@@DutchDriverr when you are in the middle of a game and you take the wheel off (with the quick release) the force feedback quits working and you have to retart the game so we only take it off when we’re done playing. Not a big deal really. Some issues mapping buttons too but logitech also has that issue. Minor complaints. I haven’t had it very long but as of right now I think it is definitely better than the logi.
The Logitech bundle doesn't include the shifter tho, so add another $60 for that. At this price point not saving up a little more for a DD wheel is foolish.
@@m4rcin847direct drive has more force. You can feel alot more than the gears the other one has. The gear system logitech uses is by no doubt heavily outdated but still a decent working idea. Direct drive is a more modern sophisticated technology.

Ive tested it, didnt feel that much difference between Moza and Thrustmaster T300 in terms of FF. I wouldnt bother with this if I was new. R5 or CSL DD is the minimum. Cheaper stuff from Logi and Thrust is just better bang for buck for new guys IMO.

Get the one that suits your budget. They both seem like great wheels and with experience of the g923 I can say you'll love it. Pick one up hardly ever used like I did, boxed with the tape still on the centre for £120. 🙂
Spot on reviews. I've had a G923 for years and even put an Acelith mod on it, but just upgraded to an R3 and the difference is significant. The R3 now works on F1 24 and it's a blast to use. Highly recommend it.
I got my G923 on sale for 279$ BINB. Also I like the ability to add a shifter down the line. Resale value might be better on the 923 PS4/PS5 version IMO due to the more plug and play nature. I am not super into sim but as a tool to practice tracks where I will be having track days IRL.
My buddies r3 feels loose like a Milwaukee impact. You can feel both sides hit a metal piece inside when you move in the opposite direction. Like the steering drive isn’t directly connected and its banging into some weight.

i got the logitech g29 for around 160 usd brandnew of a person on marketplace "wich is a steal price for me as a new sim gamer'' ive seen this moza r3 and planning to upgrade but not sure if its worth it
Same here, got my g923 off of fb marketplace for $250 cad (180 usd) it came with some mods, inverted pedals and a full on racing seat. In my opinion I’ll probably save up and wait till I see a good deal, or until the hype all dies down. Unless you have extra cash lying around I wouldn’t push myself to upgrade

The only downside of buying used is that sometimes some buttons don’t work “in my case the first time i bought used the L3 and R3 buttons dont work very well” i had to return the wheel and got my money back. luckily the second time i bought used it was brandnew open box so it’s basically new but a little bit on the expensive side with the price of 160 usd without the racing seats. Had to buy the playseat racing seat totaling the cost of 299 usd with the steering wheel and everything. but i would say it’s still cheaper than a DD steering wheel. It would be nice to have a direct drive but i wouldn’t consider it as i only play occasionally and the g29 would suffice.
Best Wheel 👍🏻 I’ve ordered a Moza R3 bundle as my first ever sim wheel. Everything I’ve watched over the past couple of days tells me it’s the one to go for, especially as in the UK I am able to get it on 3 interest free payments with Klarna. For sim racing on a (relative) budget it seems like a fair bit of upgrading is possible by going with Moza and starting off with a DD is just going to give a better experience

I just bought the Moza R3 bundle for Xbox, I set it up and I don't know if I have done something wrong, because when I am flat out on a long straight my steering is violently shuddering any ideas?
i wouldnt worry about that bro. are you playing acc? ive got g923 (its really good if you set it up properly… i really like it) and play acc and yeah… if ya let go going flat out like you said, it shakes around. but if you hold on its all good. i just assume that i would never let the wheel go in real life at 250km, that would end in disaster, so while in-game, i just make it that you can’t let go while going so fast. in the end it adds to the immersion well enough. hope this helps :)

Hello, I’m a Xbox user and I mostly play snow runner and forza. I’m very interested in the moza R3 but on there website it says there shifter isn’t compatible with either game. Does anyone know an alternative that would work? Also I was looking at upgrading the pedals to the fanatec CSL Elite v2 but wasn’t sure if they would be compatible with the moza base on Xbox.

Given the torque output of the R3 (ca. 3.9Nm) isn’t the Thrustmaster T-X a better comparison? They are more closely comparable in terms of FFB output and both allow for changing rims natively.
Absolutely a better comparison. I used to have a tx and have driven the R3 and even tho technically they have the same ffb power, the r3 feels a lot better, stronger and faster return to centre (obviously as its direct drive) , i also found you can run the r3 closer to full power for longer without ffb fade issues. The TX you need to run it at around 70% power or face the potential of it overheating (i went through 2 motors on my tx)

I have the g920 bought from a catalogue pay monthly as I am on disability benefits catalogue company only had that choice or the g29 or g923 that was 2yrs ago, but with money limited I chose the g920 it does it job OK I drive in ATS and ETS2 plus Forza 5 ..

Biggest downside with the R3 being a console player is the lack of compatibility with ACC, not sure if they fixed it by now but very disappointing to hear at $400, like my cheap ass Ferrari thrust master with no FF is compatible with ACC
My g29 is compatible with my ps3, my ps4 and my pc - Including xbox games app. From Moza, only the r3 is xbox and pc compatible. The way I see it for me personally G29=pay less get more. Moza and many other DD manufacturers=pay more get less. G29 is enough for me as a casual sim Gamer across my consoles and pc. If I were to upgrade it would be Fanatec DD pro due to being somewhat cheaper compared to other DD wheels and compatibility with PS. But everytime I look at one I think fuck it, the price still just doesnt justify the purchase for me. Plus my g29 is still kicking hard so no need to replace it. And since I've never used a DD wheel, I dont know what im missing out on. Ill just keep using my g29 until it dies.

Went with the Logitech because I didn’t want to wait so long for Moza to finally release. I swear it took nearly a year for them to release it from when they first announced it.

That is a year range of arou d 2007 to 2020 loo,ing at year of release, if you as a simracer, after all those years still havent heard once of the sound or heard the sound itself it is a you issue. The rattle is so wellknown people just know it.
@FirssenSimracing because you're saying that gear and belt driven wheels are better than an equivalent strength direct drive wheel. Gears and belts have slop. Direct drive wheels don't have that slop, so they are able to have a more accurate response. That's not marketing hype, it's just how the mechanics of the system works. The more components the motion has to go through, the more tolerances are introduced, which results in less detailed feedback. DD is superior in that aspect.

We bought the r3 and the 923 and I returned the 923 yesterday. The r3 isn’t perfect but dd is awesome.

@@sheepmasterrace Several let you hear it, but when they don't it is because the whole internet is full of clips of the sound and the sound is the same with the: G25, G27, G29, G920, G923. That is a year range of arou d 2007 to 2020 loo,ing at year of release, if you as a simracer, after all those years still havent heard once of the sound or heard the sound itself it is a you issue. The rattle is so wellknown people just know it.

Small torque DDs are dead end in FFB development.
Gear and belt driven FFB wheels with similar toque beats that idea in terms of feeling any day.

@FirssenSimracing because you're saying that gear and belt driven wheels are better than an equivalent strength direct drive wheel. Gears and belts have slop. Direct drive wheels don't have that slop, so they are able to have a more accurate response. That's not marketing hype, it's just how the mechanics of the system works. The more components the motion has to go through, the more tolerances are introduced, which results in less detailed feedback. DD is superior in that aspect.
