trying to make a Modpack of create and this was VERY helpful. I did have all of these in place and ia few more QOL mods. good to know it was headed in a good direction.
Other people have said it in the comments, but Sophisticated Backpacks really is the perfect mod for Create with the context that you can sneak-place them in the world. Fluid tanks and batteries increase in size exponentially with stack size upgrades, so it's really easy to get more lava than you'll ever know what to do with, or a cheap as chips accumulator in the event that you're running Crafts & Addons to get electric gear. It can also serve as a bridge for any mod that generates electricity, like electrodynamics or immersive engineering. Ad Astra's also a neat one to include with it, if not simply for the fact that you can get a massive amount of building material (iron pillars/plating) off of an iron generator.
What storage mod you choose is down to preference, but one option I'd like to highlight that has a somewhat different philosophy from storage drawers is packages. Don't get me wrong, storage drawers are fantastic for getting storage problems out of your way and letting you focus on create. That said, "storage problems" are some of the most interesting problems to solve, so if you want to give your play-through a bit more depth you might want to consider using something like packages. As you might guess, the mod adds something called packages to the game. Packages function similarly to storage drawers but only hold 8 stacks of items. However, they have a superpower: much like shulker boxes, they retain their contents when broken. Better yet, packages can be used to store other packages, though because they have a stack size of 1 you can only fit 8. This makes them capable of arbitrarily dense item storage if you're willing to put in a bit of work automating it - for example, four-deep nesting is enough to store 16,384 items (8^4 stacks of 64). If you're a technical player, packages may provide the perfect balance between power and challenge you're looking for. Because I play with friends I included storage drawers for those who want to use it as well as packages for folks like me who want to explore the depth offered by vanilla storage tech with a bit of a twist. To me, it perfectly fits create's design philosophy of enhancing the vanilla game's depth by giving the player new options rather than seeking to replace it outright.
the weirdness from item vaults and tom's simple storage is likely because item vaults are a multiblock. Every block of the item vault is being connected via the inventory connector, so it thinks you have like 53 dirt when it is in fact just 1 dirt being technically stored across like 53 blocks. There is an option within the config of Tom's to add multiblock ids, the only issue is that you will need to manually add every item vault beyond the one you directly place the connector onto. Also, you can just put a terminal directly onto the face of a vault for an absurd amount of storage
Can also recommend Tool Belt, pressing its hotkey brings up a selection wheel of any tools you’ve put inside it, useful if you’re using a different backpack mod!
You can place sophisticated backpacks and connect to AE2 or RS with a single storage interface. So much cheaper than making disc drives and memory cells. The big drawback on the create vaults is that you can only store up to 104k items of the same type. So massive create factories need additional mods to store large amounts. Just some things to ponder, I believe storage to be the biggest hurdle in both Minecraft and Modpacks. Adding more blocks needs to go hand in hand with a good storage plan.
I will say i LOVE toms simple storage, it is such a nice and fairly early game storage system that wont need any power at all, also good to know i can use it with create vaults
I think the village at 8:30 is from ChoiceTheorem’s Overhauled Village, i usually play with that mod and it seems to be the same style, villages from choice theorem’s often seem to have some kind of castle-like structure in the middle. As for world gen, Terralith and Tectonic is a great combination but i think Immersive Weathering is a nice extra touch. Although Immersive Weathering is less world gen than the other two it does add multiple new types of ground blocks which look really nice and add more variety to the ground (ive also heard that the new ground blocks speed up growth of certain crops and this is compatible with Farmer’s Delight, although i have not yet gotten around to testing this). Immersive Weathering is also just a cool mod, it makes the world a bit more dynamic by adding things like stone thats near water becoming mossy, small piles of leaves on forest floors or bricks in builds becoming more weathered over time. Just cool details like that
What is that thing in the upper middle...? ... Thanks to you I now know the answer. Thank you so much! :) There's times when I wonder why Iron Vaults didn't just come with the ability to at least look inside them by default... Also totally agree that those are some awesome looking Mountains. My strat of choice, confronted with how to go about sending a Train Line from one side to the other, would totally be the Dwarven way: "Go straight through and Tame the Mountain in the process."... ⛏
Storage Drawers and Functional Storage are cool, but you might get more utility out of Sophisticated Storage. Most people might know it from Sophisticated Backpacks, but it also lets you modify chests and barrels and add most of the upgrades and more
When using Functional Storage in Creative, you have to break it from the top or the side. You also can't remove items while in Creative. You can add, but you have to go back to Survival to remove. I set all of Croptopia in Creative, locked it, removed all items in Survival, and trashed them.
