Fascinating Fact: Longlegs writer-director Oz Perkins is the son of actor Anthony Perkins, aka "Norman Bates" from the original Psycho.
😱😱😱 that’s next level creepy!
You definitely have to get that poster framed
You know, if you need a safe place to store that poster, i can give you my mailing address 😂
If unexplainable things start happening around the house, you're my second call...after a priest.
Os was in Legally Blonde?????? Mic drop lol that is so random thanks for sharing that! I had no idea he was an actor before he started directing by the way I have heard Longlegs is getting rave reviews from everybody who has watched it but everybody is also saying its pretty disturbing and sick and twisted lol the most common thing I have heard is watch with caution lol
Wait… a filmmaker who hasn’t seen Silence Of The Lambs? Tf?
I stopped watching immediately after she said that😂 Seems nice but WTF?
Definitely a new Boogeyman. I hope they do a prequel. I wanna see more of Nic Cage playing Longlegs. His reveal in the intro was so unsettling
Store the poster? Maybe hanging inside your closet door as a way to forget it exists? Also, you hit the nail on the head so perfectly when you said it allows moments of hilarity to cause the viewer to drops their defenses. A movie that did this for me recently was Evil Dead Rise where I went in thinking campy and the opening scene was and then kinda turned a bit. But then as the movie waxed on and the tiny bits of humor and the building evil dread thing just NGL freaked me out and I felt scared. Its on a personal basis of how scared one can get from this humor/dread tightrope that the maestros throw at us and is shown in this movie well where some say boring and others say greatest horror in ages and a new boogeyman is born.
@@dealwolfstriked272 walking the tightrope of dread from situational comedy and impending terror is EXACTLY the kind of thing that gets me peak stressed! Thank you for defining it so well!
@@dealwolfstriked272 evil dead rise is also 💯💯💯
Just hang the poster up either on the back of a closet door or at the back of the closet - that way you can get the proper scares for guests! 😂
Great video!
Genius 👏🏼👏🏼
Do not just hang that poster. Don't put any tape, holes, or tares whatsoever. Try and frame it and keep it in pristine condition.
You are pretty good at this! Seems like it may be new to you but really good job. Well stated.
Thank you so much! I am *new* to UA-cam so I'm grateful that you found me here!
I just found your content. You have some really great takes. Based on your review, I will go see Longlegs in theaters.
Honestly, I absolutely hated the movie. The 3rd act felt nonsensical. Some of the characters had very confusing responses to things. I also feel like there were really cool concepts that they never did anything with. My husband and I were sorly disappointed. I also felt like they were going for silence of the lambs, I just don't think they did it well. I am happy some people liked it, I guess I wasn't the right audience for it.
Absolutely incredible review for a fantastic movie. Clearly communicated thoughts & dope editing. More people need to sub to you. I'm definitely subscribing.
Stop paying attention once she said she's never seen Silence Of The Lambs...yeah lost all credibility at that point!
Excellent review. I just got back from seeing it and this film is dark, unhinged, and nightmarish. Loved it and it's Osgood Perkins' best film to date.
@@dionysoscub unhinged is an excellent description 👏🏼
???
This movie sucked ass.
Keep up the good. Reviews. ❤
thank you!!🦋
No idea how you have less than 100 subs. I really liked your review. New sub. Also I agree with your take on Hereditary. I was as eager to see that one as this. Hereditary and When Evil Lurks are the only two films in memory that I had built up so much in my head, that I was so full on anxiety watching them that found myself yearning for the end credits so I finally knew "it was safe". I feel like this may fall into that as well.
Side note: I'll buy that signed poster if you really don't know what to do with it. 🙃Cheers mate.
thank you for your kind words! yes, that is a great way to describe a good dread-inducing film!
HOW HAVE YOU NOT SEEN SILENCE OF THE LAMBS, GOSH
I like you definitely subscribed. Need more videos. But girl how you making a comparison to a movie you haven’t seen😭🤣
haha you're right! guess I just need to watch SOTL...
That theater though... 😮 Movie looks awesome 💯 excited for it!
the theater is BEAUTIFUL! highly recommend seeking out independent or restored theaters near you. they're such a wonderful treasure trove of history.
Fabulous review
beautiful with a great voice!! i enjoyed this review!!
tysm shayla!!🦋
Great review. Nic Cage disturb me and made me laugh. At first I felt like thats it? But its sitting with me!
Just found your channel
I also review horror movies
I enjoy your style 🙌🏻
Keep it up 💪🏻
P.S. I just subed 🤘🏻
glad we found each other! looking forward to checking out your reviews!
Good review. I’m subscribed.
wow, thank you!!🦋
@@moviemija I’m going to see Longlegs tomorrow night. I hope not to be let down like I was with Late Night with the Devil.
When I first heard the name long legs I thought of two things , zz top and a woman in a red dress and wow was I wrong. This is a first class review of the movie and I will be seeing it soon. Your a true horror fan when you can admit when you haven't seen certain movies so I subscribed and keep the reviews coming. Peace ✌🏾💯💯💯👍🏾
@@griffin2327 I appreciate this so much!! Thank you for joining me on this journey ♥️
@@moviemija Thank you mija for making a movie channel that you clearly have a passion for and what makes your channel unique is the fact that you have a film 🎥 background and that's what makes your channel special. If you watch The Shining that would make up for not watching Silence of the Lambs because it's a classic for a classic. Thank you for showing how the Vista theatre looks on the inside and because of that I will go and see a movie there one day and I never knew that Quinton Taratino owns the theater. No ouija board on this journey..... DRE 💯💯💯🎥✌🏾
Silence of the Lambs was good but it never truly lived up to the hype by the time I got around to watching it. A bit like Apocalypse Now, the movie never lived up to the hype.
