Also, in the trailer the vendor tells Josh that they are there looking for the Butcher and describes that he’s a crazy guy chopping up all those people… the vendor tells Cooper (Josh) “don’t rat me out.” I’ll bet the vendor is who they are looking for, not Josh.
Giving the killer a name such as The Butcher hints that this film is in a known universe previously explored, such as “Unbreakable” with The Guardian, “Split” with The Horde, and “Glass” with Elijah Price, a.k.a Mr. Glass. With that in mind, I would like an adult, Cole Sear, to be the catalyst for the capture of The Butcher because his victims cried out to Cole for help.
I think the trailer is a misdirect and there are two concerts in the movie. In the first, his daughter is kidnapped/killed. i like that the singer is played by Saleka Shyamalan, who is an American R&B singer-songwriter. so the father-daughter aspect in the film and real life is kind of interesting.
This year is the year of the Shyamalan clan. Lady Raven is played by M. Night’s eldest daughter, Saleka, an R&B singer and songwriter. “Trap” marks her feature film acting debut. Yup! Judging by the clip that they just dropped showcasing one of the songs, I think there’s going to be a lot of concert footage of her. Guess M. Night wanted to showcase his daughter’s talent!
The super twist of the movie and a theory I have is that this is a secret sequel to Sixth Sense. Cole has grown up helping the police by talking to the dead victims of The Butcher aka Josh Hartnett 😮
The movie is based on the real Operation Flagship where multiple fugitives were sent an invitation to a Washington Redskins game and 100 of them were caught. The second twist is that invitations to the concert were sent to multiple serial killers. Josh Hartnet is a serial killer but not the Butcher. There will be more than one killer at the concert.
Imagine Josh Hartnett is looking for the Butcher also, wife maybe killed by him. But Hartnett is a red herring, and he is murdered before the middle of the film, ala Psycho or Hereditary. And now his daughter is in trouble. He has seat numbers (ticket stubs), photos, phone. She’s now a target.Who knows but it is fun to imagine what it could be.
I think regardless of any additional theories, it's very smart to use a twist as a hook to get people engaged and to build the foundation of the plot off of. Ishana's 'The Watchers' seems to be taking a similar approach as well (won't spoil here for those that haven't seen the trailer) in saying "Here's the thought experiment out in the open, now let's see where it goes'. The twists have always been fun in his past films, but I think he's started picking up on the fact that the twists have really just been interesting plot hooks, and that they don't need to surprise the audience to be effective. I'm absolutely sure that you're right and there's some type of script-flip at some point, but I think starting the entire film off on a flipped premise means that he doesn't have to completely hammer in the 'real' twist as long as the plot is engaging. That's probably a bit freeing for him, honestly.
Edit: you’ve mentioned my theory. I typed this before I watched it haha I could see him actually working for the FEDs himself. We think he’s the killer, but maybe he has visions…he’s clairvoyant. Maybe when he has his visions, he takes on the eyes of the killer. And when he talks/interacts with people it gives him clues to see if they are the killer etc. There’s a focus on his eyes a lot, and its made me think about that. It’s possible that’s his super power, even like other characters in M Night Shyamalans other films. Maybe he’s avenging victims, maybe his wife was a victim? Or maybe when he hears from the vendor that the Butcher is there, he goes and looks at the person on his surveillance because he had that person trapped thinking that was the Butcher. OR! He took the tickets of the Butcher (that he has tied up), now he realizes it’s gonna look like it’s him.
The trailer for Split revealed as much as this one, then had twists which weren’t imaginable from the trailer. I’m expecting something similar here. He’s got the guy chained up and we’re supposed to think he’s the butcher. Because it says “universe of” MKS, I suspect some connection to Glass.
I first thought was exactly this. I thought the guy tied in his basement is the butcher and he’s planning to get revenge on him for killing his wife. So your theory is probably spot on one way or the other.
Perhaps his wife is the butcher. He has a wedding ring and there's a person in the background when he grabs the knife, probably in frustration because its her, and he hates what she's doing; but loves her and continues to protect her. SHE was supposed to go to the concert with their daughter. His urgency is to protect that her identity is not revealed. Just a theory. Movie will be a fun ride in deciphering the twist.
