show. From what ive seen. Your calm and polite. But for the connection between the two countries you apparently dont like swimming there much. Lol.

H is my favorite. Such a great lifeguard and no nonsense.
What's your favourite H moment?
Lived right near the beach in SA for years. The locals all stayed home on the awfully hot days.
Maybe have boards with a drawing of a person laying on their stomach in the right position. Also (no English) tap your head and point to the front of the board.
Old Man is a blinkin’ legend! Age = experience = wisdom.
Mandatory service announcement on planes, domestic and international in Australia, along with knowing how to fasten the seatbelt, should be swimming between the flags
I’m surprised the police made them wait with a big shark hovering around. That doesn’t seem quite right.
Sharks prey on whatever's splashing since that's what their prey does. Splashing around will lure it in
Send me a green whistle please and ALL the life guards LOL
Pretty funny to see them say the 60° Fahrenheit water is like ice lol that’s another day at the beach where I live and no one complains. Just goes to show you how amazing that water must usually be!
Yep! I grew up swimming in Massachusetts and Maine (USA) and 60° sounds wonderful! I think my limit is when it gets below 50° -LOL!
And as a Brit over here 2 things … yup our water is blooming freezing even in the summers and I hear 60 degrees and break out in a sweat due to our country using Celsius … you would boil alive at 60 degrees Celsius 😅
Harry Nightengale reminds me of my last few month of work at my job in Nome Alaska. Gotta just say it like it is. Especially when the lifeguards are risking their lives. I hope they have a good retirement package.
The sharks being dragged ashore part was saddening.
Basic lessons are a great idea. Like scuba diving. All those beginner surfers are accidents waiting to happen.
I just can’t stop laughing at maxi’s look this year lol, so weird seeing this knowing I was only 1
How can people bake in the sun at 47°C? In the water I can understand but taking a sunbath???
I agree 47 degrees is way too hot to lie on a beach. 28 will do nicely.
Thanks so much mate um an aussie bloke and want to be a lifeguard when I grow up
All the best with that journey!
I hope you can make it,how old are you now if you don't mind me asking.
I'm still 13
Interesting, didn't realize there could be a heatwave on land and still freeze like that in the water
Cabin OnThe Hill and Al Blaz are my all time favorites! I watch from Canada and your shows are very relaxing for me.❤
It amazes me that people refuse to wear helmets because they worry about feeling embarrassed. I can't speak from personal experience on this, but I do assume that needing someone to change your diapers and wipe spittle off your chin for the rest of your life may be a tad more embarrassing.
Well said.
I agree 👍
Rest in peace so sorry for the family
1:50 where I live 15 degers is calld summer. It is not that cold here peopel are whering shorts and t-shirts when it is 15 degres. Love the show.💚💚

Yeah I’m from the UK and 15 degrees is a pretty normal T-Shirt day
19-15 C is my favourite swimming temp as I can’t do hot water.
So the water would be perfect but out of water would be extremely 🥵 hot as 25-30 is my top.
So not in water is beyond my limit.
So many people dont understand how dangerous it is and then laugh about it....:/ I'm sure that's so frustrating it is for the lifeguards, just trying to keep people safe and people keep not taking it seriously.
Can't imagine swiming in the ocean when it's windy and only 15C...
Not a chance 😂😂😂
Neither can I,swimming in those temps is crazy
15°c isn't even cold! Sure the water is probably a bit chilly but on land ... that's still nice and warm.
@@carolroots4882 Are you kidding? I went to the sea to bathe in the water there with some friends & family. It was freezing. Couldn't even feel my feet even after immediately getting out
They must be very brave people I would be so scared if a shark was next to me
I absolutely love the beach and water, but can't do cold, we went to bondi in Aug and not only was it cold on the beach but the water was freezing. I think I went in to my ankles and said nope, but my kids n grandkids loved it, my son still has the body board we bought at one of the shops there on the beach front. Absolutely love Australia can't wait to go back
Surely being buried in sand up to the neck is but another way to die on a hot beach. That guy can’t dig his way out.
I love your videos so much!! I have an immense love for the ocean and maybe in another life I can be a lifeguard, I'm way too small and weak to do what you do!! Lifesavers of the ocean!!

Google translate would definitely benefit these lifeguards.
theyve actually tried using quite a few systems since this season its progressed definitely since then but its still difficult because of how many people come there all speaking different languages
28:12 16 degres in the water is warm wher I live. Frezzing is when it is thick is and you ned to make a hole in the is and you end up bathing in slush like water.
The lifegaurds were so young here.
It is unbelievable that no contact with the lifeguards was made about that shark 🤬

15c I laughed at you guys thinking that's cold. That's a lovely summer's day in Scotland :-)
Thought the same thing lol
As a Brit I’d normally agree but it’s the contrast that makes it brutal. I remember walking out of the sun in Texas and into the air conditioning and thinking I was gonna die from hypothermia
Ya'll are all like siblings

It took an hour for the water police to arrive? That's insane.
Skateboarders, motorcyclists, etc PSA: WEAR A HELMET.
Thank u for saving people
Always watching these video's. But im curious, does the camera man in the water just swimming there or is he also on the board together with the saving guards? And just jumps off when the guards are rescue the people
They have a few in the water with floating cameras and some have boards. There was a rescue I saw recently of a big indian man struggling and the camera man was the closest but he had nothing to help (and attending a rescue with no equipment when someone is panicking often results in the victim inadvertently drowning someone trying to help). The cameras look like white boxes that they hold on top of the water and you see them in a few shots.
@@leahw2124Thanks for the description.
I've seen a few times where the cameraman actually helps keep the victim afloat until the lifeguard can get to them so they obviously travel separately. This is the only one of this type of show I've seen where the camera crew help out.
Love the intro!
I rarely have anything negative to say about Bondi but this was a complete ShitShow of behalf of the police on this retrieval. An HOUR! ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. Even dismissing the possible evidence contamination you would think the police would recognize the danger of have a dead body with all that comes with, attracting predators, scavengers, and looky lous