With Tom's simple storage you only need one storage connector and it will connect with all chests that are touching each other (doesn't need to be chests, works with drawers too
I would add, since a few of these weren’t create specific so I feel it counts, mouse tweaks. If you don’t use mouse tweaks, leave right now. That and apple skin. Those felt just as worthy of being in this video as JEI and Jade.
"Nobody wants to do this with all the cobblestone from the CobbleStone 10,000 (stacks a few chests on top of each other)." You should see me in Vanilla Minecraft! When he said this, I literally looked at the screen expecting to see a 20x20x20 cube of chests using the fill command because that would literally be me in Create if I didn't have Storage mods.
you can also go into the Jade mod config and enable it to show the info from the create goggles, and you can even select if you want it to require the goggles or not
I prefer sophisticated storage. It adds a lot of different storage options and upgrades. If like barrel's then sophisticated storage is the way to go. Plus you can make iron gold diamond barrels stuff like that. The higher the tier the more storage, these do work with contraptions like a mining drill.
theres sophisticated storage which ads its own sets of drawers as well as upgradable chests, you can have a single chest which store billions of items, and they work as a regular inventory though personally i LIKE linking things up, rather than the items wirelessly transmitting themselves....
Instead of functional storage or storage drawers have a look at sophisticated storage limited barrels, they come in I, II, III and IV and with compression upgrade become like compacting drawers and the other upgrades are very nice too. Also, did you know that having a sophisticated chest with a hopper upgrade on top of the controller will only hopper in items that are already somewhere in the network, even normal sophisticated storage chests and barrels, making it ideal for dumping off all your stuff and sorting it automatically without filling up all your chests with random crap.
I never really understood why people use these backpack mods and not Traveler's Backpacks. It's the same thing but with Traveler's Backpack does it better and even adds some more useful and interesting features
no modpack is complete without the abnormals mods. so many useful features like the kiln to smelt glass and clay faster. but really its just more content that fits right in with Minecraft because they put in unbelievable amounts of effort to make sure everything is connected and supported. they consider Minecraft mechanics you don't even know exists
Honestly I prefer Sophisticated Storage over Functional/Drawers They have Limited Barrels now, which upgrade just the same as always, AND have increments for each stage, INCLUDING a 3 segmented one They can also have select faces locked or unlocked, so if you want 1 slot dedicated to one item, and the other to be open to anything, you can do that
I think my sophisticated Backpacks are broken I only have like half the upgrades. (And) Every mod that i like but font know I know know it and have it apart from the missing Sophisticated Backpacks upgrades.
imo emi (jei alternative) with all of its related addons + xaero's minimap + world map + open parties and claims are better than jei + ftb chunks edit: forgot about trinkets (it's fabric only)
I cant live without my Refined Storage or Applied... And there is a neat textue pack for refined that makes it more more steampunky look that fits create really well
Instead of mining andersite you should mine diorite and craft it together with coblestone. This way you get twice as much andersite for every block mined (assuming you have enough coblestone)
there is also a combin mod version for the googles and helmets so you can combin them and the will give the protec. and the feat. of the googles also you can use the curios slots for your backback to still wear your chestplate
Yo when are you going to do another video n your create series again also if so can you upload at least 1 time a week if possible just want more videos and love your content
Terralith is actually a pretty bad choice for Create, because with it installed, andesite ONLY generates in andesite caves. There are datapacks that restore stone generation to normal, but otherwise, it's something people should keep in mind when combining these two mods.
Just a bit note ahead, the Nature Compass does NOT work well with Alex’s Caves. I mean, sure, it does show that it CAN find it, but just try to click on it (It’s actually a bit funny, actually).
slight preference but i prefer xearios mini and world map mods are wayyyy better for a map, the waypoints are super easy to see without being distracted and you can claim chunks for it
I think that Teralith is very nice except for the part where it prevents me from having different world types! I plan out all of my builds in a superflat testing world, but Teralith makes it so that I cannot generate anything other than a normal world. (Also I've been having fun recently in large biomes with trains and stuff, which of course Teralith doesn't allow)
Easy villager seemed like a good mod but I looked at the mod page and they also add an iron farm in one block and an automatic crop farm in one block, it's a bit too much op for me and not very create mod-friendly in my opinion.
@@benjaminmiddaugh2729clutter. The main problem with Minecraft mods these days. Every mod trying to do everything again.