The Twist is that there are twins in this movie. The name of the movie is Trap and Hayley Mills from the Parent Trap (about two twin girls) is in this movie. Guessing that Josh's character is actually twins in the movie and one of them is the Butcher. Other idea here is there is something about the daughter that we dont know about from the trailer.
Your theory sounds pretty good and I agree that Shyamalan can't help but put twists in his movies and if a twist is revealed in the first trailer then it can't be the final twist in the movie. I'm sure I'm wrong but I just thought of a different twist. What if his daughter is the Butcher and he is covering for her? Yeah, I know, it's not likely. My question is; how do they know that the Butcher is at this concert? One theory I heard online is that Cole from The Sixth Sense has grown up and is helping the police by talking to the ghosts of the Butcher's victims but he only got sketchy information about him because the victims are too traumatized to give much useful information. I suspect the real twist in the movie will be related to something that is not in the trailer at all so it will be almost impossible to guess the twist. Or the twist will be that there is no twist.
This looks great. I'm going to make a prediction and possibly spoil the whole thing. This movie is a takeoff of the In The Air Tonight urban legend. The pop star was a friend/family member to one of the victims, and is the only witness to Josh Hartness's killer. She will, in the climax of the film, sing a song related to the murder, point to him and call him out. Throughout the whole movie, she will be secretly searching through the crowd for his face. Edit: I was previously attached to that theory but now I’ve just stumbled across another unique clue. There’s a shot of an old lady standing outside the arena (near the end of the trailer) the editing, framing, appearance, everything about this one little moment has me hooked. I can’t forget about it. I realised from the beginning that the killer appears in the trailer it’s just a case of who is it? Or who are they? And Im thinking, out of all the shots that they picked for this trailer why put this one particular character in there…. What’s so special about a creepy old lady? Is she significant? The plot thickens….
Josh caught the serial killer before he could go to the concert- killer was after his daughter and he didn’t have enough time to deal with the killer before concert. Killer and daughter met online because of their shared interest in Lady Raven.
Saying that Josh Hartnett is the killer is ruining the twist is like saying that the kid revealing that he see's dead people in the Sixth Sense reveals the twist for that movie. They are both obviously the set up for their movies. However if Josh Hartnett is not the killer I'll call bullshit. There's no reason for him to make those sinister serial killer smirks and grins the way he does throughout the entire trailer if he's innocent. At that point to he thinks the audience is stupid.
I think the killer could actually be the daughter.. since the 'killer' goes after fans of Black Raven, shes one too. So nobody would expect her, and Josh is playing the protective dad trying to not get her caught.
Since when has there been an M. Night Shyamalan movie where a child was a villain or killer? His movies are basically stories for children for adults. Almost all are some adaptation of another story popularized to children as experienced in an adult world.
@@SDRube14 It’s not actually stated in the trailer at all if it’s adults or children that’s being murdered, the trap is being set at a teenage concert so it’s most likely that the killer is going after teenagers, fans of the artist. And i can have a theory, i’m not saying it’s gonna happen, damn didn’t know i wasn’t allowed to think about what’s going to happen in the movie by a director who’s known for his twists. he’s not gonna spoil the twist in the trailer bud.
The only plausible twist is the daughter is the killer. Josh is trying to protect his daughter. Why else would the police use a daytime concert aimed at teens to trap their prey.
Serial killer could be another young person who likes Lady Raven. Saw a theory that suggests two traps happening simultaneously for the same intention. The concert being the police's intention to trap the butcher, and Josh Harnett being a killer vigilante who already trapped the butcher in his basement.
