If you walk into a stranger's house it is natural selection at that point.
I work as a DoorDash driver and a old women told me she couldn't use stairs, so I needed come in and give her the food. The only street light was down the street and no lights were on the outside of the house. I was really scared as I slowly peaked my head in and looked around to see a tiny women with a walker at the top of the steps. So I went in and gave it to her, not my smartest decision but she was a nice lady.

You’d be surprised how frequently people expect you to come into their house where I deliver. I do DoorDash Ubereats and Grubhub and I’d say about 50 percent of people expect you to bring the food directly to them in their house.

Lol I did like 3 postmates deliveries in July for $14 my postmates card declined at raising cane's haven't done anything but doordash since then
@@michaelsuzio4364 that just means the card doesn’t have funds on it. You can go into settings while on a run and request to put more funds on the card and it should work fine after that. None of it is your money, it’s their money

I once had an UberEats delivery driver who just straight-up walked inside my house as soon as I opened the door. It was a woman but as soon as she walked in she wouldn't hand me the food yet even though I was reaching out for it. She stood in the middle of the living room looking around and complimented how it looked and I thanked her while I once again reached out for my food. She gave me everything but my drink, which she carried over to the dining room and peeked into the kitchen. She left after that and idk if she was just nosey as hell or planning to come back and rob me blind but I never saw her again and I was too scared to order from there again lol.

Never deliver food to a campsite or park or whatever. I used to work at a Pizza Hut and I live somewhat rural and our delivery span wasn’t that big so a lot of people would ask if they could meet the driver halfway in the middle of nowhere or by cornfields or a camping site. We always said no for our drivers safety.

I’m a full time postmates driver and I’m mind boggled. I usually deliver anywhere between 4pm to 4am and I’ve had some weird experiences but I would never enter anyone’s home and videos like these are clearly why.

1. As a DD driver myself, never go into someone's place. You accepted the order, which meant the money was already enough, don't ever go inside for cash.
2. The story ends but we don't find out what the guy was doing in the basement? Was he ready with a weapon or something?

The "why aren't you alone?" bit reminded me of something that happened to me back when I was in highschool. I was walking home from the bus stop coming home from school one evening. I was listening to music on my CD player. I saw two girls behind me, but I didn't think anything of it. I didn't think anything of it even when I continued to see them when looking behind me from time to time, even as I was approaching my apartment block. I was going up the stairs and they were still behind me. I opened the entrance door to the block and saw that they wanted to come in after me. I asked them where they were going, and they said they wanted to visit Alexandra on the 4th floor. Ok... They walk in after me into the block hallway and they stop, saying "this block has no elevator?" In my city, 8 and 10 floor blocks have elevators, but 4 floor blocks like mine was do not. When I heard the question about the elevator, something finally clicked. I turned around and dashed to the corner shop, where I waited for a while before going back to the apartment block. When I told my parents, my mom said that there really was an Alexandra living in our block, but on the 3rd floor.

If the app says you’ve reached the address, put the food down at that address and leave. If the customer contacts you saying “oh sorry, I gave the wrong address can you come here instead?” The answer is always NO! Come find your food at the address you gave in the app.

I did doordash back in 2018, usually 6pm-midnight after my classes a couple times a week. Figured that crowd would tip well and not many drivers would deliver that late.
I had to start carrying a knife in my driver door, because MULTIPLE TIMES I'd show up to an address late at night, and look up from my phone to see a man/woman walking straight up to my car window for their order before I even sent them a "here" text. Because I didn't have A/C I usually left my window all the way down. Luckily I never had anyone try anything funny, but it's best to be safe

Here's a story of mine that happened today:
I had just ordered doordash and had asked them to just leave it on my front porch, since I couldn't meet him out front to get it from him since I was putting my niece and nephew down for a nap.
I had just gotten to the front door as he was walking away, and my cat, who was outside, went up to him and meowed. The guy was like, "Awww! Hi kitty!" Before my cat went to him for a quick pet.
She's never done that to a stranger before, and he was gushing over how cute she was, so it was honestly super adorable.

I have over 2000 doordashes that I've done as of the other day. Here's my advice you have an option to just take a picture of the bag by the door. It takes one second literally, even if their instructions are to hand it to them, I always just said it by the door take the picture and go, and again I've had nearly half of them on the instructions part tell me the customer wants me to hand it to them and I never have. And with almost 2,000 dashes it's still never been an issue with doordash nor have I been called by the customer like why didn't you hand it to me? Safety first fuck all this noise