I have to come back to this after I watch the movie lol!
@@espookytales please do! ♥️
@3:40 fake movie fan? nah you're alright, not everyone has seen every movie that has been made in this century. so no worries. anyway, good review, youve been subbed.
appreciate the open mind - and the sub!🦋
The moment you said you don't know where you're gonna put the poster and if we have any suggestions my immediate reaction was well that white uncovered wall due left looks to be pretty vacant lofl
One word you use to describe Nickolas cages face in this film?
motherly
@@moviemijaohh noohhhh 😮
@@moviemijamotherly 😳😳😳
I can’t wait for this film highly anticipated
I'm so excited for you to get the heebies jeebies with this one
You should have a raffle for the poster.
I hope you do a reaction vlog to you watching Silence of the Lambs for the first time!
my favorite book connoisseur! anything for you!
First time watching your channel. You got an instant sub - respect to my fellow x-men girlies!
Much appreciated♥️♥️
May I have the poster ? I’ll pay for it 😅
Yes! I'll never rewatch hereditary again! Lol
I don't even need to watch it - lives rent free in my intrusive thoughts
Can I have the poster? 😂
I loved the movie.
I hope it isn’t like his “Black Coat’s Daughter”. In my opinion, that movie was just… not that good. And the blatant “hail Satan” stuff is not only not that scary just seems very weird and there just to say it. I don’t know. I’m still gonna see it because it looks exciting but his other movies (Also Gretel and Hansel) were just strange. I’m all about slow burners too. Hereditary was phenomenal. 🤷🏼♂️
If you love slow burns, I got good news for you.... I agree that some occult themes in movies feel slapped on. I'm interested to see what you think of LONGLEGS!
Agreed on Hereditary. I took my best friend to see it (she hates horror) and I had no idea it was about to go down like that. I couldn't apologize to her enough lol
Meh… The Blackcoat’s Daughter is an excellent film. And Hereditary was good. But it was not a slow burn.
Nice review. Love the poster. If you’re not gonna hang it( I do t blame you) you should at least hold on to it. Please go watch The Silence of the Lambs TODAY!
you’re not their target audience, but at least you gave it a try.
Make a video reaction as you view silence of the lambs .. 😁
not a bad idea👀
Lucky
Excellent review. Protect the poster. Frame it immediately. Dont let anything happen to it and dont let anyone talk you out of it. One love 👍🏾
Yet another GARBAGE movie --- not worth the ticket
I was just like all of you in believing all the review hype and watching all the "scary" cryptic trailers. Saw it last night, and once again felt bamboozled for paying good money and taking the time and effort to see a movie in the theater. This was a big steamy turd. Good cinematography, the only positive thing I have to say for Perkins on this. Poor construct, not scary, poor pacing, BAD dialogue, scenes/actions that made absolutely no practical sense. Nic Cage doing Nic Cage cringy acting but in "serial killer" form. It was bad, and then he (she?) started talking, even worse. This will be on a streaming service for $4.99 in no time. When the ACTUAL and HONEST reviews of people that truly saw this movie start flooding in you will see these audience review scores take a dive. Avoid at all costs. Hail Satan. Bang a Gong.
Truly a travesty that you have not seen Silence of the Lambs and still consider yourself a filmmaker and movie buff, you should rectify that asap lol. I imagine this means you haven’t seen any of the other entries in the Hannibal Lecter canon, so in a way, I’m actually kinda jealous that you get to experience them all for the first time. Before SOTL, there was a prequel called Manhunter which starred Brian Cox as Dr. “Lecktor” and William Petersen as Will Graham, roles which would be reprised in a later remake titled Red Dragon. Every cinematic instalment of Lector lore is worth a watch, with the weakest perhaps being the story of Lector’s youth and how he came to be, Hannibal Rising, but it’s still not terrible. The series with Mads Mikkelsen however, is rather excellent. Definitely start with Silence though. Enjoy your journey into the world of Hannibal Lecter!
Thank you for encouraging me to start my Hannibal journey! I do relish the fact that a first-time viewing of some *classics* are still in my future.
@@moviemija the series re-treads some of the same ground as the main trilogy, so there is a bit of overlap, albeit from a slightly different angle. Totally different vibe in the series compared to the trilogy, but both work somehow.
Only necessary watches are Hannibal(TV Show) Silence of the Lambs and Red Dragon imo
@@mannyandnataliarodriguez8744 you didn’t like Hannibal?? Gary Oldman as Mason Verger is worth the price of admission alone lol that and the Ray Liotta dinner scene 👨🏼🍳🧠 🥣
@@jasonkh4 it was ok.
@moviemija you are fine as hell, i was at the vista screening!
🐸🐸🐸The vista is such a cool theater!!
Turned off after you confessed you never saw Silence.
My complaint was critics say this is a horror masterpiece, I don’t think this is better than SoL or Se7en. I really wish they would of explained more of how he is able to do all this or what the orbs were?
@@bigbadslime1629 I think something can be considered a masterpiece while not usurping movies you think are better.
