EDIT: Aight, so I may have undersold Old Dragon a little, it's basically a choice you can make. Either Old or Protector, both work.
Regarding the 2/2/2022 pet balance changes, Turtle and Blue Whale are pretty much just as good now. Turtle's a bit worse in terms of EHP but essentially has a free pet slot since you don't need a Shelmet.

@@rigghost6331 Doesn't matter. If the damage kills you in one tap, it can't save you. Else it'd be possible to cheese the campfire trials with 100 health

By the way, you can activate your ult by pressing your drop key and activate the class ability (Seismic wave for tank) by pressing sprint and drop key.
I found using an earth shard pretty useful because the seismic wave keybind is pretty awkward to press

yeah it works but there are few bugs where you can drop your items sometimes when using the q key

cool vid, i think you should add a cata level at each floor to start grinding for that floor, low cata players tend to die a lot with that kind of gear
after the update nerfing drag armor in dungeons, use heavy armor with as high % as possible until u can use dungeonized old or prot drag armor or necromancer lord, and tanks "no kb" thing has been fixed and works as intended

I would recommend staying with old dragon armor instead of protector. While the ability of protector armor seems good. The ability only affects the armor's base stats itself, it wont be buffed by catacombs scaling, pet stats, fairy soul/base stats, or blessings. Old dragon's ability scales with catacombs levels, since the effectiveness of enchantments like growth and protection get scaled after the old dragon ability. This can make old close to as tanky as goldor armor when used correctly. Just remember that with old dragon armor, you MUST wear the full set. so as soon as you get access to the reaper mask, other armor sets (like goldor) will end up being much stronger.

Hm. When I tested Protector it definitely seemed like it was affected by Cata scaling (went from 5.6k Defense to 10.5k). You sure it isn't affected by Cata level
@@Powliner interesting, perhaps they changed it at some point to scale with cata level. I tried it wayyy back when dungeons first came out, so its definitely possible they updated it.
Probably yeah, otherwise doubling your Defense wouldn't really be possible. Old Dragon is still a nice alternative though, I should've given it more credit as like a you choose between the 2 type of deal. Makes you way tankier against True Damage too
@@Powliner Dread lord skulls deal true damage, old dragon does give more health. But protector gives more defense the lower ur health. In my opinion old dragon would be better because of dreadlords and there fancy true damage. and protector gives more defense the lower ur health which makes it worse when dealing with dreadlords.

Few tips from a tank: At the point of F6, you definitely should be running giant. It is so much more worth it than titanic or even perfect. Additionally, not everyone has fishing 26, but the soul whip is arguably the best tank weapon. With a reaper mask, syphon 4, and 1k crit damage (pretty easy to get with suspicious reforge) you heal 10% of your health per hit. You even get syphon from the right click ability as well, which lets you syphon multiple enemies. Additionally, if you're like me and like to have 100% crit chance even in Goldor (for boss) I put my legendaries on shaded and enriched them with crit chance. Also, remember dungeon potions exist and also your beacon exists as well for an easy source of crit chance.

@@larfee5191 Syphon 4 gives 0.5% of health regen, meaning 5% with 1k crit damage, and 10% with reaper mask. Syphon 4 isn't that expensive, so unless you're on ironman, you should always use it instead of Syphon 3

4:05 BLC has secret waypoints too. ik other mods are better, but as a MacOS user, I've struggled to install the smallest mods. Also, if u already have BLC, it's nice to just use it for SB

I think I got really lucky when I started dungeons. I got a full set of giant 5 star protector dragon armour for the lowest BIN. Pretty cool

Protector dragon armor does have a cata requirement in dungeouns if its dungeounized
I saw one of post by wiki admin that cata req. is actually buggy, that's why they decided to keep the cata req. level there.

For floor 6 I highly recomend Wand of Atonement ( Rev Slayer 7 Required )
I personally couldn't tank floor 6 terra phase but after buying the wand(4m) this days I don't even need to use the tank ability to tank the phase unless I'm low on mana & can't use the wand. It's such a great and underrated item honestly, I remember people were telling me to buy items that were like 50m to tank floor 6 when all I needed was this one simple cheap(4m) wand of atonement :)
out of curiosity, what cata level are you and what gear do you have?

that was my gear at that time after getting wand of atonement but recently I also bought ice spray wand(it's great) :D and jingle bells, I don't have svens 6 so I can't use mana-flux, radiant orb is useless to me at this point.
I might have been cata 25 when I couldn't tank the boss phase though

now dungeonized dragon armor has a cata 16 requirement so its better to buy dungeon carries until you unlock full shadow assasin or necromancer but you will still need grind your cata if you want to be mage
Tip: On a budget, rare and epic blue whales of decent level are pretty good. You can even use them as Bessemer or any other class if you’re having survival issues.
But leg blue Whales increase max hp by 20%
If you do get access to goldor, I feel like the best armour setup is Reaper Mask, 1/2 Goldor, and T12 Boots, all Giant, goldor boots are cool and all once you hit F7 because of the extra 10% damage reduction from wither mobs, but I get at least 200k EHP more with perfect boots (Not using Astraea though, if you use Astraea goldor boots are likely better because the Extra Defense from the pefect boots is outweighed by it's defense.)
After f7 literally no point in that, u already can survive almost everything, and if u can't u need higher cata.
Also if you have giant on its better for tanks to use full goldor

Btw as a veteran tank I can say firsthand that a revived heart is way better than goldor or necro helmet because syphon is really good, cheaper alternative to reaper mask

Archer guide ? What is there to guide... Get a juju and kill everything, grin f6/f7 till u get handle, become mage grind f7 more, buy eman gear get ender 7 and do mm

Epic/leg blue whale is good for tank as well but it is expensive especially since that they nerfed yeti
You don’t have a lot of strength as a tank so yeti is terrible for tank
Then don't play dungeons if ur low on budget
Epic Blue Whale isn't worth it imo and Yeti was pretty much just as expensive (also very bad for Tank why would you use this)

I do recommend another thing for tanks and that is using t12 perfect boots as they are better then goldor boots by 2.7% and that small percentage along with how early you can get then (no cata req + no boss completion req) makes it 100% worth it and better then your current boots even if they are goldor boots
Goldor boots reduce your damage from withers by 10% though, making it still better for f7

adaptive is enough for f6 if you have a whale pet
old is better than protector and if you are stupid and get g6p6 on it, it can even work on F7, I do not understand why but it just does

TBH I switched from arch to tank because no one plays tank on f5 or f6 which makes the boss fight litterally impossible to survive

btw quick tip for most people who are lower cata it will be nearly impossible to do f6 with necro lord (monke finder) unless they are like cata 35+ get goldor's + reaper's mask to get into parties

It's funny how the tank was originally made to be basically an armored cannon, to do lots of damage to enemies while being armored so enemies couldn't disarm it easily (Like what is the point of a tank if it doesn't shoot things, you might as well not have it on the battlefield if it just sits there and does nothing). Now it's literally known as something that is heavily armored and just sits there.
Only in Skyblock it's like this. Other games have tank heroes/classes/etc that resemble that of a real life tank, being slow, doing lots of damage and having lots of HP
Tip with flower of truth: Craft with 9 ancient rose much cheaper.
