Worst nightmare is my landlord coming into my apartment when I’m not home without permission. I live in Canada so our laws require landlords and ladies to tell tenants 24 hours in advance if they plan on entering the place we’re renting

Stories 1-3 consisted of people coming across creeps and/or psychos. I just feel bad for Betty in that last story though. If they actually had Sundowning Syndrome, they wouldn't have been in control of their actions.
It is terrifying, knowing that the people who are truly creepy or psychotic would most likely appear normal to a person who doesn't know them. You may walk past a deranged murderer who hasn't been caught yet just on your daily routine. They might even appear friendly offering to help you carry something heavy to your car.
Still terrifying tho. However I agree at least Betty wasn’t a bad person herself like the people in the other ones. In her case it’s literally a mental illness

For part of my first college semester in '79 I had a roommate who was the most snobbish and most sadistic person I've ever met. He enjoyed telling about cruel pranks he had done to people and then started doing them to me. When one of his home town friends was coming to visit, my roommate said he thought it would be fun to drug his friend and tie him naked to a street light. This is what my roommate thought would be fun to do to a friend. I wonder how many friends he's been through. Computers were just coming into use at that time but if my roommate had had access to the technology I have no doubt he would have used it against me and/or someone else. I've said through the years that if I saw on the news that my roommate had been killing people I wouldn't be surprised. John Gacy had contempt and disdain for his victims and I can imagine my former rooommate killing people he looked down upon.
Imagine sleepwalking, chopping carrots for a lovely dinner, and trying to wake your roommate up to eat but he gets you evicted because he got the wrong idea.

Maybe Betty was just a crazy sleepwalker! When I was younger I used to sleep walk almost every night, and I would make weird random noises and knock on doors as well (although I’ve admittedly never brandished a knife at anybody before either)
In my dreams, I was usually always doing something random and mundane like climbing a tree or talking with my friends, but in reality I’d be opening and closing the same cupboard and muttering to myself lmao
Sleep walking can look very creepy, and you obviously don’t remember doing any of the things you do in that state, so I wouldn’t doubt that that was the situation with the lady. Makes me sad that she was evicted if I’m right, though I suppose it’s better safe than sorry (even if installing locks on the doors probably would’ve worked just as well… I mean, even if she wasn’t sleep walking, she’s still an old lady, and wouldn’t have the strength to break down a door or overpower a full grown man.)

It might be a regional thing but I have never once heard of a landlord putting an ad out for a room in an apartment that already has an occupant. Normally the tenant would be the one putting out the ad, because who wants someone to decide a random person is going to live with you? No one, obviously
The way Americans say roommate when they're only sharing a house & have separate bedrooms is so interesting to me, as an Australian.

I did the whole roommate thing for a few years, got to be careful. I dealt with dopeheads, hookers, mentally unstable females, thieves, bugs and cats

I straight up accused my new roommate of theft because, I don't know why, but my stuff seemed _"Lighter or something...."_ I don't know why he didn't want to come hang out with me when I asked.
Also I think it's clear that HE was the weird roommate, though I'm the one who saw his computer and I just HAD to go through it and look at all of his shit. Glad my new roommate is normal and level headed-like me.
