We show you how to season both a metal and plastic gold pans

Top tip and reason-
After seasoning your metal gold pan do not quench the pan like other metals (knifes axes etc) in oil or water.!! We do not want to change the structure in the metal to sharply and or possibly warping the metal. By harmonising the gold pan (letting it cool naturally it allows for a softer and smaller grain in the metal assisting for the drag and resistance when panning off or back panning the black sands helping to retain the the gold.............

Loved that video guys, I posted a pic on the gold panning page and a few comments I got was to scratch up my pan as its still new. This wee tutorial will help me loads, thanks again guys

long day of filming & editing followed by a corrupt memory card meant backup footage had to be used but we hope it turned out ok.

Pork belly bacon fat! Metal pan grease with bacon drippings. Burn off with a fire. After a cure put a little bacon grease on the crease of the bottom of the pan. It acts as a trap for fine gold. Old school tips
Everything was multipurpose. Cook pan ,gold pan, shovel pan!
Probably not to well seasoned.
