Imagine growing up in that family with all those comedians ....lol
dixielatino Can you imagine their birthday parties?
I would have died due to shortage of breath because of all the laughing i would do
+SupremeScopaz Nope, I would live longer.. xD
dixielatino laughter would be a death in that family.
I sure as hell wouldn't have been fucked over the way I have by my family.
I miss the 90s so much. It may not have been terribly highbrow but dammit people had a savage sense of humor back then
I AGREE I don't like it BUT I can't help it she makes me laugh like hell. I just love the original song.
+Miguel Albarracin lol is that what it is?? I was begining to think it was just me
Yesssssss
Lmfao! Right?! :))
I miss Mad TV® for that very reason. Their skits and music videos parodies weren't exactly subtle or nuanced, but damn if their lowbrow comedy wasn't more funny than equivalent SNL® material from the same period.
Kim nailed the voice so well. I come back to this multiple times a year. One of the funniest song parodies ever.
but they will never attack the talent or abilities of rappers, who are far worse than crystal waters. bunch of lemmings
@@cagneybillingsley2165 They probably didn't want to get shot.

Kim Wayans is the most underrated member the Wayans family she's very talented
She played the original teacher of Michelle's on Full House.
Is this the talent in question? Cause this shit was painfully unfunny
Leslie Jones....not much talent
I absolutely agree with you!!! She is hilarious😂
Not really. She was rather one-note and rarely funny, both on In Living Color and her guest spots.
" I be rich you be po" that line kills me every time 🤣🤣🤣🤣

This describes the music industry today
but its not todays music jackass
ikr
true
Pop music has always been generic and not very well thought out. The problem here is that no one looks for music anymore. The fact that the iTunes's and the Pandora's didn't exist back then made people actually look for what they were into back then. Some pop music was good, just like some pop is good today.
Everyone needs to stop complaining about "this generation"/"today's music"/"today's fads" blah blah blah, and go out to find what they're into. I use www.music-map.com.
BOY
I be rich, you be po'.
*DEAD*
That WAS hysterical, especially how she pushed out the word 'po' at you. She practically spit the word out to indicate she was sneering at her 'fans': that's what gave it such impact, and had the studio audience howling.
😂😂
The emphasis has me in tears. 🤣
@@mcbrion1951great analysis of why this part was funny
YAAAASSSSS...💀💀💀Truth all daaay! Yabba dabba doo...🔥🔥🔥
That "lobotamy, lobata-you" line is really underrated.
Along with the repeated line about watching TV. It's deep cause people including myself are glued to TV, streaming services, UA-cam... I'm a visual and auditory learner so it works out for me but its kind of the SAME as a lobotomy for most. 😳

Not really, she just described the music industry at the time the parody was made
@@Itsant33 You're not too good at understanding a statement, are you?
@Itsant33 The whole parody is about an artist who gets rich off of stupid content, exactly like a shitToker because people are mindless zombies. In this case, that would be genZ. Understand now?
I guess Kanye West got his clothing line inspiration from homeboys dancing in the back!
LMAO!!!
Lol
Shahida Alexander I thought it was Lil yatchy & Lil Uzi vert dancing in the back😂😂

Yes!!! 😊💚😊
What's sad is this parody is better than most songs today.
I hate that this hurt Crystal Waters’ feelings, but this will always be hilarious to me!😂😂😂😂
She got over it.
Crystal Waters mixed the Living Color parody into her live performance of Gypsy Woman.
@@reneemcdonald7178 I love this 😂😂😂😂
@@reneemcdonald7178 That I'd like to see!
Awww... but that's how she knows she made it! It was relevant enough to be parodied. Her melody was irresistible.
"I'll be rich. You'll be poor." Awesome!
Is nobody gonna talk about how good that part of her listing the channels was?
"I'll be rich, you'll be poor. Scooby Doo, where are you!"
vistaestrada.
O
I'm here watching Scooby all day. Really hit home.
If you grew up in the nineties you know every single station played the song over and over 15 times a day
True story haha.
I don't know how in the hell Kim kept a straight face while filming this sensational parody!
There was a blooper episode where Kim said "Cock-a-doodle-dee, cock-a-doodle-doo!
Keenan, I'm a gonna kill you!"
😅😅😅😅😅
Oh how far we've come, back when 100 channels on tv was the ultimate package deal haha
bruh. i was thinking i was clever abt to put those exact word in a comment... 2 years too late
BINGO
true, but at least our TVs back then could manage those 100 channels by themself, now you have no choice but to attach a set-top converter box since Cable companies wanted more control of the content and in order for them to do that they had to digitally encrypt cable. In return we got more channels (mostly useless digital stations) and lost the ability freely split cable in our homes to *freely* share the line like we could back in the late 20th century.
Now we've come full circle. These "streaming services" tout 100 channels only for their most expensive packages. In the late 90's when digital cable and satellite TV took off, they promised up to 500 channels.
Now we have thousands and barely any thing is good
When she said lettuce cheese pickles onions. I LOST it!!!😂
Me too🤣
Right! She just started throwing anything in at that point.

Got to love Kim Wayans but I'm not one to gossip so you didn't hear that from me! ☺

I remember on the blooper episode, they were saying it took Kim Wayans dozens of takes to get the lyrics right!

I loved Crystal Waters songs, but I also LOVED this spoof as a kid. Kim Wayans is so awesome.
Sometimes out of nowhere my mind will go: “All beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions…” It’s been 30 years!!!
And that’s exactly why I came here. 😂😂😂
It tickles me that that is what she's saying as the song fades out! Just seems so random lol.
She listed all the items on my shopping list.
"... on a bun!"😆
But what's also so great about Kim Wayans is her absolute straight face through the mindless and hilarious lyrics she's going through. Total pro.

For those who don't find this funny you have to understand the time. The early 90s was super honest and experimental. Gypsy Woman was on every urban radio station back then. You couldn't NOT parody this song. ILC was the urban comedic voice touching what SNL wasn't. Great stuff. Can't believe this was '91.
So... What? How has anything you said make the sketch funny? It's just offending the artists and their audience for no reason at all.
@@SianaGearz Ahhhhh shudddduppp!

Scooby-Doo Where Are You?
The simplicity and the trance-like state of Gypsy Woman is what makes it so much fun though. It's characteristic of house to be minimal so you can get into it and dance your ass off. It's honestly really cool.

I love Gypsy Woman but this is hilarious!!
Especially the part where they flip "but she's homeless" into "I should be homeless," and also the recipe bit at the end.
That "recipe" is a McDonald's Big Mac commercial going back to the '70s.
SNL has only been sporadically funny over the last 50 years, but ILC and Mad TV were consistently funny in the 90s. There can’t be another show like this unfortunately. Comedy dies when you can’t make fun of everything. That’s the whole point of comedy.
SNL only has a handful of funny stuff. But even those give a little chuckle

But Crystal Waters songs are better than most of today's music. If In Living Color could have seen the future, then they would of saved their roast for today's artist.
right
+George Smith I agree, George. In the early 90s, people were not visibly concerned about the homeless, yet this song "makes millions" because "you're mindless". She was right about that. The San Francisco gay crowd went wild on this song, yet I'd watch them pass by the homeless as though they were lepers. This hardly helped the homeless, and I did not appreciate that at all. The satire was dead on, especially for that time.
mcbrion1951 cool story
