Wowzers, no r/watchpeopledie or r/nomorals? That's okay, I can't really act that surprised - I'd hate to imagine doing research into those pages. * shudders *
/r/watchpeopledie is surprisingly educational (has been subscribed to the sub for four years and it made me reflect on life a lot) and /r/nomorals had been banned months ago.
I think he only mentioned dead subreddits on purpose. Don't want to give them any more traffic than they need Personally, I'm shocked he didn't mention the Boston Bombing massacre incident. That one is really popular around reddit.
r/watchpeopledie has helped A LOT of people starting off in the medical profession (EMS, ER, etc) and helped a lot of people suffering with depression to see that life is short and to cherish every minute. It's seen as a place for people to view the horrors of the world. Death and dying is romanticized in movies and tv and I think that subreddit is a really good place for people to understand the gravity of those subjects: death is not pretty, death is not beautiful, death is not some 13 Reasons Why BS, death is not a game mechanic or a plot device, death is something incredibly serious.
Tbh i always liked reading stuff on r/shoplifting because i found it kinda entertaining on all the ways people would come up with ways to steal. And there was people who would post things saying they just stole this then a week later say they got caught when they went back to the store. Just found those things funny.
Just like to say that r/gunsforsale is not inherently bad as private sales of firearms is legal in the US. Just look at armslist or gunbroker for more examples
Good afternoon, Mr. Monger. I love your videos and hope you keep up the hard work you are putting in to entertain your audience! We love watching your videos, and it pleases us to comment on your videos and chat with each other. Thank you for letting us do so.
Banning a subreddit is like popping a pimple: it may have felt good to get rid of it, but now you've sent shit flying everywhere. If you can't, say, post about being involuntarily celibate in r/Incels, what's stopping them from posting about it in r/MLP? or r/Thots? or r/Feminism? You haven't gotten rid of the problem, you've just spread it everywhere.
You seriously put shoplifting over crushing misogyny, abusive relationships, illegal gun sales and child pornography? Sorry if I'm offending anyone but I think the stuff Monger talked about before that was waaaayyy worse than shoplifting. (Oh God Monger I commented so much, I'm sorry. I just have so many opinions on these beings that create awful communities like this. Still Love you though, your videos are awesome)
Morbidcrab Of course misandry is a problem, too. Don't worry I'm no feminazi that wants superiority for women. Sorry if I made you believe that I think misandry isn't an important issue, too.

Weird to think how reddit was once like that. Save for a few subreddits, the general tone of reddit now makes me feel like I'm being administered a mandatory castration.

r/gunsforsale was all about the legal selling of firearms through info of gun shows and online stores that are approved by the FBI. It was banned as a huge shock to the gun community whom got many guns from their site. Reddit expressed no reason to ban it and rightfully so the gun lovers were outraged. I happened to have been subbed to r/ar15 (and later r/ak47) who both showed sadness to this news. Fun fact, r/gunsforsale was a "default" subreddit (a subreddit shown to the person whilst making their account"
I mean, there were times where certain boards made it on the news but besides that 4chan is similar to reddit but more porn and weebs but better memes.

Well, I really hate to generalize, but if people like that subreddit make up the bulk of trumps supporters nowadays, we are all fucked. You can’t scroll back a day without seeing calls for geonocide or mass killings against various minorities and political opponents to the president. That is when they don’t celebrate fascist dictators like Pinochet or actual killings. The subreddit is todate indirectly responsible for at least two deaths, firstly the murder of heather heyer at the events at Charlottesville for which the subreddit heavily advertised and of the father of a subscriber of t_d who was stabbed to death by his son because his constant consuming of that subreddit and similar media had him convinced his father was part of a liberal conspiracy out to get him. It is suspected that almost half the subscribers are bots and reddit recently admitted that russian troll farms had a strong activity on the subreddit. It is literally the worst.

