The big issue is that you can't duel with them. Don't get me wrong, it's really cool, but sparring with friends is the #1 thing you do with a lightsaber
@@twistsaber have you attempt to thicken the walls of the blade? it might cut down on the size of the blade which is unfortunate however they would still probably be longer then the Hasbro example

Benefit to twistsabres; extendable blades from the hilt. Benefit to Hasbro toys from like 10 years ago; Lights, sounds, clash sensors, strong construction, duleable...
this is amazing so one question can you make an obi-wan kenobi lightsaber and I if so how much for 2 lightsabers with one green and one with a yellow if you can that would be great if not that is ok to thank you for your time and have a great day
Can't remember what I used to have bit it was absolutely fucking green. But the 4x4s were the best of all. 4 types, 4 colors. Then there be the maul Saber. Only have a green anakin now. Hope to collect the rest some day.
Good question. When blade is in the collapsed position, there is screw that comes right to the inside corner. I could not round it without increasing the height of that one segment, and doing that, would have an negative impact on my collapsed to extended length ratio.

Are you saying I don't have any friends? :)

@@katiedanner1 No, my goal was to make it as thin as possible
How sturdy is the blade?
Sturdy enough to swing around, but not sturdy enough to duel with
Have you looked into other materials like injection molding? @@twistsaber

Unlikely, but untested
@@takira2492 From my understanding it's 3D printed, so if it's anything like my 3d prints it will shatter into multiple pieces the second you drop it.
How about a comparison with Goliath sabers? They also have a retractable saber, and it was originally going to be a Hasbro release...

Any way of integrating electronics into it in the future?
There is an advantage to not having electronics. No batteries required.

it's awesome, but honestly it's very expensive, I understand why, but it's overpriced

can you make one out of metal '
I think I could do an anodized aluminum blade and look sweet. But it would be very expensive to prototype, so I call that a later project.
Why is the tip so square and not rounded

Making a cross-section video is on my list. But probably not before the Kickstarter wraps up.
@@twistsaber ohhh okay I gotcha. Great work man
Cool
I'm going with Hasbro
Why?
Seconded, why? This is way cooler. And the blade actually goes all the way down.
It is cool but you can't duel with the Twistsaber
Cool
