Thank you for your upbeat positive approach to housekeeping! I did not learn about setting up a system growing up, but feel the need to have one to streamline the process. I have just set up my Happy Planner extension for 2024. I love that there is a month on each page. Thank you for the encouragement 😊
I love hearing how other homemakers do things - it’s so interesting! I used to be able to do all the cleaning in one day, in my other house. In my new house I find it is easier to do 1-2 hours of cleaning per day. Merry Christmas Victoria 😊🎄💕
I’m thinking about adjusting a few things. Mainly in the laundry department! I’m thinking I should start doing a small load every day rather than drown in a big load once a week! Haha. ❤️ ❄️ ⭐️ ❤️ ❄️ ⭐️
Although this is a video that has been out for awhile I just stumbled upon jt. As a freshly young adult living with someone this was extremely helpful and easy to follow along to start setting up a routine for me and my roommate. Thank you!
Great idea and suggestions!! I'm struggling being a full time teacher and up keeping these skills and habits. Now, being home and being on summer break, I do have more time to get on it and get a cleaning schedule down. And you're absolutely adorable!
So far, I plan and grocery shop on Sundays. I take out the trash after breakfast and do the dishes before dinner. I know that seems harder but it works with my rhythm. Last Friday of the month I restock toiletries at Walmart. I have an AM and PM routine, and everything runs more smoothly when I am disciplined. I made cards and put them in my bedroom(: Right now I’m working on a pink (duh) cleaning kit for the bathroom with a card for steps. I bought some aprons, since I never know what to WEAR to clean. I got some sweat absorbent headbands so my eyes don’t get blurry after all that scrubbing. Thrift store t shirt and crappy shorts of any kind. I wish I could find a “cleaning dress” that’s like cotton and linen and knee length that’s less than $10.
Hello! I just came across your UA-cam channel, and noticed the planner you had for cleaning is sold out. Do you know of any other good ones I could purchase in the meantime?
Using the Speed Cleaning book by Jeff Campbell (he also has a YT video on his methods), and just using vinegar and water for a cleaning solution as a non-toxic option to his cleaners, and using Bon Ami for non-toxic cleanser, here is my 10 minutes per day routine. 10 minutes was all I feel like spending per day, so I do what I can within 10 minutes. My keeping up with this daily and weekly, things stay pretty clean. Mon - spritz and wipe kitchen Tues - spritz and wipe bathroom Weds - mop kitchen and bath Thurs - dust living room Friday - dust bedroom Sat - vacuum living room and bedroom Sun - patio Thurs - also do laundry and plan grocery list Fri - errand day (I only run errands on Fridays) Dishes - do after every meal and wipe counters and dining table. That's it! Leaves time for a job and volunteer work.
I Love this video girl!!!! I'm glad I found your channel. New subscriber here!!! I'm a stay at home mom of 2 boys under the age of 4. And this just gave me the motivation to create a schedule so I don't feel so overwhelmed with chores.
This video was so interesting! Thank you for creating content, I just subscribed :) I have started making videos around homemaking and femininity as well.
washing bedding is only then a monthly task, when you at least have two sets for each bed. and you do change them at least twice a month. this is not a recommendation for people with allergies (like me - I have to do change sheets weekly). every two weeks is the minimum, if you don't want to have the smell and the old skin bakteria back on your face and bad skin or developing sensitivities on a long run. don't go out and talk like, it is ok, to do it only once a month. if people don't find the time or are overwhelmed, they will do what they can handle anyway. but it is not something to regard as 'it's fine and no harm done....'.
Hello. Thanks for watching and engaging with my content! Within the first 5 seconds of this video I informed my viewers that this video was going to be a talking video. If you are interested in motivational “Clean with me” videos I do have a playlist dedicated to that. Have a blessed day! 😊
I feel like I'm watching a video from the 1950s. There is more to life than cleaning a house. For example, advocating being child-free to save the planet from a permanent climate crisis that is about to be upon us within as soon as 5 years.
When you say, homemaker, sounds like the good old days when a woman’s place was in the home, cooking and cleaning for their husbands and taking care of the children. I understand that your husband helps you a bit but it still sounds weird. Almost like I am a nurse and you are qualified homemaker. I’m not having a go at you as it’s a great video I’m just saying that’s weird..
The definition of Homemaker is: a person who spends their time looking after a home and doing housework rather than being employed outside the home. I am, however, of the firm belief that anyone can be a homemaker, even one’s who are employed. If you have a place to rest your head at night, you deserve to intentionally make that space your home. Homemaking is about intention. My channel here is a Homemaking channel, providing motivation and information to those who desire to become more skilled with domestic duties at home. I have another video here that you might enjoy ua-cam.com/video/ppfY1KsIAW0/v-deo.html
I am sorry but I am British. and I know a lot of Americans use homemaker a lot where as in the United Kingdom we do not, but thank you for sharing your comment about what I said..
True!!! But it does help so that things get adequately cleaned and not forgotten about. It’s easy to put say… the guest bathroom on the back burner, since it isn’t used as much.
This is one of the most judgmental things I’ve read lately. One of the biggest misconceptions I’ve seen for homemakers is outsiders assuming they have nothing to do and sit around all day. I’ve seen people try to dump their kids and tasks on them. Disregarding their time and suggesting homemakers have no value. A cleaning schedule helps you plan your time efficiently. Some homemakers do not stay home all the time. They go do their own activities/errands/volunteer. They may be doing many types of activities based on the household’s needs. If you are caring for a sick or elderly person a cleaning schedule can help you keep track and manage your time. Sometimes life throws a curveball and you need a schedule to help you get back on track. It can be a helpful tool in teaching small children to care for their things- example- every Wednesday, put away stuff on flat surfaces. Builds positive habits. You might not need it… but others do need the structure and support.
@@mayhemschild Thank you! I spent years caring for my aging parents while my own house got terribly behind. Plus I am active in several volunteer ministries/Bible studies. And errands take up whole days now. Plus my mom always had a housekeeper & I was never taught this basic stuff. I spend time helping my grandkids/step grandkids & also make items for a friend to sell in her store (that I give her BC she is going thru hard times)...so these basics are very valuable to me. I just now made my own planner & am going to start small so I don't get overwhelmed. Oh, & my husband was just diagnosed with a progressive disease (think Michael J. Fox). I really appreciate your response to ZB BC it encouraged me.

isnÄt everybody with a home a homemaker? is this a word only for those, who stay at home and do just that?
