Spot on. We can’t prioritize our feelings over the truth. Thank you Dr Craig.
We can't get to the truth by mere feelings. God bless you immensely 🙏 ❤️ ✝️
excellent video Dr Craig
Compassion! That's a great advice.
"It ain't the parts of the Bible that I can't understand that bother me, it's the parts that I do understand."
- Samuel Clemons.
Perfectly put. Spot on
Dr. Craig is one of my Very Favorite Intellectuals and Christians.
Yep
After watching him bumble his way through explaining the morality of killing babies I would call him a clown of the highest order. A disgusting one for sure, but still a clown. When you can literally excuse genocide, rape or ANYTHING by claiming it was "divinely commanded" then you have lost any claim to respect or of being taken seriously. Craig literally thinks that killing in the name of god is a GOOD thing, because god MUST have a sufficient moral reason. What is that reason? Who knows! Certainly not low bar Bill. If you find his excuses for gods immorality convincing then I would encourage you to seek out a good psychologist.
As always 💯
When I gave up my Christian faith, it was actually a very lonely, dark, and painful process. I didn't do it for internet points - there was no social media back in the 1990s. No, I did it to seek the truth. That meant making peace with a lot of "I don't know"s, as opposed to asserting your entire worldview on nothing but unproven supernatural claims.
What evidence or arguments convinced you that Christianity was true?
"unproven supernatural claims" seems as disingenuous as it comes. Have you ever been a practicing christian, part of the life of the Church? If not, then such claims reveal a lack, not a resolution with the truth.

Donkeys don't have the anatomy required to produce human speech.
Neither do snakes or bushes.
The fact that the bible isn't true on many of the things it claims are true.
Like Genesis, Adam and Eve, the flood, the Exodus, and the resurrection.
The various contradictions in the bible. Like no man seeing the face of god, and the various people that have seen god.
God being good, and also god killing babies.
The 2 different Genesis accounts.
Just to name a few.
And even without all that, you have the problem of there being no evidence for any gods ever existing. So you would be unjustified in believing in any of them .
A Cristian is not able to give up his faith. you probably never were
May u tell what's ur worldview now?
Believe it or not it was because of William Lane Craig’s Moral Argument that I am no longer a Christian Believer. I came to fully understand in a very deep way that a God who would create People whom He knew would end up in Hell was NOT a Morally Perfect God.
I'm curious if you are still a theist?
I agree that the moral argument is flawed for christians. And the problem of evil shows that the christian god at the very least isn't who the able says he is.
But you could still have a god who isn't good.
Just curious on where you have landed
@@somerandom3247 I am a Theist / Agnostic. I am persuaded toward Theism but some days I am Agnostic.
I don't think that conclusion follows. It could very well be the case that it is impossible to create a world where every person freely chooses to repent and believe in God. There might always be people who will reject God in any possible free world that He could have created. So then we must ask, why should God's decision to create us (or to not create us) be based on unbelievers rather than believers? So creating non-beleivers who will eventually end up in Hell doesn't make God immoral
Moreover, to say that God is immoral for doing so is inadvertently admitting that there is an objective moral standard by which we can judge such actions. But rationally speaking, such a moral standard can only be rooted in God
@@KD-eh3qo Say God could create a World where everyone got saved except for just one Person. God would still be cruel to that Person to create them and bring them into existence.
@@TheMirabillis What makes you say that? I don't think it would be immoral given that God offers the person free will and even a way for salvation through His own sacrifice. Additionally, that one person would still be instrumental and necessary for God's salvific plans. So I don't see why God should base his decision of human creation on the unrepentant sinner rather than the repentant sinner. The latter decision could very well be morally better with regard to ontology
It’s really a matter of these people haven’t actually thought about anything they believed. So when someone throws any type of argument their way they crumble. Or otherwise lash out in anger. This is why apologetics are important to stress to new believers from the start.
That's literally the opposite of what is going on.....
The deconstruction movement is about thoroughly evaluating what you believe.....
It just so happens that when you are a christian and you do that, you won't be a christian for long.
@@somerandom3247 that’s literally what I said. Christians grow up not thinking about what they believe.
@@somerandom3247 when they finally think about what they believe they walk away.
2:35 “Biblically consistent “. Wow, that could be anything!
There is no consistency in a group of men trying to channel “Gods” in the wilderness. All the authors of the Bible were men, men who were tested in the wilderness. They either wrote their stories while they were in the wilderness, or they wrote their stories from remembrance of their time in the wilderness. And not one of the authors ever recorded a single encounter with a single Satan, while they were being tested in the wilderness. The only person in the Bible who sees a Satan in the wilderness is Jesus.