May I suggest Inventorio? It's basically the inventory update Minecraft *needs* that Mojang doesn't want to give us
I think the village at 8:30 is from ChoiceTheorem’s Overhauled Village, i usually play with that mod and it seems to be the same style, villages from choice theorem’s often seem to have some kind of castle-like structure in the middle.
There's times when I wonder why Iron Vaults didn't just come with the ability to at least look inside them by default...
Also totally agree that those are some awesome looking Mountains. My strat of choice, confronted with how to go about sending a Train Line from one side to the other, would totally be the Dwarven way: "Go straight through and Tame the Mountain in the process."... ⛏
The problem I had with farmers delight is that I got too caught up with being a farmer and a chef and just kinda neglected create
Same i became gordon ramsay
Im the oposite, i always get it but never use it
Storage Drawers and Functional Storage are cool, but you might get more utility out of Sophisticated Storage.
With Tom's simple storage you only need one storage connector and it will connect with all chests that are touching each other (doesn't need to be chests, works with drawers too
I prefer Pretty Pipes over Tom's Simple Storage myself.
Agreed, if only Logistic Pipes was updated to the newer versions of minecraft
@@dmb1881 And I prefer Integrated Dynamics (with it's addons) over Pretty Pipes.
Someone also made a backpack mod for create that uses sophisticated backpacks and the vaults, and it's huge
I'm really liking the create tutorials arc this guy is having

@@pierce7992 late reply but yes same
You only need one mod causing issues
@@lorrdy7640 unless you remove that one mod or just add a couple of the mods listed here
@@pierce7992 Yeah, it always feels weird and out of place when I encounter it in a mod pack
you can also go into the Jade mod config and enable it to show the info from the create goggles, and you can even select if you want it to require the goggles or not
Thank you for telling me about Jade. I was trying to find this for my mod pack that I was making.
I prefer sophisticated storage. It adds a lot of different storage options and upgrades. If like barrel's then sophisticated storage is the way to go. Plus you can make iron gold diamond barrels stuff like that. The higher the tier the more storage, these do work with contraptions like a mining drill.
I’m happy to say I already chose all of these independently for my personal mod pack.
I think you could also include some mods like create easy structures, create structures arise and dynamic village
theres sophisticated storage which ads its own sets of drawers as well as upgradable chests, you can have a single chest which store billions of items, and they work as a regular inventory
though personally i LIKE linking things up, rather than the items wirelessly transmitting themselves....
For storage drawers, what about sophisticated storage?
I personally recommend Refined storage or AE as a storage mod (If you want a simple mod use Refined storage, if not use AE)
Never did I think that I would feel threatened by a guy crouching forward with goggles on yelling at me to get curios
Villager Workers and to a lesser extent Villager Guards really fit create from the looks of it with the automation stuff and all that.
Hey wasn't there also a mod that added structures using create, supplementaries, quark and farmer's delight blocks and items?
Honestly I prefer Sophisticated Storage over Functional/Drawers
They have Limited Barrels now, which upgrade just the same as always, AND have increments for each stage, INCLUDING a 3 segmented one
They can also have select faces locked or unlocked, so if you want 1 slot dedicated to one item, and the other to be open to anything, you can do that
I think my sophisticated Backpacks are broken I only have like half the upgrades. (And) Every mod that i like but font know I know know it and have it apart from the missing Sophisticated Backpacks upgrades.
instead of functional storage I'd recommend Sophisticated Storage every time of the day. It can do everything functional storage can but alot more.
Tom's Simple Storage is a fast and easy way to access the items in your drills
Hey could you start a create mod series
imo emi (jei alternative) with all of its related addons + xaero's minimap + world map + open parties and claims are better than jei + ftb chunks
edit: forgot about trinkets (it's fabric only)
I cant live without my Refined Storage or Applied...
And there is a neat textue pack for refined that makes it more more steampunky look that fits create really well
Instead of mining andersite you should mine diorite and craft it together with coblestone. This way you get twice as much andersite for every block mined (assuming you have enough coblestone)
I did watch it till the end
But
What is the mode that tells you what your looking at???
Jade
no, its HWYLA or WAILA depending of the version, jade its just a 1.18+ copy
@@shawnrobinson258 yes, jade it is
even refine storage and applied connects to vaults btw
I love the combo from tinker construct and create.
hot take: storage drawer is better then functional storage because it is more create friendly
Tom's simple storage requires create compatibility mod for it to work with Tom's storage.
there is also a combin mod version for the googles and helmets so you can combin them and the will give the protec. and the feat. of the googles also you can use the curios slots for your backback to still wear your chestplate
What’s up dejojo I can’t believe that you have made it to 50k congrats I remember when you were at 400 and first started you create series
The one mod you didn't talk about was the one displaying the info on the cabinets.
