Glock 42 magazine upgrades - Magguts & Pearce grip extension

- In this video, I upgrade a standard Glock 42 mag with magguts (www.magguts.com) to add an additional round to the magazine. It becomes a 7 round mag plus 1 in the chamber. I also take the opportunity to replace the basic floor plate with a Pearce grip extension to allow me to get all 4 fingers on the G42 grip. Simple upgrades that make a big difference!

Ghost Inc. Mini Magazine extension device (+2 with included spring @ $20) combined with Pearce Grip PG-42+1 for $10 gets you a super slick and still uber compact 10 shooter (9+racked). Best upgrades for the money if you want a minimalist easy grabbing 42. Super pairing with the Hogue Carry Holster.

Thanks for the excellent video. I have a Glock 42 on the way, and while I'm waiting for it I've been researching different magazine extension options. I think the combination you've got here seems like the best option, and is what I plan on going with.

With that thin follower and a +2 grip extension, you can get a 9 round magazine. Give it a try. Strike Industries makes a good +2 round mag extension for the glock 42.
it's called Strike Industries Enhanced Magazine Plate, it adds two rounds and looks great. So you'd have a 8+1 which I think I might try.
Have a 43 with Pearce +1 base but now want to add Mag guts follower to bring mag to 8 rounds which will make my 43 a better EDC rotation gun.

I looked into this subject in detail. Glock 42. My final conclusion: stick with the simple pinky extender without the extra rounds. Why?
Questions exist as to the reliability of any extenders that do not include a stronger spring. They’ll probably be ok, but for the limited benefit, it wasn’t worth the risk to me. Get an extra mag instead. Nice vid.

(NOTE: I want to keep my Glock 42 profile as small as possible, which is why I'm not considering the +2 mag extensions.)
For those wondering, I ordered BOTh the Pearce Grips +1 AND the MagGuts. I used the follower and spring from the MagGuts and the bottom and lock from the Pearce Grips.
And YES, I now have (just one for now) an 8 round clip -- BUT: getting that last round in, even with my UpLula, is VERY tight.
So, right now I have one mag with both, and one mag with just the MagGuts (until I decide if the Pearce extension affects my concealment capability) and now off to the range to see of the combination clip causes any problems.
Any update on your trip?

The bigger +1 like hyve works with magguts. I have all the extensions and it has the most room to accommodate. You don't have to fight the 8th rd in either.

Late but I bought both Pearce pinky ext and the Pearce +1 ext & tried magguts with the +1 and unfortunately you cannot fit an 8th round in there
so can we get 10 rounds out of the 42 with the mag guts and a plus 2 mag plate on it . has anybody done that yet?
Mag guts works fine in my G43 but my G42 hated them.
Have you seen this? well it won't let me paste it here but there is a mag. extension that adds 2 rounds to your mag, it's on ebay.
it honestly doesn't look that bad to me but I might have my gun dealer order one so I can check them, and the one you reviewed. That way I can get him to change it out for me lol
I haven't had to use pliers on my G42 magazine to remove the base plate
You could have bought a Peirce +1 grip extension for under $10.00
Their PROVEN & work Flawlessly , I know that because i have a few & ran hundreds of every type of ammo through them without failure !

With a Peirce +1 grip extension in his oem Glock 43 "01" pinky extension magazine ,
For a total of 8 rounds in the magazinine and 1 in the pipe .
Has anyone tried this ?
Peirce & Magguts said it will not work .
Also Anderson Arms has all different color magazine Followers that are small enough to hold an extra round in the magazine .
I thought of trieing that also .
