Thanks for watching! - Наука та технологія
I feel like we need to get a documentary series about the toy sculptures. They don’t get enough credit. I mean what they are doing is art. Example: it would be really cool to see who sculpted/worked on The Real Ghostbusters toy line. I really enjoy small details it just gives you something else to learn about a brand/fandom that you love.
the tool for scaling down/up the prototype models is called a pantograph . it is also used by masons to mark out writing and is comon in other trades as well. you can find 3d printable versions on thingiverse f you want to try it out.
I think one of the first applications of it was in The mechanical Turk faux automaton from the 1700's interesting reading!
@@NectarineSoup the pantograph was possibly used in ancient rome, I think it dates back at least to 200AD
I could watch this all day long
Action Figures Authority (AFA) grandes depends not only of the conditions of the figure, it also depends of the cardboard and plastic bubble, for that reason it’s very difficult to have a perfect grade 10 level (there’s only few lucky figures with that grade known on the world), to have that there must be a perfect figure whit out paint issues and well printed and not bend cardboard, a clear not scratched bubble glued perfectly on site. Practically must be a new factory production, a couple figures on the whole wave have reunited those elements, and when they’re sent to the stores probabilities of find one of them get down
Interesting! Would love to know what the grade 10 figures are that exist.
11:14 in is best in sentence 'BURP' ever! like Rick and Morty levels. hahaha
So many amazing pieces, wish I could have participated in this auction. As happy as seeing this makes me, it also makes me insane!!!
Can't believe they didn't talk about that huge Falcon!!! aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
jimmythx1 it’s a store show piece, so basically it sat in a toy shop
They had one brought in on Comic Book Men
Yes me too...when i was a kid this Falcon was in a Comicbook store in Germany Berlin on the ceiling I would be interested in what he is worth
"There's some slightly oddball pieces, like that, that you find in the world of prototypes."
He seems to have no idea that the Star Trek range of Turtles was actually a product that was brought to market.
Yeah I distinctly remember that line. Leo was Kirk, Donny was Spock, Raph was Bones, and Mikey was Scotty. That said, the version they have there with the wrap tunic is indeed only a prototype as the released one used the standard uniform.
GreyHulk2 yes and no! Those figures shown were different form the actual production figures. If you look they are similar but not the same . So these figures for some reason were changed. So the production figures will have test shots and first shots of those.
love your videos
Watched the auction live, it was pretty cool.
As much as I love this kinda thing it can be depressing seeing something you owned as a kid knowing how much it is worth now
To be fair no one going to buy your one armed He-Man toy with suspicious stain on it.
GigawingsVideo to be fair no one asked what weird shit you did with your he-man toy 🤔
I had the Fire Station and Batmobile. Fun video!
I always find this stuff interesting, even if I am too cheap to spend my money on it!
Awesome
This auction has some amazing stuff!! I'd love to own that auction guide, but after checking their website, looks like it would $50+ just to ship it here to Japan, plus the cost of the book itself.... darn!!
That ghostbusters fire station !!! Does the ooze comes intact ???
I always love the Prop Store videos. Great work.
You should have shown the M41A Pulse Rifle toy in more detail.
I'm really curious as to how much that Rambo boxart painting goes for. I have 2 of them myself. (Whip-Action Warhawk and Black Ninja)
It sold for respectable 7380 $. usm.propstoreauction.com/m/lot-details/index/catalog/160/lot/35084/?url=%2Fm%2Fview-auctions%2Fcatalog%2Fid%2F160%2F%3Fpage%3D6%26items%3D96
@@stefanwunder2545 Yep, I saw. I wonder what the premium of having Rambo depicted bumps up the value. I'd guess the two that I have may go for around a couple of grand together at the very least. *shrug* Not about to sell them, but good info to know. :)
Here for the "Jurassic Park" toy in your thumbnail!

@@KaBar762 There it is! I have the series 1 line complete and reviewed on the channel. Gorgeous little Kenner toy!
Cool!
Magic!