Hidden gem though, ComputerCraft and Create. Hear me out, custom rig create based turrets that autolock onto enemies within a certain area
Because sometimes it is too hard to find flat space to build on with Terralith.
I prefer Traveler's Backpack, but you do you
Yo when are you going to do another video n your create series again also if so can you upload at least 1 time a week if possible just want more videos and love your content
Ik this was 4 days ago but i demand a part 2
Dejojo my fav addon so far is create: new age, it adds so much for you to do and JESUS CHRIST the engines consume su like a mad man
slight preference but i prefer xearios mini and world map mods are wayyyy better for a map, the waypoints are super easy to see without being distracted and you can claim chunks for it
I think that WTHIT is a better option than JEID because it shows what tool you should use to break the block you are looking at
I think that Teralith is very nice except for the part where it prevents me from having different world types! I plan out all of my builds in a superflat testing world, but Teralith makes it so that I cannot generate anything other than a normal world. (Also I've been having fun recently in large biomes with trains and stuff, which of course Teralith doesn't allow)
14:47 What mod is it?
I'd recommend create: connected, amazing QOL mod for create
I actually use nearly all of these, except for Terralith and Tectonic.
Oooh! JADE...........
But whats that thing on the top that shows the block you're looking at?
Easy villager seemed like a good mod but I looked at the mod page and they also add an iron farm in one block and an automatic crop farm in one block, it's a bit too much op for me and not very create mod-friendly in my opinion.
Pro tip: a feature existing is not a requirement for you to use it.
@@benjaminmiddaugh2729clutter. The main problem with Minecraft mods these days. Every mod trying to do everything again. A mod pack with 10 mods has 10 chunckloaders of various quality and price, 10 new drops on a zombie. 10 new ways to press iron etc etc. Just messy and not immersive. I don't know what possessed you to type type that out like we have no idea and we don't have a point. One reason vanilla is so clean is that one block has X amount of uses and there is little overlap unlike modded where every little thing needs a new block that you'll use once or twice and never again.
@@bulkinggod3872 I'd appreciate it if you didn't assume that my statement addressing a comment with limited context meant that I must naturally believe that it applies in all cases in all ways. The complaint I was responding to was about two features in one mod with no mention whatsoever of mod packs. In that case, I am quite willing to ignore features that I don't want.
However, I also prefer my mod packs to be curated with as little feature overlap as is practical. But that wasn't what I was addressing, and I see no need to exhaustively address every possibly-related context when making a reply.
@@benjaminmiddaugh2729 I'd suggest you properly read in the future to prevent this kind of hypocrisy. My reply was directly in response to you, which was a directly criticism of OPs opinion in the form of a condescending 'pro tip'. I replied seeing as you clearly ignored possible reasoning other than 'they must be dumb'. I provided a simple example for you, not too dissimilar to what you did. The difference is yours was stupid and mine was common sense, mod pack or no. Mods add bloat that is a factual statement unlike your asinine 'dont prez buton u don't lik' (FYI the download and install button is a button too).
So i call you out, you could have taken the L or even trolled. But no you act like I'm typing in Cantonese, and start talking about 'all cases all ways'. No I'm talking about your dumb pro tip SPECIFICALLY mate. Nobody here is stupid we know what you meant by your comment, it's not the stealth dig you think it is.
Pro tip: you can learn some social skills outside
@@bulkinggod3872 Calling me a hypocrite without usable internet social skills is not a way to incline the person you are engaging with to believe that you are engaging in good faith, especially since you have not engaged usefully with what I already said. (You certainly engaged me, but I wouldn't call what you said useful or relevant to what I said in a way that lets me know usefully how I might better understand your difference of opinion or how to better explain my own.) As such, you may take what little troll-food I have given you and go in search of better trolling elsewhere. I may have been overly snarky, but you have certainly not done a good job of being a better example of civil internet discourse. Good day.

Mekanism is awesome mod for storage + u have cables and get trashcan mod so u can trash item very easy with mekanism mod
Very cool video that I watched all the way to the end.
What is the mod that shows you what you're looking at though, I don't think you mentioned it.
what is that mod u used in the video when you copied the blocks from the ground?
Hey I love the "mod of extreme importance", but what was the mod that shows you what you are looking at? lol