I have 3 theories/plot twists (if anyone has already said this then I apologize to many comments to read to check) 1.) He is the killer but they don't know who he is but since those friendship bracelets stand out some maybe in the process of killing someone he left behind a #1dad bracelet as far as them knowing he is at the concert ..I saw somewhere suggesting that he took the tickets off of someone he killed who bought tickets to a show that night and the cops found a receipt or something 2.) He is the butcher but has a partner..one that nobody would expect such as the older woman detective..maybe she is his mother or mother in law.. he has a wedding ring I can only assume she isn't alive if people are chained by the washing machine. Along with that theory IF any eye witnesses can ID him she goes ahead and interviews them and then they turn up dead in the flashback scene where he slides the knife across the table you see a hand with a blue sleeve (if it was the hand of a victim... they would most likely be chained and you would see the chain ..the hand problably wouldn't be resting on the table ..in the end they arrest him but during his lock up someone else gets butchered and so it would appear they have the wrong person and have to release him and that's when we find out he actually is the butcher but then we find out that there is partner.. who i think would be the older lady detective that is possibly his mother ..i am thinking this because there must be some significance to this older woman detective also that ending the would leave it open for trap 2 3.) He is being framed by the real butcher.. who killed his wife because of a vendetta against Josh's character and he is sending the videos to Josh's character ...maybe people who Josh's character came into contact with maybe the guy in the video sold him the tickets to the concert and possibly whoever reported the guy missing said that he was meeting someone to sell his last 2 tickets to the show that was possibly 1 night ..there are a few things that throw me off about this theory ..the home security video..he had to sign in to see that BUT the butcher could have hacked his system If he isn't being framed and he isn't the butcher...why would the real butcher be there ..to kill the singer ?? Probably not but either way it seems too easy to give away the serial killer's identity before the movie even premieres unless all of the things that take place after are so much more thrilling that it makes no difference that the identity is known from the very beginning of watching the movie specially since the start of the trailer he was ronvincing as a fun dad type then he played creepy well too...this looks like it's going to be a really good movie ..before the bathroom scene i was originally when they said the butcher was there that he was guna go back to his seat and his daughter was going to be gone and it was going to be a big race to find his daughter. I'm sure that's a plot that's been done a million times b4 ..either way this looks like it will be a good movie!
Wow, you got Hartnett all wrong. In our house we are massive Hartnett fans and have followed him since The Faculty, 3 generations! When he was a kid, Hollywood scooped him up and created a hunky persona for him he didn’t want. He loved acting but hated the manipulation the studios were doing. And he was chased by paparazzi from outside his door to everywhere he wanted to go. He was only 22 when he said, Hollywood is not for me. So after fulfilling his contract, he stepped away and returned to independent films he loved at the start of his career. He has a terrific canon of independent filmography for over 20+ years. He’s very wealthy, lives with his wife and 4 kids in rural England and is much admired by famous and yet to be directors and other actors. While he’ll come out for roles with Logan, Nolan, Ritchie, and Charlie Booker of late, being out of the limelight is his comfort zone. He says living the good life of a family man has always been the way he’s wanted to live his life. So he does. Btw, Hartnett was awarded a SAG ensemble statue along with Downey and 5 others in the cast for Oppenheimer. He wasn’t overlooked. In that gargantuan cast of great performances, he’s listed in top 7.
??? I think I was replying to the “fell out of favor “ thing. There’s such a lot of misinformation about the guy’s walking away from Hollywood, negative stuff. I’m trying to clarify. Rumors have him being blacklisted, hard up for gigs, that sort of stuff. I didn’t say you were “wrong”! Also replied to someone else here who presumed Trap was part of a big comeback for him. 20+ years ago, I was active in a fan club fending off all the dirt hitting him. I’m now the 1st in 3 generations of my family who are huge fans! The Faculty 1998-2005, Penny Dreadful 20014-2016, and now Black Mirror etc. 😊 We are big into indie and art house films so have quite a collection of his multi-genre performances. His filmography is amazing. And you and I are also alike in applauding the recognition he’s getting from the mainstream industry. There are interviews with Indie directors crushing on him and interviews with the big guys like Nolan, Ritchie, and Logan who praise his performances in roles they picked him for. In sum, I just hoped to shed a bit more light on the successful career he has and so many people don’t seem to know about. No worries. 👍
The twist is, since in the trailer is reads “in the world of…” will take a cue from Split. The way the FBI finds out about the killer being at the venue is because Haley Joel Osmet will be revealed that he was working with the FBI and spoke to the ghost of one of the butchers victims. He’ll pop up in the film and ID the butcher.