Before sitting down and watching this video proper, I wanna point out, as RPGM here mentioned at the beginning of this and every video, it doesn't go for all content of the subject matter. A perfect example is reddit done well is the Final Fantasy Record Keeper reddit. The FFRK folk are the nicest, most helpful, incredibly useful sources of video game information I've ever seen. It is PURELY thanks to their effort that we global players can turn this gacha phone game into a beautiful art form. Because they compile information we get from the JP version of the game (which is 6 months ahead of us in terms of release, i.e. their Winter Festival is rebranded as our Summer Festival, etc etc), we know when to save our precious in-game gacha money (Mythril) for the events that really matter, when new abilities and characters are coming to us, and what to expect from each and every event. It is a glorious example of teamwork and effort, and they do it every single week, for every single event we get!! So I just wanna say "hats off to you, oh Keepers. You glorious diligent bastards, you. You make a game I'd set down after a few months keep me invested for over two years now!"
The whole concept of 'common sense' is meaningless, everyone has their own idea of what it is...I find it tiring to hear "it isn't so common anymore," when it was never common in the first place. I'd think that a Danganronpa fan would have considered Oma's description of common sense, that it varies per person, but I seem to be sorely mistaken. Huge fan of RpgMonger but...seriously...just think about it.
Except people who play with fire often had reasons... which could be either understandable or incomprehensible. Did they play with fire because they had a choice, or because they felt they were immune to the consequences? But that's neither here or there. The main point is, everyone has different standards of what is 'acceptable' and that in turn, makes the common ground of what is acceptable to be non-existent; because it is simply too varied by the sheer number of possible point of views and circumstances. Common sense doesn't exist because it is accessible to everyone, and everyone has customized their own type of common sense according to their own personal point of views and circumstances. Once that is done, you can't expect something that has been customized to that extent to "always" fit into a wide majority any longer. The only common thing about common sense is that everyone has a different common sense, that's it. Sure, it could fit into something smaller (a smaller community) but expecting people to have common sense is like expecting people of different nationalities to have exactly the same out view of other countries in the world. Think of it this way, the following statement "world war two was bad, and if world war three comes around, its also bad". Now, 'Common sense' dictate that people should all agree that this is true, because countless death was caused. But extreme positive (for arms dealer or people who profit from wars or simply have a liking to wars and watch the world burn) and extreme negative bias (hippies or pacifists or human rights advocates) will still exist in actuality.
@minaly, It's not "too varied". Common sense is about avoiding stupid crap that will get you in trouble. And even if someone *isn't* caught, they shouldn't do it in the first place. Even if someone has a reason for doing what they did, that does not justify it.
Wait, r/gunsforsale was banned? Why? It's perfectly legal to buy guns online. You might have to go through a FFL so you can get a background check, but otherwise, legal.
At the end i like how reddit works, as long as you aren't directly harming others, you can speak your mind, no matter how horrible others may find it Because everything is person to person and if we tried to censor everything we didn't want, people could ban your favorite subreddit just because the majority didn't like it
I was one of those 77000 /r/shoplifting subscribers, but I was in no means a participant. I simply subscribed because I was fascinated that a community like it existed.
As a woman who turned 18 just a year ago, I feel so horrible knowing shit like those two first subreddits were actually something that existed and that the website owners allowed to grow. I imagine my friends having their photos leaked into something like that, and no one doing anything about it. So gross, Jesus Christ.
I don't have a particularly good history with Reddit. I had a video bashed solely because I mangled the Attack on Titan theme song a bit to try to avoid CID (which didn't even work) and the Source Filmmaker subreddit expects a complete novice with little experience with the program who isn't getting paid to make stuff and probably never will to produce pure gold. Then I got shadowbanned because according to the reddit mod, I only used the site to promote my videos and not interact with any communities even though I'm not even a very sociable person so I started only posting my work to subreddits that specifically allowed it in their rules.
"If he's worth a damn as a brother..." double standards much? like don't be stealing your younger siblings date it would just be fair game if you finally get a girl and he steals yo girl.

I kinda thought he'd mention watchpeopledie in passing at the very least.
r/asterisks
/r/watchpeopledie is surprisingly educational (has been subscribed to the sub for four years and it made me reflect on life a lot) and /r/nomorals had been banned months ago.
I think he only mentioned dead subreddits on purpose. Don't want to give them any more traffic than they need
Personally, I'm shocked he didn't mention the Boston Bombing massacre incident.
I actually lurked /r/shoplifting so much, it was fascinating as hell. Most subscribers didn't even shoplift, they just liked seeing how others do it
Sorta like reading a heist novel or something, right?

Common sense means thinks before you act; don't so stupid shit that may cause you to get burned when you play with fire.
@@Stew91 But what gets you into trouble varies from culture, upbringing, etc.
I remember r/shoplifting. I was subbed to it as a joke. Which I think some people have done with some of the other ones.

At the end i like how reddit works, as long as you aren't directly harming others, you can speak your mind, no matter how horrible others may find it
Because everything is person to person and if we tried to censor everything we didn't want, people could ban your favorite subreddit just because the majority didn't like it
I was one of those 77000 /r/shoplifting subscribers, but I was in no means a participant. I simply subscribed because I was fascinated that a community like it existed.
Honestly Jailbait doesn't sound that bad, but holy shit stuff like r/beating women makes me sick
I think it's because I'm 15 myself, so it doesn't sound that bad.
You NEED to do the Yandere Simulator fandom next!
Salt Sama It seems more like a cult to me.
Ooooh! That's hot!
That's reeal hot!
That fandom is just a bunch of preteen edgelords. Seems more cringy than harmful to me
Aaron Hernandez It still deserves a fandom file. The fandom is constantly at war with itself, and have been known to harass people.
The shoplifting one was by far the least horrifying, should have put that one first it was very anticlimactic