So, consistency? The only thing consistent about the Bible is the inconsistency.
Hmmm. I usually enjoy listening to WLC. I think his answer here is incomplete, and a bit weak. People “deconstruct” for many reasons, but it almost always is revealing of a wrong understanding of who God is. The Triune God, is the definition of love, mercy, grace, and forgiveness. That’s what they need to know!
How is god the definition of any of those things?
Taking the stories of Christianity, god once flooded the entire earth. Killing al th plants, animals, women and children, and everything else that wasn't on the ark.
What part of killing babies by drowning them do you think is the definition of love, mercy, grace, or forgiveness?
@@somerandom3247 Hi “somerandom3247”! First thing, I maybe shouldn’t have ended my comment with an exclamation mark. I am far from a “know-it-all, vitriolic guy”. I listen to Idol Killer, WLC, Leighton Flowers, Mike Winger, and others, so that I can understand the biblical scriptures better, and thus know my God better. I am both firm in what I believe, and always seeking to understand better. Please take any comments from me as said gently, with a heart full of gratitude and humility before my/our God. Since you referenced the great flood of Noah’s time, I am going to assume (maybe..? ) that you DO believe that there IS a God. Without going on for a long time, I will add another attribute to who our God is. He is also a God of perfect Justice. Please read Genesis 6-10, carefully. The world was full of evil, and totally corrupted. The story
Sorry. I managed to hit the “send “ button. I have some chronic nerve issues, and my hands twitch sometimes.
The story of Noah, the Ark, and other Bible stories, reflect ( some of how ) God interacts with his creation. Even within this story, there is so much that is not revealed. We don’t know if God plucked the infants off the earth, before the waters rose. We don’t know what Noah and family did, inside the Ark, for roughly a year. We don’t know where all the rain came from, and where it receded to. There are scientific and biblical theories, but much is unknown. ( BTW, While on a road trip in 2001, my wife, kids, and I, came across a “Museum of Natural History”, somewhere in the middle of Kansas I don’t remember exactly where. Maybe Hays, KS..? In that museum, there was a full sized skeleton of some sort of whale, that had been found out on the plains of Kansas! How did it get there?! Maybe a worldwide flood?? 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️ ). Anyway, Please read through Genesis. Read it slowly, and absorb the wording. I pray that you do believe in the eternal creator God, and continue to seek Him earnestly. I am no theologian, but simply another guy trying to know our God more deeply, each day. Blessings upon your Journey!
You can't have a deconstruction story without a testimonial of how you came to faith in the first place. Certainly the sins of men can only confirm the truth of scripture's image of them as sinners.
I doubt many people deconstruct on feelings alone. Hyper focusing on feelings is a big mistake. I left the faith for a number of reasons, none of them based on my feelings about it. The best way to figure out why someone deconstructs is to ask them, don't do as Craig is saying and assuming you know why. That makes you look like an ass 100% and will shut down any serious discourse rapidly because it is clear you have an agenda and a goal rather than a sincere interest. I hate it when people think they know your reason for leaving the faith. Craig's response is confusing and misleading. I honestly think he wasn't quite sure what to say and decided to start spouting out impressive sounding statements to dazzle the crowd. I doubt Craig has ever had an honest conversation with someone who has deconstructed and came out changing that persons mind, certainly not with the tactics I have seen him espouse. If I had him come up talking about how I was just hurt by someone, or that I felt wronged or that I only left because of "feelings" I would certainly walk away. Discussing actual deconstruction reasons is complicated and difficult and unless you want to actually find out what shook someones faith to the very roots then I suggest you leave well enough alone.
I am Jesus Christ, I am the Messiah, I command all Christians to obey me, if no one gives me the time of day I will continue to let people fall into sin and leave the church, I am punishing you for not obeying
Leave the computer
I saw him rise from the dead
He really is a god.
Also, there were 2000 people with me who also saw it. No need to check those facts, just believe this one liner from my story like you do with the bible.
@@somerandom3247 Employ your brain when next you're typing.
You're creating your own religion I see. Opposite to Jesus Christ
So you don't know what the deconstruction movement is?
Everything you said here shows that you dont have the first clue.
The decondtuction movement is about thouroughly evaluating your beliefs and determining if you are justified in holding them.
It isnt confined to christianity. Most peiple do this. Its got its name from the christians who partake, because its a new concept to them. For the rest of us its just a part of life.
Its always funny to me that apologists like you are so against people truely evaluatijg their belifs. Its almost like you know that the slighybit of honest introspection will lead people away from your cult.