I figured out the twist when they started showing police/law enforcement and when Josh Hartnett was talking to the merchandise table seller. I am quite shocked that everyone is making such a big deal about the twist. Are people suffering from amnesia or something? It seemed very predictable. I feel those that have seen Shutter Island or watched the trailers to Shutter Island should've seen the twist coming. With Shutter Island, everyone guessed the twist correctly that Leo was the missing patient and Leo was looking for himself. I remember back in the day there was a lot of "Leo is probably the missing patient" comments. So I feel it should be Shutter Island all over again. The only difference with Shutter Island is they saved the twist for the actual movie and didn't reveal it until the last 20-25 minutes. Trap though is revealing stuff in the trailer, and by the looks of it, early on in the movie. But I also do think there is more to the movie and there is bigger twists being saved. I like the theories that were mentioned in the video. They were close to some of the possibilities I had. Another theory I have is that Josh Hartnett became "The Butcher" to get revenge because everyone he has taken out so far had something to do with harming someone close to him. Maybe his wife. The person in his basement could be the last person involved, but Josh Hartnett is making them suffer before he finally finishes them off. Or maybe he didn't have enough time before taking his daughter to the concert and things will have to wait until he gets back. Him checking his phone is to make sure the final person didn't find a way to get free and escape the basement. Also, not every Shyamalan movie has a twist. For example, I don't think Signs really had a twist. I don't think the whole thing of the aliens' biggest weakness is water is some kind of twist. And the way I remember the marketing for Signs, the bigger question was if it was actually aliens or some hoax created by people. I just remember going into Signs wondering if it was actually aliens or people doing stuff to Mel Gibson and his family. But I was in 7th or 8th grade (13 or 14 years old) when Signs released, so I wasn't exactly comprehending the marketing for Signs. And I think I only saw the Signs trailer once. But I just remember watching Signs differently and going into it with a different question. But it seems everyone else went into the movie wanting to know how the aliens would be defeated and stuff. With that, I felt everyone set themselves up for disappointment when it was revealed that water was their weakness. But that whole thing never bothered me because I wanted to know if it was aliens or a hoax. So with how I watched Signs, if there was any twist, it was more that there was actually aliens and it wasn't a hoax. But even then I wouldn't consider that a twist since I think aliens were slightly teased in the marketing. But with that, maybe Trap doesn't really have a twist to it.
I like your theory. Maybe he is the butcher, and being out in public, in areas swarming with police, but still not getting caught is what gives him the high that these kinds of psychos get off on.
Josh Hartnett's character is actually David Dunn's son and the butcher is forcing him to do something he doesn’t want because he's held his wife hostage.
To many people thinking that it’s the six sense, keep in mind that Disney owns the rights to Six Sense and they already gave the rights to Universal and they are not going to give it to Warner Bros
Obviously the twist is that the daughter is the Butcher. Josh Hartnett has been hunting for his wife's murderer, when all along the woman was killed by her own child. 😂😂😂😂😂😅😅
Could another theory be that his wife is involved in it? Maybe even being the butcher herself, it would explain why he is at the concert and not her.. although i do like your theory too! Overall, I can’t wait to see this movie!
I've seen so many comments saying it's the daughter .... like if it was her I don't think the dad would be leaving her alone and plus wouldn't she be looking around for the cops ? The movie going to be good because it's so simple and everyone is guessing hard 🤣🤣🤣
Yes correct but you can see I. The background of the trailer of when he was grabbing the knife there is a detective standing behind him which means that they are going to find him but find out that he is not the one they are looking for so they will use him to find the real butcher.
Thanks Barry 👍 Really interesting theories on your part? Could be very possible. Also: Lady Raven is played by one of M. Night's daughters, so anything is possible 🤯
Josh is gonna be like Dexter in the TV series. He is a “serial killer hunter/killer” he makes it look like he is the “Butcher “ to antagonize the real Butcher to come to the concert. Maybe the real Butcher killed the mom and Josh is on the hunt.
Hey. I'm new here, just subscribed. I really like that angle as the possible 'real' twist...My first thought for the ultimate twist was that the daughter is also psycho & complicit, perhaps even the mastermind.
