I just do planning sauerkraut from a jar and sausage. But I like the simplicity of this recipe. There's just three or four main ingredients plus seasonings so you can't go wrong.
Thanks for the video...I make my differently...I use fresh cabbage and pickled cabbage along with polish sausage, mushrooms, onion, jowl bacon cut up in bite size pieces...it's an old recipe from my great great grandmother...looks delicious and I'm sure it taste delicious...hope you and Joe are doing well and stay safe.
We had to work in tobacco setting plants. I wanted something ready for dinner, crockpot died. We love Haluski & Pierogis. I took a head of cabbage diced it long ways put on my huge skillet. Sliced up an onion, sliced a few potatoes like you would scallop them, then sliced up a whole Kielbasa. I sprinkled black pepper over all, added a stick of Blue Bonnet butter. Put lid on. Baked 325°. We set the whole field so dinner was ready when we got home it was delicious. I'd say 5 hours it baked. There was no way I would have been able to cook after working in tobacco. I like to try your version when I have more family in. I like your plant. I've never seen a prayer plant 'til now. Thank you for sharing.
this is still my favorite. i make it every weekend that my wife goes out of town to visit her family. there is a reason i can only eat it when she is gone for the night. just an awesome dish
My husband always makes a face when he walks in and smells cabbage. He won’t touch the stuff, but my son likes it and I love it, especially with sausage! Yum!
For some reason I’m thinking l’d like one of those boiled red potatoes cut into fours and smothered in butter and salt and pepper on the side. You guys always make your potatoes look so tempting. Love your combination of spices. Thanks so much for this healthy dinner.
Everything you make looks so good!!! I want to make this. Love your sense of humor, and all your plants look so healthy. As the Rooster Crows is a success!
I regularly make that with sauerkraut, but have made it like that cooking down the cabbage, I add butter however giving it a buttery flavor. Looks real tasty! Thanks for sharing!
I make that but always preferred using 2 granny smith apples cored n sliced. 2 sweet onions and instead of water I use apple cider. Been doing that way for my entire life.
Awesome looking recipe! I’ll have to try and make that for my wife and daughter some time! Keep up the great videos and stay healthy! We all look forward to more videos in the future! I like most others can’t wait until a new video comes out about the tent, the farmhouse or the rooster! Take care!

Your prayer plant is gorgeous! That sausage and cabbage looks good too. My German grandmother cooked cabbage all the time, so much so none of us will eat it now 🤣
We had something very similar last night. We put in some carrots and potatoes with the cabbage then put ham steaks on top. I will try yours in the near future. It will be a good comfort food with the cold weather we are going to get. Take care Mr. Taster and Melissa.
What a great way to saute the Sausage and Cabbage! I hope that Joe can make it up to the 'Tent' for the Fishing Opener! Melissa, you've done it again... I hope we get to try your Cookbook!! Semper Fidelis
