I approve! Does the valve leak at all? I have 2 valves I plan on installing to make sure it doesn't leak. Do you feel more power and have you dynoed stock exhaust vs cutout?
I've driven one of these and was surprised with how fast and torquey the truck felt...I want to know what the real world MPG is for a decent road trip. I have a 5.3 now in a 2016 Sierra and am fine with the power I have but if the 2.7 got a significant jump in MPG, I'd be interested.
I recently drove to Lake George NY for memorial day weekend. Going down 87 heading back home doing bout 70-75 mph i was getting 26mpg. And i also recently got an obd accessory gauge and gauge pod that reads correct boost pressure and ive seen it spike up to 25psi during hard pulls.
Why would you not want it to recirculate back through the turbo? That engine was engineered to operate like that. Seems like it will cause possible issues.
You may already know this but adding that blow off/recirc valve adapter with the hole in it will lose you some power and cause a rich condition between shifts. The computer might not pick it up but that is what's happening. That's metered air escaping. I can explain it further if that doesn't make since. No hate just putting it out there in case you or someone didn't know.
@@AMERICAN_GEARHEAD Nice! Yeah I was thinking back to my old days with my WRX. 99% were manuals then and the bov guys could shoot a little flame between shifts lol
@mt186 tbh honest I sometimes wish this thing had a 5 or 6 speed stick. But when i have my cutout open i either put it in tow/haul or put it down in L and select shift it.
Does the cutout sound like an exaust leak when it’s closed and driving down the road ? I had cutouts a few years ago on a hemi and it did that u had to hold down on the close bottom to keep it sealed. If u let off the button it had an exaust leak and the plate rattled

Welding without gloves. This guy is a really man 💪🏻 😂😂
Its a lifestyle choice 😂

From what i can tell it doesn't leak and when i have it open it seems more snappier but i have not had it on the dyno yet

I haven't done any serious long trips yet with it but ive seen as much as over 23mpg on highways over 50 mile trips.
I have 22k on my 2021 and I get 19mpg average... FL to VA and VA to NH
I’ve got a 21 and get 22mpg most times
13,000 mile on the clock and 21.5 on the computer from when first purchased.

Honestly i just like way it sounds and its been on there over a year and so far so good

It doesnt blow off during shifting its an automatic only when i let off the gas pedal.
@@AMERICAN_GEARHEAD That's true. It will run rich when you come off the throttle is what I should've said
Ive got a a/f gauge on it to monitor it along with boost and intake temps

I think it sounds better if you just did a muffler delete. keep the resonator, but lose the muffler.. attach a 3" stainless pipe and you're done..
Nobody cares!
Should have turned the back round music down
Oh this is cool, where do we get the Blow off valve adapter?

Only really noticeable during idle. Otherwise its pretty quiet.
@@AMERICAN_GEARHEAD what do they cost ?
@Bartley Oaks between the y pipe, the cutout valve, the turndown, and control box was a bit overver 300
Saw on the reviews it was making people’s truck throw check engine lights has that happened to you?
Not at all. And I now have almost 7k miles on the truck now.
Where did you get you wheel liners from
Its actually just undercoating I had done when I had the bed liner sprayed in.
Any check engine lights ? 22.5 or 22?
None. Not sure what you meant by 22.5 or 22. Its a 22 refresh not limited.
So is it still the stock exhaust system? You didn’t do a muffler delete?
The muffler and resonator are still there. I can have it either stock and quiet or cut out open and dumped out before the muffler.
@@AMERICAN_GEARHEADthat’s genius
Can you post where you got the cut off ?

Gonna need the y pipe, turndown, and key fob controller as well
Your brother has to be the slowest welder on planet earth. Entire video was him
Sounds like you new string on that weed wacker
Sounds kind of wierd😮
Kind of sounds like a wind-up toy. I prefer the sound of a V8. But good video.
How much you pay to get that
Like 300 something in parts
and what are the parts you bought, to know
@Salvador 3" qtp exhasut cutout, qtp 3" turn down, qtp 3" y pipe, and their one touch key fob remote control box
Sounds like a $500 ragged out pos Honda civic
“Ragged out”? Your comment sounds like a POS if we’re being honest.
This is fast and furious’ fault
You have that right
I got family
Sounds like a Honda
I have a 2.7 but stock. It does sound like Honda. I'm thinking it should have the reliability of a Honda right.
2.7 lol
More torque than the 5.3
@@AMERICAN_GEARHEAD yup
Don't knock that 2.7 until you drive it!
ALOT more torque than the 5.3, and the best part at HALF the RPM. Waiting for my canyon Denali to arrive!