Or the twist can be that Josh is delisional and actually is fascinated with serial killers...like American Psycho...but actually the butcher is not even shown in the trailer...the guy on the chair was from a news report ...the butchers atrocities are only seen in his mind...thats the twist...and the trap
I've Only seen a 30 second trailer on Tik Tok and didn't know the twist till someone mentioned it on twitter ... However I think there are further twists not revealed ..
The twist is the butcher killed his wife, so he went after him, thinks he’s caught the butcher, the guy you see tied up on his phone, probably took his daughter to the concert to celebrate, once he gets the info that the butcher is supposed to be at the concert tonight he knows now he got the wrong guy and the real butcher is somewhere in the concert now, the trailer is trying to make us all believe that Hartnett is the butcher but he’s not
The butcher could be a group of ppl and josh is being tested for membership. So the police get a tip and see if josh could getaway. Proving his alliance to that group.
I think the daughter might be a hallucination as nobody interacts with or acknowledges her in the trailer. My theory is that Hartnett's wife and daughter were murdered by the butcher and he is desperate to brutally avenge their deaths before the police close in and simply arrest the butcher. For some reason Hartnett also knows the butcher will be at this particular concert and so he sets out to kill him himself for revenge. Hartnett is unable to cope with his daughter being murdered, so he hallucinates her as being there happy with him at the concert, which stops him having a total mental breakdown. The guy in the basement could be just a red herring... maybe a neighbour that arrived at the crime scene shortly after his wife and daughter were murdered, leaving Hartnett no choice but to subdue them and tie them up. It could even end with Hartnett killing the butcher, thereby extracting revenge, and then being arrested himself.
@@WolfmansGotNards Isnt there a clip though of someone saying your daughter will never forget this or some such? I mean that looked like he was in same outfit at concert when they have the actress say that.
I like that I also have been spinning my wheels on what the twist could be. I think The Butcher is 2ppl and his partner is trying to set him up so he will get cops off him and get his partner killed tying up lose ends and that is how cops know The butcher will be at concert. As a setup. Or they are competing serial killers who don’t know who each other are only a score card on the dark web. And the main character has killed more or made the real butcher jealous. And he must know who the other killer is and from there sets him up and the main character knows not who the other butcher is. That is 2 good twists as well as yours.
Great video and theory's. But I can't help thinking that no one is talking about how the police know the bmButcher is gonna be at the concert. Who told them only one of two things, the Butcher told them their self, or someone who definitely knows the Butcher's identity. How does that person know the Butcher is gonna be there is (I think) the question. Much love. Regards Carl
@WolfmansGotNards I think I'm leaning more towards he wants them there, not sure he is the Butcher though. It's just too obviously in your face he's show as. And if he is someone knows he is. We don't know how long the Butcher has been active, but if he killed the mother the daughter seems to have come to terms with it now. Anyway I'm waffling, definitely looking forward to this one and yes let's hope its return to form 👍👊
I wonder if they know what the butcher looks like? Probably not. So setting all the cameras up would mean they want to capture an abduction in progress rather than just capture the guy on facial recognition. They would need lots and lots of eyes watching the video feeds as they happen if they want to catch the guy in time.
Around the 4:15 mark - you see the daughter run - but she's coming from somewhere else, not from the car - and Josh's character comes from the car. Why would the daughter not come out of the car?
@@WolfmansGotNards - I think I know what happened. When I saw your segment about it, I think your edit clipped it to make the daughter look like she was running from a different direction, but when I saw the trailer, it looks like she did come from the other side of the car.
His last two movies (knock at the cabin and old) were not written by him so they weren't his stories. Knock at the cabin was a book and old was based on a graphic novel.
Maybe lady raven is a real singer with in the movie and the guy locked up on the phone is the brother of the singer. Josh wanted to get tickets for his daughter so he threatened the brother. Or. Josh was sent a secutiry name and password and the guy locked up is his police partner.
everyone is really looking for some twist, and what if there isn't one? what if it's just a movie from the perspective of a serial killer, and the director puts us in a moral dilemma of rooting for an unspeakably cruel murderer??
