Someone asked why I cover the Gaza protests more than the pro-Israel protests. Basically, since October 7, there have been about a half-dozen pro-Israel protests and I've covered half of them. There have been over 100 pro-Gaza protests and I've probably covered a dozen. Seriously--there are anti-Israel/pro-Gaza protests nearly every day somewhere in D.C. I generally only cover them if a large crowd or they plan to get arrested.

Lived in DC since 2000. Came for school, graduated and have since lived in the DMV. But am really excited for your elaborate coverage of several spaces and events surrounding our nations capital. I have learned a lot from your Chanel about common landmarks and events I have often gone by not soo certain what they represented or what it was. Am glad you do the job you do, not only covering the news but giving life to the coverage making your viewers have a reasonable opinion on what the state of events are and why things do happen the way they do.

Not a fan of the modern look with mirrored tabletop and chairs . Looks like the Golden Girls decorated from that era. All that glass stuff look like the dollar store. Love the china and silverware. That’s it. Too much “stuff” crowding the table. Too much dollar store looking glass bobbles, vases and candles. The colors are to 80s and like from leftover Easter sale somewhere. Just my opinion.

Cool! The china that features flowers on it is from the Johnson service, and the flowers on it are American wildflowers. The other china that has a gold rim with a green basket-weave pattern and gold eagle in the center is from the George W. Bush service.

Some American citizens would enjoy that good dinner, but unfortunately many parents only eat once a day in order to be able to feed, and support their families, and many seniors eat once a day in order to pay for medication.

Trump, a person not known for reading, kept a book of speeches by Adolf Hitler on his nightstand and also claimed to own a copy of Mein Kampf.
When a person uses the same language as Hitler did the comparisons to Hitler should be expected. And just remember that Hitler said he was for the people of Germany, just like Trump claims he is with regard to the people of America, and it didn't end well for Germany.

Another state dinner? Why host so many? They lose their appeal and lure when you host them so often. They should be reserved for really special occasions
Here is the list of the total number of state dinners (to the best that I can find online) hosted by each President since 1981.
Reagan - 54
Bush - 25
Clinton - 29
George W. Bush - 13
Obama - 13
Trump - 2 (Would have been three, but he had to cancel one)
Biden - 5
I'd say based on that list that 5 isn't at all many, and is in line with the current rate of state dinners hosted by Bush and Obama.

I thought all the food for the state dinner could be eaten with chopsticks, but I didn’t see any chopsticks at the place settings. I do realize most Japanese today can use Western cutlery successful, but it would be a nice courtesy, yeah?
All of these things were determined in the weeks leading up to this dinner. If the Japanese Prime Minister wanted chopsticks there would be chopsticks. All of this is dealt with long before so there is no incident where they serve something that isn't liked by the Prime Minister, the President, and their families. Everyone else if they don't like the food they just have to tough it out.

Who was supposed to get arrested
Back in the ' Dark Ages ', when I was a kid, I remember the news always reporting on all of these 'Steak Dinners ' they had at the White House. I thought they do eat a lot of 'steak' there. As I got older and saw what the menu really was at a 'State Dinner' , I said if I ever had to go eat there I would probable just ' brown bag' it. Their food is out of my league.
The food is as diverse as the Presidents. Some had turkey, others steak, and while not a state dinner my personal favorite is President Franklin Roosevelt hosting King George VI and Queen Elizabeth at his home in Hyde Park where they ate hot dogs off paper plates.
