Time is my favorite ELO album. Great synth work.
same for me....best album ever!!
Great reaction! Very honest and real! Well done! Btw, ELO is an unbelievable group. They’re a band full of extremely talented musicians and Jeff Lynne was a genius in his writing and production. And he had a hell of a singing voice.
Well done!
I love their song LIVING THING and CAN'T GET IT OUT OF HEAD
It called different era’s of music. This living legend has had albums in every decade since the late 60’s and this falls in the 80’s
It wasn’t a hit but the Time album is fantastic
It WAS indeed a hit and a huge one at that! You don't know what you are talking about...
John Lennon called ELO the "sons of the Beatles". And really, ELO continued where the Beatles stopped.
Hi!!! Wow this is just a hidden melancholic jewel from the ELO. They had their romantic and melancholic side, but always end up lifting the spirits somehow. Very nice and natural reaction.
Thank you! 🙂
Regards from Chile.
ELO have had dozens of hits and their album tracks are even better. You've still got loads to get through. Give Shangri la a try, the outro is amazing.
#1 outro ever.
This is off "Time". The theme of the album was pretty much like this song. Spacey, waftey, trippy kind of music except 1 song which is "Hold on Tight" which in the 80's was used for a commercial then became a house hold.
I love nothing more than to put on some headphones sit back and just listen to it as a whole much like Dark Side of the Moon . ELO has always been one of my favorite bands .
People named "Cosmo" tend to love ELO.
TWO Cosmos? Or is it Cosmoes? Now had it been "John", I'd say you were lectroids.
@@lhpl Not sure....never imagined there'd be two of us. lol
Lol
This beautiful song is from the 80's album Time, which is about a guy who traveled in time from 1980 to 2095. The whole album is about his experiences and how much he misses his old life and the girl he left behind. It's totally epic!
From an album set in 2095. I love this so much.
Oh hi, Dawn, fancy seeing you here. LOL Hey, I sponsored, *"Yours Truly, 2095",* over at HarriBest Reactions, have you seen it?! I edited together a very cool video for it that I'm sure you'll love! You'll have to do a search for the title in his video archives, as it was a year or so ago.
@@Cosmo-Kramer I saw it the other day. You did a great job.
@@DawnSuttonfabfour Oh cool, thanks! Have you seen the movie I used the clips from?
@@Cosmo-Kramer I may have. Can't recall TBH. What was it? Saw Harri get emotional, bless him.
@@DawnSuttonfabfour Did Harri get emotional in that reaction? Oh, and the movie is called, Ex Machina. It's great, you should rent it!
Been a few years, or decades since I heard this, thanks its a great song and album
Jeff, Richard, Kelly and Bev on the peak of their body of work, for me it is absolutely I can't understand why everyone is so crazy about the early seventies songs, probably because everyone is making reactions about them, 🙄 they are not bad either, many great pearls on Out of the Blue or Discovery but the Longplayer Time is the best album he ever produced 🔥 a stunning masterpiece and it was also commercially the most successful, in Germany alone Time was in the Top Ten for 6 months !! 3 singles and with Hold on Tight his first and unfortunately only #1 in Good Old Germany. 💪
By far my fav album
Now you have listened to this you should listen to From the end of the world
Time is a concept album which was released in 1981 quite an advanced sounding album for that time
I never heard this sound from ELO. It’s different but nice. Great reaction Jayy 🌺✌️
Oh hey, I know you! lol Debbie, I was surprised to read your comment as I just assumed you'd seen me sponsor this song over at Harri's. But it was September of 2021, so maybe you weren't around that far back. At any rate, check out his reaction. Although, he didn't understand the song. That's not really a criticism of him, as it is part of concept album, and not easy to pick up the meaning since the song's lyrics reflect the overall concept, which he was clueless about. And I actually was not happy with him, lol, because he put my "Intro" at the back of the video, making an "Outro". I voiced my displeasure privately, and thankfully he never tried that again. :D
@@Cosmo-Kramer
Hey Cosmo. It’s fun to bump into you in other places! I visit the Jayy show often because she has a great appreciation for Linda Ronstadt and the Beatles. Regarding this ELO video, I probably watched it on Harribest and didn’t remember it. I’m having some health problems that are affecting my memory, so I have to just get used to being embarrassed from time to time. G’day 🌺✌️
@@debbiechang5781 You may not have seen it. Before writing to you I checked to see if you had commented on my video, and you hadn't. Well, given that you usually do, it may be that you never watched that one. No worries, either way. Again, sorry you're dealing with some healthy issues, sending healing vibes from California. By the way, I did write back to you a month ago to tell you that you were correct in identifying the VW Bug at the end of my Cream "Badge" video, as the photo that made me think of you when I made the montage. It's funny, too, I think the guy driving looks like a young Matthew McConaughey. And the guy riding shotgun looks like a young Anson Williams. lol
Wery nice
Same.....don't recall this one 🤔
Never heard of elo interesting song
HI Delores. Did I understand your comment correctly? Did you say you've never heard of ELO? Well, I can tell you that they were one of the biggest rock bands of the '70s. May I ask your age? You don't have to give me your exact age if you don't want, but just a general idea, like are you in your 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, etc.? And also, I'm curious what country you're from?
If you find the song interesting, you have a long and very exciting musical voyage to go on. The Space ship/Time machine is in the corner, but you maybe can't see it, it's disguised as a Wurlitzer jukebox. Better hurry, so we can wish bon voyage, instead of singing "quand tu vois ton bateau partir..."
You need to know the back story of the album
try their song Fire on High
One could make the point that having very deep dark, almost depressingly sad songs has been a part of Jeff's songwriting from the very beginning. His first album, with the Idle Race, has a cover of _Happy Birthday To You_ that would not sound out of place at a funeral! As well as a song about a girl who possibly commits suicide because nobody showed up at her birthday party. This is seriously gloomy stuff! And there has been one or two on just about every album since.
Time is one of the special albums, as it is "progressive synth pop/rock", it tells a strange but almost cohesive story. As such it is necessary to listen to it, several times from beginning to end.
Your face along the way looked as if this song stirred you more than you said with words. Understandable. Also one of the reasons I like watching reaction videos.