Wow I didn’t even know there were lord of the rings figures for the animated stuff! I’m going to have to try to get my mits on some
Rens M78 good luck! They are pretty hard to come by and cost a fortune
The white gloves making that cameo!
Whatever you do, don't let Mike Stoklasa anywhere near the building, let alone in it!
That is a big ass millennium falcon..I wanted to know more about that piece
Talking about Indiana Jones box, shows close up of evil Knievel toy great editing
If you are interested in this stuff netflix has a show "The toys that made us" that has some history on some of the big name toys.
Didn’t know nothing about this subject just to realize I might have some of these Lolll
2.25 any recommendations for documentaries?
the toys that made us, and power of greyskull, both on Netflix!
The Toys That Made Us is a fantastic series.
Brandon Alinger is adorable.
I thought this was a Red Letter Media video! I was like no way are they destroying Star Trek toys. Lol
After they and the camera crew left the toys going to say "Well, that's pretty interesting fact about us!"
"Oh shut up Gandalf"
Press F for acetone.
you should change the channel name to Adam's toybox - all toys, cosplay, starwars, models, and ephemera... very occasionally an actual product test. I miss the old days..
How’s walrus doing?
First time I've seen Norm keep his grubby hands off the subject in question.
Norms the kinda guy who waves his lighter around at a wax museum.
Because the moment he ruin one of them it will come out from his paycheck.
hello
The Price of Vintage toys is insane. Where is the Acetone Manchild?
To this day I still want a Jurassic Park Ford Explorer action figure
Damn, shakiest B roll close up footage I’ve seen
Some of the prices on production stuff on that site is laughable.
How is an unopened original toy not a 100? Would a collector want something thats "better" than the original?
Unopened doesn't mean that the ravages of time and space haven't worn down the box and/or the figures inside. Preservation and conservation are really, really hard to do even by professionals and in some cases depending on the environment or materials it's nearly impossible.
Sun bleaching, moisture damage, friction, plasticizer vaporization, etc.
EDIT: Also production line inconsistencies. Some "new" objects are better representations of the intended result than others.
ZeikJT - for arguments sake - lets say someone wanted to aprize a new toy... what then? If only to get the 100-rating, the first toy to get a 100 would be a collectible in itself... :)
@@stefanfrisk9598 People do buy new toys in the hopes that they can preserve and later sell them. Their risk is in figuring out what will have desirability and high resale value.
That being said, I've never appraised anything so I don't know what the appraisal companies would accept and/or decline :)
I wondered how do they even verify what's inside if it's not been opened? It could have parts missing or damaged and just because it's taped up with old tape doesn't mean much in regards to the contents.
Honestly that's why I find toy grading and comic book grading to be kind of a sham. There is never any item that they would give a 100 to making that grade meaningless. Even if you took the item straight from the manufacturer with no signs of wear it would still not get a 100 grade. I know why they don't do it. If they gave a 100 grade people would be there to pick it apart but if no item can ever get 100 then why bother having the grades go up to that?
mola ram sudha ram...….
please use an image stabilized lens or a tripod for b roll. this amount of hand held shake is so easily avoidable.
Don't give Mike ideas
20K For a wax figure? Absurd!
Only have princess leia. Lost the rest
It's COLLECTABLES !
Please learn to spell.
Collectable is the more common British spelling, but collectible is an acceptable variant of the same word. Having looked it up online, there doesn't seem to be much difference between the definitions of either word.
@@TheKnightsShield Collectables is the correct spelling of the word if you are writing in English.
I dare say collectibles is acceptable if you don't know the correct spelling but then you could apply the same logic to all miss spellings.
@@IanMullins2 Doing a search online reveals some interesting things, such as:
en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/collectable
And:
englishtips4u.com/2013/03/12/engvocab-collectible-vs-collectable/
I'm British English, so, naturally I'd use collectable, but that's not to say that collectibles is wrong in any way, shape or form, it just means a slightly different thing.
Basically, collectable means something that can be collected, such as tickets for a flight or train and collectibles is used for the same as in this video, something that is old and/or sought after.
