I've actually had a similar experience when I was in school.
I was alone...
The lights were dim.
I stayed after school and it was around 7pm.
In the library trying to finish my work on the computer.
I've been in there for hours when finally I looked up at the front at the entrance,
I saw a figure standing outside the door.
For about 3 hours, I would look up briefly and still see the figure standing there.
Eventually I got curious and went to the door.
Nobody was there.
I went back to my work and eventually got creeped out and left.
I never stayed that late after school again.

The figure in the room was a janitor who was on a stool fixing the lights. He was scared of the guy so he didnt say anything. After fixing the lights he left and thats why the kid saw the lights turned on. LOGIC.

I don't have a school related horror story, but there was a short time we had to take computer lessons in our school in the evenings and it always felt super surreal and a bit unsettling to be in school when everything was dark and none of the class rooms were being used, except for ours. It feels like you're not really supposed to be there at that time.

So I was a night security guard at a school and I was doing my rounds and locking the doors behind me as I went. Suddenly out of nowhere a ghostly figure appeared calling me Jeremy. I blinked and he was gone, then I heard a deathly scream and my heart jumped in my throat so I hid. Moments later I saw a group of ghostly kids walk in the room whispering and then they looked right at me and then left the room. I quite my night time security job shortly after 😂😂