Josh is a red herring. the murders will turn out to have happened where this singers concerts were. she's the killer. Shyamaln made a movie based on the rumors of Garth Brooks being a serial killer. comedian Tom Segura jokingly started a rumor based on real unsolved murders that took place near where Garth was touring. started as a joke, but Brooks and his people failed to see the humor.
The Shyamalan twist is Josh is a serial killer, but he’s not the one the police are looking for.
Ooh that’s a good twist
It's not a twist. It's all over the trailer.
That makes sense to me
Oh that's possible! But yeah it seems almost obvious knowing M night that Josh is not the Butcher lol!
Also, in the trailer the vendor tells Josh that they are there looking for the Butcher and describes that he’s a crazy guy chopping up all those people… the vendor tells Cooper (Josh) “don’t rat me out.” I’ll bet the vendor is who they are looking for, not Josh.

Yes! That episode, Beyond the Sea, won an award. Three stellar performances and a kickass story. Whoo!
The only reason I'm watching this film is Josh Hartnet. 😅
Not a bad reason.
I did assume there would be a second twist. yours sounds pretty good.
The daughter is dead. Taken at a concert the year before. Now he kills child traffickers, child killers, abductors. Etc…

I could see him actually working for the FEDs himself.

Lady Raven is the killer. Victims in all the tour cities and the songs tell a story.
Lady Raven is M Knights daughter
She certainly seems suspicious. She was put there for us to question ourselves haha.
That’s Hayley Mills. Definitely a significant character! The trailer is so intriguing!
Josh caught the serial killer before he could go to the concert- killer was after his daughter and he didn’t have enough time to deal with the killer before concert. Killer and daughter met online because of their shared interest in Lady Raven.
My prediction:
Both the dad and his daughter are the butcher.
Or the daughter is the killer, but the dad is helping hide it to protect his daughter.
This was my thought; Dad is the butcher, by the daughter is in on it. They’re a team. The family that slays together, stays together.
plot twist is that the music is what kills sort of like the happening
That’s actually a really good theory
Thank you very much!
Well it's possible that when you see the movie in theaters there will be changes in acting and editing.
@@cjmiller6741 There hasnt been, but it dont mean that it cant? Just because you think you know how he does his movies don't mean its right lmao
How the f is a 12 year old girl gonna be a serial murderer of adult humans?
@@SDRube14 It’s not actually stated in the trailer at all if it’s adults or children that’s being murdered, the trap is being set at a teenage concert so it’s most likely that the killer is going after teenagers, fans of the artist. And i can have a theory, i’m not saying it’s gonna happen, damn didn’t know i wasn’t allowed to think about what’s going to happen in the movie by a director who’s known for his twists. he’s not gonna spoil the twist in the trailer bud.
@@Harlsy I guess we'll just wait and see. But always, M favors children in his movies, with them always being "the good guys."
I have 3 theories/plot twists (if anyone has already said this then I apologize to many comments to read to check)
1.) He is the killer but they don't know who he is but since those friendship bracelets stand out some maybe in the process of killing someone he left behind a #1dad bracelet as far as them knowing he is at the concert ..I saw somewhere suggesting that he took the tickets off of someone he killed who bought tickets to a show that night and the cops found a receipt or something
2.) He is the butcher but has a partner..one that nobody would expect such as the older woman detective..maybe she is his mother or mother in law.. he has a wedding ring I can only assume she isn't alive if people are chained by the washing machine. Along with that theory IF any eye witnesses can ID him she goes ahead and interviews them and then they turn up dead in the flashback scene where he slides the knife across the table you see a hand with a blue sleeve (if it was the hand of a victim... they would most likely be chained and you would see the chain ..the hand problably wouldn't be resting on the table ..in the end they arrest him but during his lock up someone else gets butchered and so it would appear they have the wrong person and have to release him and that's when we find out he actually is the butcher but then we find out that there is partner.. who i think would be the older lady detective that is possibly his mother ..i am thinking this because there must be some significance to this older woman detective also that ending the would leave it open for trap 2
3.) He is being framed by the real butcher.. who killed his wife because of a vendetta against Josh's character and he is sending the videos to Josh's character ...maybe people who Josh's character came into contact with maybe the guy in the video sold him the tickets to the concert and possibly whoever reported the guy missing said that he was meeting someone to sell his last 2 tickets to the show that was possibly 1 night ..there are a few things that throw me off about this theory ..the home security video..he had to sign in to see that BUT the butcher could have hacked his system
If he isn't being framed and he isn't the butcher...why would the real butcher be there ..to kill the singer ??
