Omgosh you forgot Oofos!! Absolutely amazing for heal spurs and planters fasciitis ! I have 4 different styles . But I think honestly what ever works for each individual and what ever shoe you wear if it takes away the pain, wear it . 😊
I found Birkenstock to be heavy and the insoles felt hard. These two features made it difficult for me to wear this brand. Also, my width is slim or double A and Berky weren't slim enough. But, a good long wearing shoe.
Chacos are also a good brand. I've been wearing chacos for years and they are also on the APMA recommended list. I can walk around in mine all day without ending up in extreme pain.
I had plantar fasciitis for a few years now im almost completely recover, i use some normal Hiking Decatlon sandals, they have enough arch support and i can wear them a descent distance for sure! You can try one also maybe will work for you too.
For some reason Olukai sandals kill my feet. I have plantar fasciitis on my left foot, but I find Olukai make both of my feet hurt. I’ve tried different kinds and their Ohana ones were recommended for my issue, but they aren’t cushioned enough and they’re too heavy. Only sandals I can wear are my double layer Rainbow flip flops and Oofos sandals.
I seem to only have issues with plantar fasciitis during the summer months when I'm exclusively wearing my Birkenstocks. Right now my feet are burning up in my sneakers, but it's the only relief I have. UGH. I love my Birks, but wow they are really hurting me!
I have an old pair and they were made thicker and more supportive, still have them after 15 years.. The new ones as of 2020 & now are horrible. They fall apart easily and wear out very fast. They are not a cork footbed. You can trip and fall in them easily. For getting wet feet, I use the Chaco Classic sandals with a strap. They are supportive, wash easily, and dry fast. They just don’t carry many as far as variety in the wide size. I have one pair that has lasted 5 years & I live in Florida, so I wear them regularly. Plus I am overweight and they withstood that for 5 years. I, watching this video because I need a new pair of Chacos now & was looking for reviews.
thanks for the starting list. I live in the country, so there are few options... ups for most products like this. How many of these have shanks? I have multiple foot issues. I need a shank.. and preferably wide one for lateral support as well as heel to ball/toe. in person I can tell if they will work for me by bending and twisting the shoe. most fail.
Great list. Would a list be similar in regards to achilles tendonitis? Would a pair of sandals be better for either foot condition if it had a backstrap around the heel?
He did in the video with all those brands. Birkenstock, Chaco, etc. Birkenstock makes a good sporty shoe insert to add to a lace-up wide width shoe also.
I have a calcaneal spur that's causing pretty severe plantar fasciitis. I love my rainbow sandals. But I guess they're terrible for plantar fasciitis. Do the Olukai sandals provide a lot of heel cushion?
Thanks a lot!! I've been using the Birkenstok for more than 6 years - everyday- to avoid the pain. Now I can have some more options! 🙆♂
Mephistos are what my Dr. recommended. I have been wearing the Harmony style for years and they work great.

Finally a video I can give my patients as a reference video to watch 🙌 thanks

I absolutely swear by my Chacos and my Keens for when I’m on the beach or hiking outdoors. But I also love my Birkenstock’s for around town.
Thanks. Just the review I was looking for since I have plantar Fasciitis. The Newport H2 is perfect for me.
This is what I needed!

I had the same experience. Wore birkenstocks for years. Pain started. Switched to tevas. Alot more versatile last longer. No more pain.
I've never come across a sandal that offers a much arch support as my Vionics.

Do you recommend Teva sandals? Thank you!
Do you think the Birkenstocks that are made out of rubber and are water friendly are still good? or the material change takes away from that support?
Support doesnt change with materials.