Wolfman's Got Nards, This made me laugh so much! Thanks for sharing!
Wrong video?
This is nothing more than a highly stylized version of Operation Flagship. Look it up. It was a really clever ruse to capture criminals. 😮
i like your take on this trailer it could of course could go many ways and the element of surprise is very cool we'll see btw love your accent :)
Pretty sure I said almost identical to what you just said about Hartnett. So if I'm wrong, so are you?
In sum, I just hoped to shed a bit more light
on the successful career he has and so many people don’t seem to know about. No worries. 👍
@@mgariepy42 he's always been active. He just fell out of love with Hollywood.
I like it!! Good theory’s wolfman! Im looking forward to seeing this for sure!
Doubt he would put that in a trailer to give up a twist, it more then likely means part of his directing world.
I think the twist in Signs was there actually was aliens. I think we were thinking it was a hoax until the reveal
I like your theory. Maybe he is the butcher, and being out in public, in areas swarming with police, but still not getting caught is what gives him the high that these kinds of psychos get off on.
Josh hartnett is already on my good side from "Beyond the sea" from black mirror season 6 #fingerscrossed
Josh Hartnett's character is actually David Dunn's son and the butcher is forcing him to do something he doesn’t want because he's held his wife hostage.
Wolfman's Got Nards, Subscribed because your videos are always awesome!
Thank you very much. That's very kind of you to say!
It's possible. Maybe he's trying to lure her out.
I think one twist is Cole from The Sixth Sense shows up helping the FBI. Just my two cents
The person in the basement is an alien human hybrid from The Sixth Sense.
Night needs to create an alter ego who doesn't rely on twists... that'd be a great twist 😅
What if its a further sequel to Unbreakable , the butcher could possibly be another super villain with Lady Raven being a Super Hero.
He has the butcher in his basement. He is a Dexter type serial killer.
The background of the trailer of when he was grabbing the knife there is a detective standing behind him which means that they are going to find him but find out that he is not the one they are looking for so they will use him to find the real butcher.
the butcher is his daughter. it was her phone. He is protecting his daughter
Thanks Barry 👍
Really interesting theories on your part? Could be very possible.
Also: Lady Raven is played by one of M. Night's daughters, so anything is possible 🤯
The twist will be that he has multiple personalities and one of them is trying to turn him in.
Josh is gonna be like Dexter in the TV series. He is a “serial killer hunter/killer” he makes it look like he is the “Butcher “ to antagonize the real Butcher to come to the concert. Maybe the real Butcher killed the mom and Josh is on the hunt.
Maybe the twist will be that there is no twist….
The singer is M. Knight's real daughter
Further than my suggestions or just further than the trailer?
@@WolfmansGotNards Further than both. One I heard is that the daughter is the killer!!
The question i have to that is, if that's the killer in his basement, why would the police have surmised the killer would be at the concert?
Possibly he's taking the role of of killer in the basement in order to gain some information. Possibly that his wife is still alive?
maybe the Josh Hartnet chracter is Cole from the Sixth Sense
His daughter is The Butcher. He is just a loving father.
That's where I'm leaning
I saw this theory on X but I think the twist is that his daughter is a vampire
That's why he doesn't like garlic
The twist is the butcher killed his wife, so he went after him, thinks he’s caught the butcher, the guy you see tied up on his phone, probably took his daughter to the concert to celebrate, once he gets the info that the butcher is supposed to be at the concert tonight he knows now he got the wrong guy and the real butcher is somewhere in the concert now, the trailer is trying to make us all believe that Hartnett is the butcher but he’s not
I think the daughter is the victim, he is at the concert alone , she is an hallucination,,the guy in the basement is the butcher's dad/brother/son
This is hands down the best theory yet. I love the idea of his daughter not being there.
@@WolfmansGotNards Isnt there a clip though of someone saying your daughter will never forget this or some such? I mean that looked like he was in same outfit at concert when they have the actress say that.
I think he can swap Bodies and it's in splits, unbreakable universe
I hope not lol
God, I hope not. Let's let sleeping dogs lie.
What if the butcher is actually Lady Raven at her own concert? Or possibly the daughter perhaps?
I like that I also have been spinning my wheels on what the twist could be. I think The Butcher is 2ppl and his partner is trying to set him up so he will get cops off him and get his partner killed tying up lose ends and that is how cops know The butcher will be at concert. As a setup. Or they are competing serial killers who don’t know who each other are only a score card on the dark web. And the main character has killed more or made the real butcher jealous. And he must know who the other killer is and from there sets him up and the main character knows not who the other butcher is.
That is 2 good twists as well as yours.
Not sure how this is going to pan out, unless it's got a Dexter kind of vibe, where he only kills bad guys.
The plot twist is the way he says josh hartnet
How does he say Josh Hartnet(t)? He wouldn't say his own real name in the movie.
Tracking a device maybe? Maybe Hartnett wants the police at the concert for a reason.
No, sorry I think I'm wrong again if he wants them there he wouldn't be asking why are they there, just raises suspicion.
It looks to me she just came from the other side of the car. But you never know.
@@WolfmansGotNards - I think I know what happened. When I saw your segment about it, I think your edit clipped it to make the daughter look like she was running from a different direction, but when I saw the trailer, it looks like she did come from the other side of the car.
Accidental misdirection on my part. lol
Part of me wonders if there WILL be a twist. Didn’t M. Night skip the twist ending in his last couple movies?
His last two movies (knock at the cabin and old) were not written by him so they weren't his stories. Knock at the cabin was a book and old was based on a graphic novel.
Maybe lady raven is a real singer with in the movie and the guy locked up on the phone is the brother of the singer. Josh wanted to get tickets for his daughter so he threatened the brother. Or. Josh was sent a secutiry name and password and the guy locked up is his police partner.
What if Lady Raven is the Butcher?
Shyamalan is a punchline now. I have no faith in his ability to make a passable film, twist or not.
Could you please post your IMDB page? I'd like to read all the films you've made. Thank you

I’m really excited about this movie. Looks amazing.
Josh is back, yes. I want to see this movie. I have the date on my calendar. Also, I wonder if he's the murderer too. We'll see.
The twist is the daughter is the butcher
There's more than 1 serial killer. It's probably his daughter. Or some minor character that pops up in the beginning.
They are all waiting in line to enter hell
That would be trippy!
I heard a theory that this could also be a sequel to The sixth Sense
The real plot twist is that Lady Raven is the director's daughter.
I dunno, man. I expected that to happen.
Big twist: audience was lured to The Trap because the audience is destined to become victims.
The twist is there's no twist
I think the Butcher is someone different and he is just another killer that is afraid of being caught.😂😂😂😊
The scene where Josh has an earpiece might indicate that he ether stole it or he is actually FBI.
He's walking with officials in the background I believe. We see it in 2 scenes.
everyone is really looking for some twist, and what if there isn't one? what if it's just a movie from the perspective of a serial killer, and the director puts us in a moral dilemma of rooting for an unspeakably cruel murderer??
That's a twist in itself.
The daughter is the butcher???🤯🤯🤯
Why would The Butcher go to a concert....unless he's going with his daughter!! Josh is the Butcher! Perhaps the daughter set him up!
I think he’s not watching a live feed.
The killer is probably the daughter and the father is trying to conceal her identity and knows about what his kid does. Not a big twist imo.
Josh is a red herring. the murders will turn out to have happened where this singers concerts were.
she's the killer. Shyamaln made a movie based on the rumors of Garth Brooks being a serial killer.
comedian Tom Segura jokingly started a rumor based on real unsolved murders that took place
near where Garth was touring. started as a joke, but Brooks and his people failed to see the humor.
